The confidence that mechanics have to touch strange substances with their bare hands will always astound me
Only so many fluids in a car.
Does Customer EVER state, "I drove the ever-lovin' shit out of it until it wouldn't move anymore."?
I have, except I didn’t take it to a shop, it was an 03 ford explorer that I got with 500,000 miles on it, I pushed her to 800,000, kept up on maintenance, took care of her, but one day she said no
Yes, my first winter car, a '77 Chevette. Bought it at 500k, killed it at 990k, but kept the maintenance up through that period until the motor mounts broke.
The first car I bought, the guy told that to me; he wasn't kidding either. I rebuilt it from the ground up. Ah the days when you could actually work on cars without the need for a computer to do your work for you...
nothing wrong owning a car and not having the thumbs for the grease work.. but then you sure as fk should respect the rules when to go to a workshop for x y and z... and also dont whine on the pay to do it properly rather then fk it up yourself and mutilate the machine into scrap in the process
If they don't want to cash in their insurance yeah
Those "bumps" and "potholes" are probably actually called "curbs." LOL
Yes, Driving over Curbs tend to rip and Smash everything underneath the Car.

I may be confusing a clip with another one of these. I've been bingeing. But how about when the mechanic says, "states, ran over a hubcap, (undercarriage is a complete mess) that's one helluva hubcap"
It never ceases to amaze me how much "f*cked up" people are completely fine with.
When you understand how stupid the average person is and realize that half of them are stupider than that.
When I grow up, I am going to own a car. It does not seem to require any intelligence nor common sense to have one.
I've never understood why people go to horror movies but I'm sitting here with my popcorn, terrified at every new plot twist!!
I find this to be more like black comedy, but it does blur the line with horror
"Up-sell me?" If 90% of these cars rolled into my shop, I would lock them down and make the customer sign a waiver and release to get their keys back, and then I would tell them to get their POS out of my shop and never come back.
وماذا ستصلح سيارة البنتلي أو المازيراتي 🤣
I was thinking the same thing. Video the issues and email them to them as well...
Better than me I'd be asking a member of staff to ring the police and the car taken and scrapped. Shouldn't be on the road 😔
That's not legal in most states, holding peoples car hostage is scummy
Ye, here in Germany, 95% of these cars would be immediately taken off the road, it helps to have fairly strict regulations of what's considered roadworthy,
"where tf the oil cap?" that got me. i did that ONCE and vow to never forget again. that mess took days to clean out of the engine bay.
Me too, got the oil covered t-shirt to prove it.
@@jeffsullivan3101 HAHA! A forever memory lesson.
When customers tell me they need brakes I learned that there’s no telling what you are about to encounter. I’ve seen calipers on backwards, broken rotors, broken spindles, no bearings, the possibilities are limitless
Normally dying battery sounds in electronics make me laugh, but there's something oddly musical about that dying battery car alarm.
Even as somebody that knows nothing about cars, it amazes me how people can let their vehicles get this torn up.
I couldn't agree more the lack of common sense is astounding (educated car mechanic myself)
I found it to be due to laziness and having no respect for your own investment or your future. If You have no problem treating a 35k investment like a piece of toilet paper I can only imagine how bad the rest of your life is.
@@marknelson4856I work with a dude who drives an older toyota. 08 or 12 can't remember Corolla. He'll be in a customer states video one day. His car is a dump. Like the one in here. Front pass. seat has a mound of trash. Ashtray overflowing. I happened to look in one day and thought to myself holy shit!!! Yeah, hes a mess himself, so you're not wrong man.
It has a lot to do with money. Especially in this economy
A lot to be said for yearly rego inspections
I had a customer in the 70s with a Toyota no ac plain car. Her only belt broke and the Alt light came on. She took her pantyhose off and tied them around the pulleys and drove to the shop
Lmao
SAME!! But it was the 80s, a first date, in a 62 Ford truck, and MY pantyhose!!! 😂
Smart woman, considering that she knew exactly what to jerry-rig to get her home and safe. A rarity!
I'm often amazed at the ingenuity of some people. Now, some just do the dumbest things in the world, hence the video above us. Some though, like the pantyhose thing, can figure out EXACTLY what to do to get them home or to the shop or wherever without doing much, if any, lasting damage to their vehicle! Bravo
But pantyhose won't work on every car. A lot of newer vehicles run higher loads on belt, and pantyhose would just slip on crank pulley.
I am totally mind-blown that people don't think of their own safety and let their cars get to the point of being a total death trap. The reason is what? Money? No money in the world can replace a person. I am an educated car mechanic myself and if any of these cars would come by me, I would have them sign a form that relieve me of any responsibility if the customer doesn't want repairs so I can't be held reliable for any damages, or accident that might happen due to the state of the car
No money in the world is kinda the problem yeah
These are the same people that probably just spent $200 on shoes though.

