Today is a day we've all been waiting for... Rex is moving into the zoo!! Ahhh!! She is LOVING it so far, as seen by her even bellowing- something she's never done before!!

Rex is the happiest crocodilian I've ever seen in captivity, probably helped by her size. Regardless, I'm so happy to see her in such a good home doing so many natural behaviours!

I honestly cried at this. Rex has been on such a journey, huh? From crammed in a little box for years and years, to a beloved character on the channel, to her own special exhibit and delighting so many kids and adults in person. It genuinely made me emotional when she was bellowing at Ed's drill. It's like she's truly at home. What a wonderful set up and I hope to take the road trip to see it one day ❤
Right? I think this is the happiest I think we've seen Rex on this channel. She looks so at peace and happy in her new enclosure. She also seems more energetic and less bored which is so fantastic for her. Really happy for her, she deserves the best!
I did to. I'm so Happy for Her. I really Hope that Rex's story teaches People, that not all animals are pets. Alligators 🐊 should be injoyed in the Wild. And only Place that can house them properly.

@@rachelm6734 Or it's the opposite - when there's a child in the pop-up tube, Rex thinks "this human is stuck in this tiny enclosure, while I can walk all the way around her. I could even swim if I wanted. This human must have such a boring life."
@@rachelm6734 (Seriously though, Rex might get to leave her enclosure sometimes for programs, but in her her old home, Emily said she never tried to escape her bedroom, even though she could see through the open door. Alligators are very territorial, Rex needs to stick to her territory so she can protect it!)
Legit started crying when Rex bellowed; that's so cool and just shows even more how much she's progressed and how happy she is with her home! So happy to see her in the zoo I wish I could visit!
Alligator bellows are one of my absolute favorite noises ever, and seeing that in this video, and seeing Emily's reaction to being able to feel it... Absolutely made my day.

Kinda wonder if they'll be installing a speaker or something to play drill/gator sounds to encourage that on occasion. Would be super cool to hear her bellow while in the tunnel/dome!

Ed has really grown more comfortable on film and I love that.
i didnt realize just how small rex actually is until she got her new enclosure. its so crazy to see her have so much room to move around and play... its heartwarming to see her so happy. we love you rex 🐊
When I saw her in person *hint thats me in the video in the dome in the green coat* I was visually shocked at the size shes only like 3 feet long before her tail.
I have noticed, since she lays on Emily's lap.

The way she came right up to you while half asleep omgosh shes adorable! So happy she likes her new home and all the attention shes getting!
Two things I did not expect to see today: 1. Emily in a bathing suit (love the pattern, by the way!) 2. Rex FINALLY in her zoo enclosure! She looks so happy!

I am so happy for Rex. The fact she's being so active and displaying more natural behavior, I think, means she's really happy! Her brain is being exercised even more now. It's so awesome to see

When it was being built, just on camera, her enclosure looked so small. It's amazing to see how big it is with Rex actually inside! I'm so happy for her.

She seems 1000% times happier. While her old enclosure was great you can tell this is really special for her. When Rex first saw people she was obviously so excited!

Thank you so much for your videos. My daughter found them on her tablet and has been watching them almost nonstop the last few days. Last night we were able to see Rex via the live stream for the first time thanks to your instructions in this video. I like that my daughter can learn new things while doing one of her favorite pastimes. Watching videos!

It's unreal seeing Rex in such a big home after all these years, I'm so excited to see her getting used to it. You should put a vinyl outline on the glass next to her backstory tag that shows how big the tiny box her first owner had her in was

Emily is absolutely amazing in so many ways I personally have always wanted to work around alligators snakes and other reptiles it has just always seemed so exciting to me I still have a lot to learn myself but emily is the cutest a truly wonderful woman

Y’all, she started out in a tiny box, and now look at her! 😭 It’s amazing how much she’s changed since the beginning of the channel even. She’s grown, her snout has straightened, her teeth are opaque and healthy looking! Now she has a huge gator mansion! I’m so glad that y’all were able to do this for her.
My first time here was Sunday and I was very surprised, you would never know how nice it is inside from the outside of the building my daughter loved it!

I am so happy for Rex. She has a pool she can't destroy, she has a whole lotta space to hang out in and she seems comfortable enough with the new kind of attention she gets! Couldn't be better!

I honestly think Rex can feel the love pouring out of Emily's voice when she speaks to Rex. They may be reptiles, but that doesn't mean they're braindead. I'm sure she knows Emily anywhere.
Braindead? No Capable of experiencing or understanding love? Also no That’s reptiles for you. We humans tend to anthropomorphise our pets, but reptiles just aren’t wired like us.
@@QWERTYOP80 true, but crocodilians are some of the most intelligent reptiles around, and they’re certainly capable of positive and negative feelings. They know and respond to what they like and dislike, and Rex seems to like and trust Emily. Sure, it may not be what humans define as “love”, but it’s as darn close as an alligator can get.

This is a perfect demo of how giving an animal more space to live in and explore is always a good choice and appreciated by animals that feel safe and have their needs met. Rex had great space to thrive in her room, but now she has the room to live even more.

Seeing Rex so happy exploring the opportunities of her larger enclosure makes me teary eyed. As a stunted pet-raised alligator I don't think she could have a better life than what you guys are giving her.

I was worried Rex's enclosure would be too small because it would be tiny for a full-grown alligator, but I don't think I realized just how small Rex is! That enclosure seems nice and big for her.
I would agree that yes that enclosure would be incredibly small for like an eight or nine foot alligator, Rex is 4 or 5 ft long if I remember correctly, so that would probably be about a good size for her
Rex's Growth was stunted because of misstreatement at her last home so she's pretty small I would guess only like 3 feet.

My gargoyle actually responds to me, and has a particular dislike for my sister. She likes me especially, and my dad as well. Then, my box turtle knows I’m the food mama, and stares excitedly when I walk by. He also really likes my mom, since she feeds him too.

I saw a dome one time at a aquarium in my area. Sadly it was closed because of covid. I hope my family could go back there so I could see in that dome. Ur video reminded me of that time.
I'm amazed how quickly Rex adapted to having tons of people watching her. When I saw in previous videos how she'd stop playing when Emily or Ed came into her room, I did actually wonder then whether once she was on display she'd hide all the time and only come out when the zoo was closed. Turns out she only hid for 1 DAY and was playing in front of everyone by day three. She seems so happy and it's great that so many people get to enjoy her, in so far as you can ever tell, Rex seems to be enjoying them too.
I know! I wonder if she'd stop playing when Emily or Ed visited because she wasn't as used to people yet, or if she was hoping Emily or Ed might feed her... Or, if in her heart-of-hearts, she knew Emily would be mad about her spilling all the water out of her pool again, and didn't want to be caught in the act. XD

Would be much fun to be in that pool TOGETHERE with Rexie, wonder how he would behave. He doesn't play when they're watching cuz he's just observant for them or thinking maybe he'll get fed. What a beautiful, smiling, timeless animal.. And his skin looks like it's made of rocks or so, i'd just love to pet or cuddle an animal like that, looks rly domesticated, alltho i understand it's not made to be a pet. Unless you're rich and make the perfect room for him with everything & secure etc..

Her lil bellow is the cutest thing on earth. Didn’t know alligators could be so adorable and nice. So happy that she moved from being in a tiny box for years to being an amazing inspiration of a creature. It’s crazy to think that billions of years of evolution resulted in such a fascinating creature.
