3:55 A live human was cheaper than buying longer steel poles to poke the clog at the bottom of the pile.

They are not "poking the clog" at all . They are removing the plates that stop the belt getting overloaded by the weight of the load . Educate yourself or pay more attention to what is going on right in front of you .