Customer States: Denies Repairs
Customer came in requesting waterpump replacement. They " repaired" it but started leaking again. They poured at least 10 packs of JB Weld on the entire pump and pump was stuck to timing cover. It took an hour of grinding just to access the bolts.
Dear God man, leave some for the rest of us 🤣
This proves how totally inept a lot of people are when it comes to the basics in car maintenance and general care.
Decades ago, my friend's grandfather was hit and killed while attempting to change a flat tire in the safety lane on the freeway. I taught my kids to never stop on the shoulder of a busy highway if the car can still roll under power. In the case of a flat. You can always buy a new wheel. So, move to the outer shoulder and roll slowly to the next exit and access the situation in a parking lot or driveway. Your life is irreplaceable.
That alarm sounds awesome I could really jam out to that beat
Didn’t someone make a remix out of a dying car alarm a long time ago?
Drifting and burnout trend will get a lot of shops rich.
Saw a 2017 Camaro SS with the 6.2 liter and about 30,000 miles on the odometer with a rod through the block about 2 weeks ago. 19 year old kid just bought it apparently and it still had temporary plates on it. All of the rear tire tread was on the rear inner wheel well liners. Warranty claim......good luck!
@@Guillotines_For_GlobalistsFucking A. Hey, a douche car, ruined by a douch kid.
definitely not a trend it was a thing before all this 😂
A coworker told me his windshield wipers quit working. He tied his shoelaces to the arms. He and his passenger pulled the laces back and forth. 😂
Yeah...there's videos of that on the internet. We had a wiper motor go out here, recently. I made a suggestion to the boss that we do that---he didn't seem too amused! lol
Honestly I put a clutch disc in backwards in H.S. auto shop. Classmates played a joke on me. The new disc had a sticker that read: "Flywheel side." They switched the sticker to the wrong side. Ha ha fooled me! And yes a Chevy V8 1st gen clutch will make noise and still move.
first time ive ever laughed at a broken car.... "Kachow"
Just think that these types of cars are ALL around you on the roads... How anyone makes it anywhere is amazing to me...
That guy: "2023 with 4,000 miles, full of forbidden milkshake." YT captions: 2023 with 4,000 miles full of forbidden [ERROR 404: milkshake not found] Uh, yep. KZhead captions at their weirdest.
There WAS a movie on here that was about "Vlad the Impaler" (Vladimir Dracul -- the source of the "Count Dracula" movies--his real life story). In the start it shows him about to ram a stick up someone's back side to punish them for their sins (as he actually was known to do in real life); the person is screaming... oh no no no no. KZhead captions were, Yes, more more more more! lol I think they did that on purpose!
I uh, think that Vladimir Dracul was IRL Dracula, correct me if I'm wrong there.@@nobody7817
I have a 2010 fusion, took to shop as the A/C heating was slowing down, found out it had a cabin filter that was never changed. Did not know it had one. It was replaced and works great now.
7:07 That messed up alarm goes from frog call, to laughing, to sick chiptune beat 😂
As someone who currently has some front end suspension problems with my 13 year old mustang, I feel attacked by all these suspension clips 😂
Why is your 13-year old driving a car?!
@@Boyso5407 it autocorrected mate and it ain’t supposed to be there
Get it fixed before you become part of the landscape yourself. Unless you really know what you're doing, do not attempt it yourself--you'll never get the alignment even close to correct.
A customer brought me his 2wd Toyota pickup, said the headgasket needed replaced. It had chocolate milk so thick it wouldn't drain out and was knocking. After I called him back, I found out the headgasket had blown a month and a half earlier, so he just changed the oil every week until he could get it serviced. Which means he drove it every day for 45 days and 5 oil changes.
Jesus christ😂😂😂
and people ask me why i detail cars rather than fix them being a trained mechanic, i already have enough "wtf moments"
DO you mechanics call the cops to have the cars impounded when you find such dangerou cars..??
When I was a mechanic, and we noticed vehicle frames like the ones in these videos, we would call the DOT (Government Dept. of Transport) and have an inspector come out for a look. A lot of times, they'd rip the plates off of the vehicle while still on the hoist. We didn't care if the customer said it was ok. It was all the other drivers, and family members on the road that could get killed because of stupidity that concerned us!
Nope never seen this also don’t live in the rust belt so idk lol
Depends on what state and their laws. I've tried to do that on a car with no brakes but my state allowed it to leave. I was so mad that it drove out like it did. Put his child's life and everyone else's life's in danger.
I just remembered I have a zip tie holding down my distributor cap in 98 Chevy 5.7. If you know, you know....
That won't hurt anyone really. Worst case scenario your truck stalls out.
Time to get a new vehicle. Get rid of that trashy truck. I have to have the newest vehicle. I just bought a 2024 hyundai elantra hybrid, and it has all the tech I want. Cars from 2018 and older are just trash, especially cars from the 90s, 80s, 70s, etc.

