  • What makes Nardwuar such a GOOD interviewer & journalist is around 44:03, in the way he says "You're J Cole, we have to know" after the bomb of a revelation that J. Cole told Dre about Kendrick. Most of the time he says that line, it's in the context of being a fun interview, bringing up a random tidbit, and often playing coy to both hide his sources and get into his character. But THIS time, he says it with such honesty, sincerity, and *respect*. When Nardwuar _knows_ the topic will get serious or big, especially to the person being interviewed, Nardwuar let's the silence take in as his interviewee will need the time to think about the answer, and treats them with such sincerity so that they know they're in a safe space to answer. He does this too when he realized Doja Cat didn't know her dad produced music or when he gave Snoop a copy of his first film. It's still the goofball we love, but he knows its a big topic for the person they're interviewing.

That said, I have BIG, BIG respect for him based on this interview alone. Nowhere do you see an hour long interview with anyone and you rarely get insights into a person’s life the way he’s providing.
