Made me quite sad to see this poor house, reminded me of my mothers childhood home near to Newry, now derelict and falling down , only three rooms in total and twelve children grew up there in relative poverty. When you look at this house see the life that passed through it and hope that it once again provides love warmth and comfort to future generations. Lovely to see it being saved.
I would like to suggest excavating the hillside at the back of the cottage at least 10' from the back wall. Use the excavated material to raise your street facing yard as you discussed in the video. Then I suggest building a berm and swale all along the top of the excavation to direct surface water coming down off the fields away from the cottage. Save that front door. It is beautiful :)
I would love a little cottage like this. Happy to see this being saved.
Makes my heart happy to see an old home given care and new life.
I think it's awesome that you are bringing this girl back to life...to see old homes over grown and decaying is heart breaking. Kudos to all of you that are involved!
Here in the US we have places where they collect parts from places being torn down, doors windows, sinks, tubs, toilets, wood flooring, whatever is salvageable. They sell it cheaply, and sometimes donate it. Maybe you should investigate, they probably have something similar in Ireland.
You could get 8'x4' plastic sheets that they use for conservatory roofs cheaply to board the windows- keep the rain out and let some light in!
Hello from Australia 🇦🇺 first time on your channel and I’m really just here to see this cottage come to life, hoping for more regular update videos cheers
This man makes me feel he can rule the world he gets stuff done and sorted .
An Air BnB would be a fantastic option for that historic cottage. I’m excited to see the progress
My dad lived there in that bog house years ago before I was born this is nice to see it all cleared out an will be deadly to see when finished up lad fair play good work
Could use it as a b&b to recover costs of the renovation then it could be a home for one of your kids when they’re older.
I remember gutting my house right down to the brickwork. it was over a 100 yrs old, they say they were craftmen back then. Not on my house they weren’t 😂.
The bloke running the excavator is fascinating to watch - such precision!
To wake up to that countryside view, bliss.
I love projects like this. I can’t wait to see it come to life again.🤗🐝❤️
“Arrr” That little room at the outside for sure was “The Bog”!👍👍
The house can be dressed up very nicely. Frame her in a good garden and it will look a treat
I have seen guys that have never laid brick and block do some nice rookie work. Even with knowhow folks can still end up a little out of normal perceptions so give it hell is what I say the old world charm is giving back life to something long dead is the real rewards.
Does my heart glad to see a derelict house given new life.
