The Mansell one is almost iconic. That's downhill at more than full tilt into a hairpin and his tyre went. The way he held that car as the back was desperately trying to overtake the front was masterful.
Actually it is a slightly uphill run to the hairpin. But yes the tyre exploded so bad luck to Mansell

Mansell's is heartbreataker, the team never let him pit in for rubber and he was +30secs. He could have had a free stop and still be world champion that day.
My conclusion after this video is its up to the tyres to make F1 interesting when the sport itself fails year after year.

No I re watched the race a few days ago it definitely was a "mal-misorganisation" problem. I think he said it with a 1/2 second gap between so it could have been cut fairly seamlessly

He was already 25 points down on Rosberg before the season even began in Australia after he had an engine failure right at the start, while on pole position. In Canada retired because of an ERS failure after passing Rosberg for the lead. In Germany, he had a brake failure in qualifying, had to start last. In Hungary, he had a turbo failure in qualifying, had to start from the pit lane. Also, he had another DNF in Belgium as well. Rosberg also had problems out of his control but not as much as Hamilton. Overall Hamilton had significantly more reliability problems over the course of the season than Rosberg in 2014.

Had he matched the strategies of the other two championship contenders (which is what received wisdom tells you to do if you're leading the standings) he would have finished third (at the very least), and Raikkonen would have been mathematically out of it. Worth noting that this video doesn't include his puncture at the 2007 Turkish GP and the tyre failure in qualifying at the Nurburgring that sent him to the back of the grid. Had any one of these three instances not happened, he would have won the title that year.

Kimi was used to driving Michelin tyres, before 2007, Massa had already driven Bridgestones all his career, so that flattered Massa in 2007 and 2008 - it was clear Kimi had MAJOR setup issues with the car in 2007 and 2008. Kimi is a far better driver as were all of the other drivers who beat Massa in the same team like Fisichella, Alonso, Bottas, and Heidfeld. Stroll wasn't even that far behind in the WDC lmao......
