Weston is such a lucky kid. I wish someone taught me how to id mushrooms when I was young. I like the part where your other buddy is checking out the trumpets and he offers his knife for him to use.
Nothing is stopping you now. It’s great to be able learn how to safely forage food as a kid, but as an adult, you’ll be able to pick up the skill faster.
@@mrdude88 I have 4 field guides for mushrooms in my area. I'm just saying I wish I learned when I was younger. My dad is more of a hunter, I killed and gutted my first deer when I was 13. I learned how to fish from him too. Fishing is my addiction. But knowing what mushrooms I can harvest while hunting is something I've having to learn now. Last fall while elk hunting I pushed some blue grouse, so we had foraged mushrooms and blue grouse with rice for a dinner. Sadly no elk.
@@heruhcanedean What's also cool is there's surely other wild ingredients your walking past that would be great additions to your dinner, life always has more to teach us.
@@ziggybender9125 I know a nice amount of wild greens that are safe in my area. I also have a herb garden so I don't have to worry about it too much. Something about mushrooms being able to kill you makes me a little timid about eating the ones I haven't 100% identified.

The coastal foraging videos are my favorite, and this one did not disappoint! More coastal foraging please 😊
Jocelyn is the mushroom whisperer! Good job, Jocelyn! Food looks delish, Taku!
she always finds the biggest ones !!!
Taku would make such a good dad.
One of my favorite episodes. I love it when kids are doing something new and get excited early on. Their eye light up. It's just fun to see. Great job!
Me … as soon as I see your video …. Ohhhhhhh yayyyy lol … I know I’m not the only one who gets happy when I see a new video of yours ❤️❤️❤️ watching from Saskatchewan, Canada 🇨🇦
You got you a nice truffle hound there aka Jocelyn 😂❤
Taku.. What a wonderful job teaching, the next generation of fishing folks!! Admiration !!
Taku sounds like an awesome Uncle or Dad I want to go hangout with cause I’d be exploring and having adventures all the time!
It's great seeing you teach the younger generation how to forage! Think that's something that isn't passed down enough
You are knockin' it out of the park recently. Mushrooms, clams, crab, rockfish. It all looks amazing. Respect.
I am freaking drooling. Some of my favorite things. Clams, mushrooms, and rice
Jocelyn sorry if I misspelled … she is your good luck charm 🍀 That girl gets the biggest fish, the best mushrooms… She’s the Foraging Queen!
I am watching this brilliant video from Paris, everything that I like in one video, the Hunter-Gatherer lifestyle, foraging for Sea Food and Mushrooms and bringing them home and cleaning and cooking it 👨🏽🍳 Another Top Notch Video from Taku 👏
Amazing video! It was really nice to see you teach Weston and see her enjoy the process!
This is one of my favorite videos Taku-love the content and love your interaction with the family, especially teaching the next generation how to forage. And as always we love when you and Jocelyn are tag teaming together :)
like all my favorite foraging activities combine in one! the meal part is always the most rewarding after a day of foraging.
Wow I have never seen so many different types of mushrooms in 1 place so cool i would most definitely be in mushroom heaven. Great video
this is such a throwback to your early videos foraging! congrats on your success and growth, wishing you a kickass 2023 Taku!
Taku. You need to think bigger and better. With Jocelyn as your “Lady Luck” you can’t lose. She finds the largest mushrooms, catches the largest fish, she always outdoes everyone! My suggestion to you is to think outside of the box and try gold prospecting here in California or visit “Crater of Diamonds State Park” in Arkansas. With the lovely Jocelyn’s luck she will make both of you rich!
Very satisfying. I've missed coastal foraging and pole poling videos and you topped it with some super mushrooming. Much love hommes! Thanks for the video.
Taku’s eyecrometer is on point! Lol👌🏾
Start em young, way to go Taku. Can't wait for lil Taku or Jocelyn
You’re pretty good with kids, Taku! Beautiful mushrooms.
