- It’s because the purpose is to look good while moderately protecting the phone. Not every single case more expensive than 1$ has to protect the camera because this one case did.

- I literally changed my iPhone 14 pro max Otterbox case to a cheap tpu Halloween case I got off of Temu for 3 bucks & I love the fact the cameras are covered. I’ve dropped it about 2 times since the time I’ve had it from waist height and the worst damage I’ve got is mild scuffing on the case but barely noticeable; Fully expected a garbage product but it’s definitely surprised me

The tricky thing about dropping iPhones, even in protective cases, is you may not see any signs of physical/internal damage right away. Wait after a few weeks or months and you'll find out that your TrueDepth camera is damaged and Face ID won't work anymore.

Honestly, I feel like apple is purposely making their phone case not as protective as cheaper cases because they want your phone to get damaged, so we buy the upcoming new phones.

There’s also damage that you can’t see internally, you want a case that absorb as much of the shock as possible

The 50 dollar case , absorbs the damage instead of transferring the kinetic energy to the phone and is expensive cause of brand but most importantly, feels sooo good even if it doesn’t last a year
