About The Hobbit: The Desolation of Smaug:
Academy Award® winner Peter Jackson continues his Middle-earth adventure following Bilbo Baggins (Martin Freeman) who's swept into an epic quest to reclaim the lost Dwarf Kingdom of Erebor from the fearsome dragon Smaug. In the company of thirteen dwarves and the wizard Gandalf the Grey (Ian McKellen), Bilbo enters the Lonely Mountain in possession of Gollum's "precious" ring and his keen blade, Sting. With an all-star cast and the effects wizardry of Jackson's award-winning Weta Workshop, Tolkien's epic story comes to life as never before imagined.

this song makes me want to watch The Hobbit again
This song is from a place far from here
So much dept in this comment. I salute you Sir/Mrs.
Mohammad has hit the nail on the head. It’s otherworldly ! Thank you. Peace!
Yup
❤
Very😂
I remember watching The Hobbit in the theater. We were all in our seats till this song ended. What a masterpiece.
Witches
I did the exact same thing.

Doesn’t get enough credit or attention because it came after the original trilogy. People were burnt out on the films, I think. I remember taking my first born, who’s 17 now, to see all of these three films. The scene where the father races to the tower to help his son shoot down the dragon, he reached into my lap and grabbed my hand and smiled at me as if to say, “we would do the same.” I get emotional thinking about it. It’s nice to have memories like that…

If you read this, I dedicate this song to you brother/sister...may you find what you are looking for in life.
Do you pray to our LORD FATHER ABBA and JESUS CHRIST?
We find it as children. We loose it as we grow older. 😢

Im 53 years old and i can honestly say ED is easily one of the best talents ive had the pleasure of hearing and also a great writer
So true❤I credible
Songs the theme tune writes it and sings it pure talent
Just advise: if your in Ireland and find yourself alone by the cliffs. Play this song and breathe
Was literally doing this down Tenby in Wales last weekend :'D
❤
Perfect song to listen to while watching your loved ones smile and love each other.
Imar will agree lol
When I hear this song I always imagine myself on a high fantasy adventure. Going through the toughest battles and appreciating just the beauty of what the whole world has to offer
You sound like a over 505 million years old cartoon character, you make others do what you want 🤒🤕
ok
I know man me too. Then I hear this and it fulfills this exact fantasy you're building in your head.
feel the same
I listen this song right now In Scotland, and like in a half hour I ride for a next great views on a Island. Enjoy!
This song is a masterpiece. There's no words to describe what I'm feeling, right now.
HAHAHAH i was searching to describe how i feel on this song and i have no words :)
@@claytonleach3324 I think he's greek. But I see you
@@claytonleach3324 Ancestry means nothing towards the feeling of music.
Silly silly
This is one of Ed’s most artistically written lyrics ever.❤️
Because he is a fantastic artist writing a song about a world created by a fantastic writer
It's was not him, who had wroten this.
@@MrKran80 well it Perer Jackson invited Ed to watch the movie and to write a song after his daughter Katie suggested Ed.. so soon after he watched it he wrote the song and recorded the most track elements on the same day
@@vitocorleone6650why stalk so hard?
@@verdations531you see the comment above this one that you commented? Yeah, thats why
not only is his voice amazing, the relevance of the lyrics within the song are absolutely amazing.
The fact that Peter Jackson gave Ed should freedom on writing the lyrics and the music just show how passionate Ed was on writing this song. Not to mention Ed is apparently a huge LOTR nerd as well so you know this came from his soul lol
😯
It's fascinating how most people imagine a nice fantasy life while listening to this song but it literally describes your last moments in a dragonfire.
Yep. Go and listen to Geoff Castellucci's version. The counter to Ed's tenor is striking!
Thank you. I sent this to my husband after I listened and cried because it's so true. He works two jobs so I can stay home with our little ones, and all he asks is to come home to a clean house, a warm dinner and a hug and kiss. He's a veteran and an amazing Man and we are so blessed by him
Great man 🎉

