Lyrics:
teardrops
we hurt ourselves for fun
force feed our fear until our hearts go numb
addicted to a lonely kind of love.
what i wanna know..
is how we got this stressed out,
paranoid
everything is going dark
nothing makes me sadder than my head.
i’m running out of teardrops
let it hurt ‘til it stops
i can’t keep my grip
i’m slipping away from me
oh god, everything is so fucked
but i can’t feel a thing
the emptiness is heavier than you think.
i’m tripping on the edge
high as a kite, i’m never coming down.
and if you hear me
guess you know how it feels
to be alone
so how’d we get this stressed out?
paranoid
everything is going dark
nothing makes me sadder than my head.
suicidal, violent tragic state of mind.
lost my halo, now i’m my own anti-christ.

    • I dont mind the vocals, Oli sounds just fine, but the music is simply way too mainstream, boring and non-inspiring, at least for the likes of me it is. This stuff is made to please the masses, it has nothing to with metal anymore, and it's been like that for ages.. and that's fine, for a lot of people at least, but they've let down a lot of fans of their older stuff, just so they could make more with the newer.

  • "Teardrops" by Bring Me the Horizon is a song that delves into themes of pain, resilience, and personal growth. The track explores the inner turmoil and struggles that individuals face, particularly in moments of hardship and emotional upheaval. The lyrics, peppered with vivid imagery and introspective expressions, present a raw and honest portrayal of a person grappling with their own demons. The song's overarching theme revolves around the notion of tears and the metaphorical weight they carry. Tears, traditionally associated with sadness and vulnerability, are depicted as a symbol of strength and empowerment in "Teardrops." The lyrics suggest that shedding tears, although a sign of pain, can also serve as a catalyst for personal growth and self-discovery. Furthermore, "Teardrops" touches upon the concept of resilience and the ability to overcome adversity. It encourages listeners to embrace their struggles and use them as stepping stones towards personal transformation.

Depression causes this basal point to be lower than normal. All you can do is stop it from getting too low. It takes an actual doctor to bring the basal point back up. If you're reading this and you have depression, PLEASE just take a moment to open google and look at even online help. There's plenty out there.

  • Lyrically, visually and musically this is perfection. And the video, i find it all to be symbolic. For example at 2:53 it's like Oli's bandmates rescuing him, and there are multiple references to his ketamine addiction. But i also think this song is about those of us in this generation just going through the absolute worst. Shining a light on the withered and faded soldiers. This song reminds me of Sempiternal too (esp the song Empire) man this song is gonna be on repeat in my head i can tell. And its also funny how, this song came out at a time when I feel each of these lines, so intensely, it's almost tangible.

    • Lol...no. The only shade of Sempiternal in any of these 4 new songs was the breakdown in Ludens...and any remnants of There is a Hell and Suicide Season (and obviously Count Your Blessings) are totally absent. Other than that, these new songs, if anything, are a slightly heavier version of That's The Spirit and Amo. Now I love all 4 songs that they've released, but people need to stop comparing their new shit to Sempiternal because it's nothing like it lmao.