These will generally be the people flying by you at 20 mph over the speed limit.
Oh yeah bigger pcs of sh*t they own more immoral they feel
Friend of mine had a nissan stanza. I lived in a motel that was directly behind an off ramp on a highway. I'm walking to the trash and u hear clack ,clack, clack, clack, boom, boom, boom. I see smoke. Mind you there is a wall that covers 75 percent of cars his size coming around the curve. All i see is smoke and the roof of an ugly rusted shit box. Dude comes flying in the parking lot pulls the emergency brake and slides into parking spot. Tires is leaning out about 10 inchs. We jack the car up and literally lifted the tire off the studs and there was still rim around the studs with the lug nuts on. Rim came off studs with no effort. 😅lucky sob..
I think the ability to do basic service on a vehicle should be a part of your license and insurance. These types are vehicles are unguided bombs.
Some people shouldn't be allowed to drive or own a car
Every time I see these videos, I am happy that here in Europe, we have annual or bi-annual inspections of all cars, no matter how old. 😅
Some states still have inspections, but for the most part no. Smog checks in most, and money. Money solves all mechanical problems haha
Nope; not in all of Europe. In Belgium, without tow ball, you only need inspection from the 5th year onwards…
@@fendalynn6604 Yeah, from 4 years also many places, but problem is not 0-5 year old cars, but old junk that is never maintained or inspected. ;)
I don’t know the procedure in the States but here in the UK, a yearly MOT, (ministry of transport) test, is mandatory, there is no way half of these vehicles would be allowed on the road. If a vehicle did come into a garage, and the customer refused to have vital work done to make it safe, and the garage let it go, if that vehicle then caused an accident that garage could be held responsible to some degree for allowing to leave on the road.
Not all the inspection stations here in the US actually enforce everything they should. And here you sign a liability waiver if they refuse vital work.
عن ماذا تتكلم ان السلاح في الشوارع 🤣🤣
Inspections are only required in some states.
@@lindsaycarr4354 Used to be in every State, and they used to be fairly uniform on their requirements. Now? Not so much.
Mandatory state vehicle inspections would catch most of these problems before they kill someone.
Agggh thet sounds to much like socalism (you know taking care of every one equally and safety on the roads or we don't want no government interference with our freedom to drive a potential death machine 🤣😂🤣
There are always places where an extra 20 bucks gets you a pass, regardless of the condition of the vehicle.
@@tw4231In Germany there are companies which are doing the control, not the auto shops. The control can be done in the shop, but under the witness of the guy from the inspection company. And if the car is not safe and you were letting it through you will get a big fine or go to jail. So no, there are no cars like this on the road in Germany.
Brakes and tires need to be maintained
@@georgeszilva1223 Yeah... who cares about bearings and front ends, 'U' joints, and the such. If the car loses an axle and the driver veers to that side only to hit another car and send them down a ravine... who cares as long as the bakes and tires are in great shape!?!?!?
people really gotta start undersealing their vehicles around the rust belt, it just destroys everything, several coats too
That alarm sounds like a bad video game.
Holy batman, I NEVER imagined someone could literally break a crank shaft.😬
If you think that's bad, wait till you see an engine throw a Main Cap
It's more common than you'd expect.
28:26 This is why I just keep fixing my old Jetta. Some of this is pretty scary. But I saw some even scarier things when I worked major overhaul on cargo planes that operated in third world countries. I fixed hinges on an access door that was about to blow out because someone thought it would be OK to put a metric automotive bolt in a hole meant for an SAE aircraft bolt. Literally would have taken another flight or two to fail. I've seen major structural damage that wasn't repaired correctly and a whole bunch of other things that made my jaw drop.
Kudos to the 6 out of several dozen or so that turned the phone sideways, thank you !
Yeah, people are stupid. That is soooo annoying. Sometimes i wonder if people have positioned their TV on it's side too...
I've often said this would be a great job but for the customers!
A garage I used to go to had a baldie of the week contest, the winning tyre would be displayed in reception for all to see.

These are anxiety inducing to watch😂 but I also now understand who causes oil changes to take so long, it's not the mechanics, it's cars link these in line ahead of me😂
As a person who isn't a mechanic and sees all these clips, I'm seriously worried about the moron drivers nowadays
The part from the Dodge's oil pan that the tech couldn't ID was the remains of the hydraulic actuator that adjusts detonation knock, or the timing tensioner (some damned how). I've been blessed with both in oil pan at different times. 😅
Basic rule of thumb, change the oil every 5 thousand miles, every oil change, change your filters ( air filter also) , rotate your tires. A good mechanic will do a thorough inspection of your vehicle while doing the job. My mechanic ( Christian Brothers Automotive) they take a picture of everything while they are doing it and show it to you during their work).

Its honestly SAD at how many people know SO LITTLE about how cars work. I mean by the time i was 17 i had taken my 1986 Trans-am COMPLETELY APART and put it back together. I took out the engine, transmission, fly wheel, steering column, EVERYTHING and put it back. I knew that car like the back of my hand.