all gave some.
Oh, misty eye of the mountain below Keep careful watch of my brothers' souls And should the sky be filled with fire and smoke Keep watching over Durin's sons If this is to end in fire Then we should all burn together Watch the flames climb high into the night Calling out father oh Stand by and we will Watch the flames burn auburn on The mountain side (high) And if we should die tonight Then we should all die together Raise a glass of wine for the last time Calling out father oh Prepare as we will Watch the flames burn auburn on The mountain side Desolation comes upon the sky Now I see fire Inside the mountain And I see fire Burning the trees And I see fire Hollowing souls And I see fire Blood in the breeze And I hope that you remember me Oh, should my people fall Then surely I'll do the same Confined in mountain halls We got too close to the flame Calling out father oh Hold fast and we will Watch the flames burn auburn on The mountain side Desolation comes upon the sky Now I see fire Inside the mountain And I see fire Burning the trees And I see fire Hollowing souls And I see fire Blood in the breeze And I hope that you remember me And if the night is burning I will cover my eyes For if the dark returns Then my brothers will die And as the sky is falling down It crashed into this lonely town And with that shadow upon the ground I hear my people screaming out Now I see fire Inside the mountains I see fire Burning the trees I see fire Hollowing souls I see fire Blood in the breeze I see fire Oh you know I saw a city burning out (fire) And I see fire Feel the heat upon my skin, yeah (fire) And I see fire (fire) And I see fire burn on and on the mountain side
❤
Ed Sheeran's vocal abilities are amazing I have loved him since his first album
He’s a Lyric Tenor. No wonder hitting those notes was easy for me.
You can the fantasy and magic through this song . Amazing ballad for heroes!
We’re sons of Durin, and Durins folk do not flee from a fight!
Tolkein would be proud ❤
You know he is talented and singing from heart when you get goosebumps while listening a song. He is one of our best artists in this world there is no doubt. This song still hits the same like before i heard the first time. ❤
He's very talent I love this song.
This song will make you think """""""

