Grayson lives with a condition so rare it is named after him. He is the only person in the world ever known to have this disorder, but he just wants to talk about baseball and be one of the guys.

Grayson Kole Smith, of Heflin, Alabama, passed away on July 31, 2021 after bravely battling a life-long illness. He was eight years old. • "He's a daddy's boy." "Yes I am. But I'm your boy too." That was so sweet! He didn't want his mama to be sad, just reassuring to tell her he loves her as much as dad. I don't think I have ever seen a little boy with such a huge emotional intelligence. His flaws have been all on the outside. On the inside, he had the brightest heart and such a great personality. Rest in peace, gorgeous little Grayson. ❤

    • If you died TODAY, where would you be spending eternity? Have all your sins been forgiven or are you still hoping that you're a good enough person to earn a spot in heaven. The reality is that no one can earn a spot, our sin disqualifies us. But the God news is that Jesus paid for our qualification by dying on our behalf taking the punishment that we deserved. JESUS said, "For God so loved the world, that He gave His one and only Son; that WHOEVER believes in Him should not perish, but have everlasting life." - John 3:16 Nothing is more important than your eternal destination. Please, don't say, "When I get older I'll get right with God' or 'I'll get serious with Jesus one day when I'm ready.' Don't wait any longer, today is the day of salvation. Get right with God today, for tomorrow very well might be too late. We invite you to REPENT and accept that Jesus Christ is Lord of your life by praying this simple prayer out loud right now... 'Heavenly Father, I turn away from my old life and repent for my sins. I believe that Jesus came for me, that Jesus died for me and that Jesus rose again for me so that I can be forgiven and receive eternal life. I believe in my heart and confess with my mouth that Jesus Christ is the Lord of my life from this day. Through Him and in His Name, receive the gift of eternal life. I ask you to fill me with the Holy Spirit and lead me for the rest of my life. In Jesus name - Amen. 🎉

You focus on what's "evil" in the world all the time you experience unhappiness; you put your attention on "good" things most of the time then you experience some happiness (as expertly displayed by this kid). If you walk around thinking the world is an intrinsically evil place then you're living with delusion, not some kind of perceptive state that only ignorant people lack. • This is the first time I’d seen this. I just found this video on accident and I’m glad I did. What a wonderful loving family. I believe Grayson was sent to them to love him and teach him and hopefully many others what the word “unconditional”means. Due to his parents, family and friends in his life, this boy didn’t see his differences as disabilities. Like his dad said Grayson is a person. No one on earth is perfect, some imperfections are outside ,some are inside, but “who you are” as a person is in your “heart”. Thank you Grayson and your family for sharing your story with the world. I am saddened by hearing of him passing, but I know God has him in his arms. He is living his eternal dream as a ball player. I pray his loved ones find peace and comfort in knowing they were blessed with an angel. 💙🙏

  • Grayson passed away this morning. He was one of the sweetest people I have ever met. Grayson was a bright light in this world, and I frequently rewatch his interview when I need a reminder of the good things in this world. His parents share that they hope Grayson’s story helped everyone learn that they are important and loved. Grayson, you will be missed, and we all love you so much. I hope that whatever happens after this life has endless baseball for you to enjoy. Thank you for making this world a better place. You were an incredible person and will always be remembered by me and many others. Rest in peace, Grayson.