This looks so fun and the food is ALWAYS delicious on this channel. Taku is so good with Weston and I can't help but think that him and Jocelyn would have such cute and cool kids 😊
Amazing adventure with Taku and Jocelyn! 💕
I need friends who forage!! Looks like so much fun and yum!!
I love your content from making sushi to fishing and shroom 🍄 hunting
crazy haul! the pot pie looks amazing too 😯😯
KZhead must invent smell-o-vision immediately. Beautiful haul y'all!
I love the fact that most of your recepies are quite simple. Limited amounts of ingredients, and mostly available ingredients. Quite a few of this dishes is doable onboard my sailboat, or on the beach.
Such a wonderful day with Chef Taku!
Oh man, how cute is Weston
I enjoyed this whole episode! Wish I could taste both dish. And the other fam is into it as well, just enjoyed everyone having fun. Wes is a cool kid! Keep up with these blessed experiences!
A little bit of all my favorites! I LOVE this friggin episode!!😍
This is a really outstanding episode. The young person did a great job and I really enjoy when Taku brings on other really interesting people to the channel. Like on the last episode when Taku had his friend on the show foraging during the first half and then out of nowhere he actually becomes a sushi chef prodigy. I’m still Moderately traumatized by that
Those parents did a great job because that kid is super cool!!👍 Hey why aren't you toasting? because I don't have anything to drink... 😂
“My first oneeeee; I’m gonna pet it & love it” 🤣🤣
I love watching these foraging videos.
lets go perfect video to enjoy dinner
My theory about why Jocelyn is so much better at foraging is that, because of her height, her eyes are closer to the ground than Taku's. 😁
When you have Smurfy blue hair, you can see things much better.
Actually, she is quieter and observant. Less Ego.
It’s more that she is purely searching and he’s searching, filming and hosting a show
@@CollegeChef1 He said, in one of his earliest foraging vids, that she was better than him.
😂😂😂
That cauliflower mushroom was so cool great job J. The pot pie looked so good. This was one of my favorite episodes. Learned a lot thank you.
I find these videos super relaxing. Keep up the good content.
That surf and turf got to be the bomb that little girl went in for second serving ,😋
Pine and Chantelle mushrooms, i do not miss picking these things as a child. Growing up in an immigrant family, i had to pick these so i could sell to buy school cloths and supplies.
Taku seems most excited to eat this meal. 👍🏼
Wow great Foraging harvest ! Looks great , and good info on the dangers .Awesome video and meal .
It’s really enjoyable to see your amazing activities digging mushrooms clams and then make food. Well done bro!!!
Keep up the quality content Taku!
See you pull out that Monkey-Faced Eel reminded me of the vid of you and Hiro-san and that massive Eel. I can already hear Hiro-san popping out and saying "Good Afternoon"
So cool. Never thought of a "clam chowder" pot pie. Joking! Looked Daaaaam delicious. Would love to try that rice too. Great stuff as always.
I'm going nuts over here ! The combined flavor of those fresh clams and the variety of mushrooms is insane ! The flavor union must be awesome ! Thanks for sharing !
I wish I could go on an adventure with you!! Love your recipes and videos!! Thank you!!!!❤❤❤
FUTURE Taku Parenting 101! ❤
Everything looks Delicious!
It was a lot of work gathering But look how great it turned out. You guys are the best thanks
That roue looked amazing Chief. Would have loved to taste it. Like the fact you use most of the creature you catch. And I'm just getting into foreging mushrooms this year after winter.
amazing foraging! and the food cooked is just mouth watering.. nicely done.
The pot pie looked soooooo good
WHAT A MUSHROOM SCORE DANG 🎉
On our farm in Montana, before we sold it, you could find puffballs the size of basketballs that were pure white on the inside. Large enough that you can cook a 1” thick mushroom steak that will fill an entire large cast iron pan with one slice.
LETS GOOOO TAKUUU & JOCELYNNN!!!!!
I loved this video!!! Thank you -- it was very fun to watch and informative!
Love your videos. So interesting, relaxing, and exciting….every time you simmer chopped onions and garlic I smell it. My favourite thing.