I really loved all of the LOTR/Hobbit themes and songs. How time flies..the movie came out in 2013.
I don't think the world was ready for this song. Easily the most undervalued song ever!
I absolutely love this song. I love Ed Sheeran voice and lyrics, but what I love the most is how Irish it sounds. Just so beautiful. I will always be addicted ❤
He looks like something out of Lord of rings bless him :) perfect for the brand :) great singer
As the butterflies take flight 🦋🦋🦋
It's beyond me how anyone cannot love him. He's an amazing artist and an even better human. This song is my soul.
And your soul is the Light
I see fire burning the trees! 😢
Thank you Ed Sheeran for this song, for this performance. Your soul is radiant! Humanity loves you!
..in my words.. 😊❤
makes me cry everytime. Reminds me of my escape from the paradise fire in 2018. It was hollowing.
Never saw The Hobbit. Never heard Ed Sheeran or had any idea who he was before this track. WOW. Just plain WOW. ❤ Did qi gong to this while looking out over the valley below me covered in the smoke of the Canadian wildfires. Powerful.
You need to watch the hobbit. You feel the song even more when it's in the right setting 😎👌
(edit: even though your setting seems quite relevant 😅)
Still one of the most unexpected and most amazing singers I've ever heard.
It’s so sad that even with no dragon this song stands to hold true for today!
one of the best end songs for a movie ever
This is a first Ed's song through witch I became acquainted with. Since then I have been absolutely delighted!
It is a great credit to a pop artist when metal bands cover your song. This one has so many metal covers I have lost count. A great song that crosses genres. I am not a fan of most pop artists as most top 40 stuff is formulaic, but Ed has a few songs that I have come to appreciate.
This Version is his best work ever
This song is simply magic and beautiful
To think Ed went from the director's cut, directly to the studio to record the soundtrack. Genius.
Aww the voice of Ed is just perfect
pun intended?
Fact!!!!
Ed’s voice is just perfect
I've waited for Ed all my life. The now G.O.A.T. musician. Tranquil to our souls.
Ed Sheeran is a generational talent
Beautiful song, just heard it on the radio again, it brought great pleasure again, I got charmed by it again after some time 👍🏾🤗🎶🌿☀️💗💕🌻
Musical master class! Such an underrated song. Ed is one of the best to ever do it! 🙌🏻
I listened to this as we were evacuated from B.C.'s wildfires in 2020...brought me to tears.
Yay but you really didn’t so….
Ed you are the soundtrack of my life. Feel like you read my life into beautiful music. Bless you beautiful soul.
This song gives me the shivers. It's a cocktail of sadness and joy. An Epic masterpiece. I love its gentle rhythm, just like a Lofi song. Thank you WaterTower Music for sharing it with us. Have a blessed day Y'all listening to this song ❤
thanks for taking me back to my childhood when times were more simple
My big bro introduced me to this song, we live in different provinces now but when i here this song its like he is next to me, i love that ninja, i would die for that bruv🥹😣👏🏽👏🏽
A song I go to when in pain or hardship. Masterpiece
I live with intractable pain. When it’s at its worst, as it often is, I’ll listen to this song over and over. It may be trite to say this, but it gives me the strength I need to deal with the overwhelming and extremely debilitating pain. The verse referencing “fire hollowing souls” truly speaks to me so profoundly! What words can better describe how our trials shape us as individuals both in this world and for the life to come, as they purify our very souls. This is the heart of Tolkien, and the essence of his Christian Faith as well as a theme he weaves throughout his writings. Thank you, Ed Sheeran, for this song that means so much to the many people who suffer ! ❤
My go to song when hurting
"Shall I just go on and...." and what Ed. Absolutely ace it, yes. Yes you should
The talent and humility are incredible - love Ed
At this time Ed's career he was barely national famous yet we can still see how he commands a studio with precision and expertise which has since moulded him well into the Worldwide artist we know and love! - Much love from Ireland
I went through this emotion before and the way I overcome is to leave and never look back. Find another person who wants you in his/her life. What’s meant for you can’t be taken away. This too shall pass. ❤
I just loved seeing him yesterday at his concert and when he sang I had to listen to it again I love it
I have this song on repeat today. It’s getting me through.
This song and Sam’s fire on fire
Для меня это очень талантливое исполнение песни!!!! Очень люблю слушать и петь вместе с эдом!!!!!
Still gives me chills 💙🎶💙
I do love this soooooo much. Nicely done guys. It's perfect.
🎶 Oh misty eye of the mountain below Keep careful watch of my brothers souls And should this sky be filled with fire and smoke 🎶
This song hits differently for those who are the direct lineage of genocide. So hard to listen to without bawling.
Exactly! Free 🍉
I DONT DIE SO EASY PERIOD
I'll confess wasn't much of a Sheeran fan, but this one is excellent.
I remember hearing this months after graduating High School 10 years ago, when me and my friends went to the midnight premiere... no other vibes could top that feeling at the end of the second Hobbit film.
one of my best Ed Sheeran songs. so beautiful...beyond words
❤ Horray For This British Singer 🇬🇧
Lo que me encanta de la construccion de la cancion es como va incresendo en intensidad, comienza suave en su voz y termina potente
Michael Jackson, prince, Bruno mars, ed Sheeran and the weeknd are my top 5 male musicians
Love his voice ❤❤❤
He is one of the most talented artist EVER!
This one sounds like a story that a troubadour, survivor of a catastrophe, would tell.
Bellissima versione. Chitarra e voce,Ed Sheeran sempre top!!😁💚
Was für eine klare Stimme.
I love this song. I'm speechless. It's his voice.
Literalmente minha musica favorita .muitas memorias e pensamentos
This is beautiful because he's saying let's all decide to jump off the bridge and risk killing ourselves to save the other like we used to and see there is the other side beyond that because he's done with this side and he's seeing the beauty in his own submission to self defeat to his self destruction in nature and the nature of his ending. He envisions the world burning together to not be alone in his goodbye and yet it is his final wish to forget all of this world to move beyond his next destiny. Her* Amen.
Wish he would’ve sung this during tour. My all time favorite of his
The fire inside myself cannot be extinguished. Desolation. I see fire. Blood in the breeze. I hear myself screaming out.
This is such a great song
It was the song being sang by Ms. Perfect for life in the 1st premonition I had after my baptism in 2012! BO! 🔥💯😇
this song will always be special for me, got me into music and singing, reminds me of covid when i would use it as an escape, reminds me of the hobbit...
I remember taking my first born, who’s 17 now, to see all of these three films. The scene where the father races to the tower to help his son shoot down the dragon, he reached into my lap and grabbed my hand and smiled at me as if to say, “we would do the same.” I get emotional thinking about it. I see fire... Thank you for this amazing, deep, and painfully symbolic song. Greetings from the brave Ukraine!
R.I.P Gregory Kinsey.... this song speakes to a magnitude of life and death... thank u ed sheeran
This song is really beautiful and I thank Ed Sheeran for this wonderful song.
That little beginning riff should be a song
Remember this song when I whatched this when I had covid, the vibe is just incredible
Prayers for Lahaina, Maui. Rest in peace and Aloha.😢
the fact that he literally participates in every sigle step of making the song is amazing.
That's what artists are supposed to do
But a lot of artist don’t which is why Ed Sheeran is so amazing
I'm reading the amazing comments here while I'm hearing this Incredible, I wish everyone who reads this a blessed life for you & your family, with Our Lord everything is Possible Peace from the Holyland
Ed Sheeran voice goes perfect on this song one of my favorite songs
I first read the hobbit and Lord of the rings when in was 8. When I saw Lord of the rings, and Gandalf fought the balrog, too many people were crying! I remember being put off at how few people were familiar with the story...
This song sets fire to my soul ❤
The lyrics of this song give me the energy of a hero. When i listen to this song. I feel like I can conquer the WORLD. And for 5.39 min i feel like i was in peace and happy...For 5,39 min
This song feels so out worldly
The Hobbit and this song introduced me to this brilliant guy. Loved him instantly!
Such a magical song.
I like the little intro guitar riffs
I think Mr Sheeran sees things through music notes... Everything he does is mastery....... Legend, but this song is timeless and makes me feel responsible for all my brothers, near and far and one's i have never met
Tears well up when I remember the journey... Ending with this song. ❤
Probably not the only one to say this, but this song is fire