I’m a hard core KZhead watcher and I very very rarely ever comment. But from the east coast i went real hard on you channel. Definitely looking forward to new episodes! Ya’ll are awesome people
Very wholesome video! Watching you guys brought smile to my face. Reminds me when i used to go fishing with my dad when i was a kid :)
Saludos Taku and saludos Jocelyn
Thank you!! This was so nice to watch. The best of the best. Greetings from Halifax!!
Great finds! What a beautiful adventure. ❤
Absolutely beautiful! Loved watching you guys having some good fun foraging. And oh my God, the seafood pot pie is the food of the gods I’ve never even heard of that. I wish I could find a group of people to teach about how to find mushrooms I’ve always wanted to do that, I love to cook. And I absolutely love pot pies. You guys are absolutely beautiful! ❤❤
Looks like another great day outdoors!
Another great👍
Those dishes are insane. You lead a charmed life my dude, cheers
For me,the 👌 episode you've ever made, and I've seen most of them. Really impressive 👏 👌.
I love Dwight and Taku collabs!
One of my favourite videos to date. Love from South Africa❤️
You guys are amazing with all the find. ❤️
Taku is good at everything
Such a wholesome video, I liked this very much.
Wow what a mushroom haul!! Enjoy New Zealand!
Wow, you got some matsutake! I think they're the most valuable mushroom
Absolutely amazing I bet!
What a fantastic episode. I love mushrooms so much. I live in Texas and the stores around here used to get shipments of fresh, wild mushrooms; including lobster, hedgehog, black trumpet, oyster, blue foots, yellow foots, chanterelles, and Lion mane...but they stopped getting them in recently and I miss them very much 😢
Love to see this. I grew up picking mushrooms for a living. Matustake and black trumpet are my favorite this time of the year. Seasonal for those mushrooms. Try foraging wild morels when the season comes up. The big matsutake are great on the grill with olive oil and just salt and pepper
*I’ll refer you to this online store I bought some grams of NN DMT shrooms Adderal lean Lsd chocolate bars Xanax and other psychedelic stuffs and he also ship discreetly to any location***
This might be my all time favorite favorite upload. Keep up the awesome content! Cheers from Colfax CA
Im soooo jealous!!! I loved picking Pine Mushrooms in BC.
Yummy! Great vid Taku!
Not to add to the amazing work that you already do on your vids, but it would be cool if you did a few guided clamming and poke pole sessions. I would def pay for that.
Ok Taku, now you got me going for some potpie of my own, partridge moose, and my reserve dried wils mushrooms from this last year. Man, you make everything look so good.
Craving that pop pie, god dayum
This has to be one of your most amazing dinner's yet. Looks soooooooo good man you're eating good tonight. Wow 😳
your wifey is my fave person yo lol shes so sweet and reminds me of my wife
So jealous you got something to do season round, I'm stuck up in the North with snow and ice and it's pretty hard to find clams when they're stuck below 3 ft of snow and ice.
loved your trip to Niue. it was an awesome Video
taku, when you harvest mushrooms, you should cut them at the base instead of pulling them out, if you do that, they'll grow in the same spot again, and then you can have a honey hole
The little girl was so proud of her knife
Now it’s time to have your own family dynamic, and raise a beautiful seed to its full potential👌🏻
Everything looks so good as always!😍 I'm over here freaking drooling... Mmm🤤

Nice haul of 'shrooms Taku. The puffball species to eat is the giant puffball. You have to get them while they are small (less than 16 inch diameter) and young while the inside is white. The beetles love to bore through them as they get older and the inside turns yellow. When they're ready to release spores we refer to them as "wolf farts". As far as preparation, they're usually sliced, battered and fried (or baked). Puffball parmigiana is delicious, but I have friends that make puffball melts (with ham and swiss) and puffball french toast. You could even do a puffball katsu. Not necessarily fine dining but very tasty nonetheless. My favorite will always be hen of the woods (maitake). Such a versatile mushroom with that quintessential forest floor smell.
13:08 lmao omg I wish u were one of my uncles whilst growing up. 😂
