  • Du warst mir beim arctic warrior direkt sympathisch und es freut mich, dass ich dein Kanal gefunden habe! Auch wenn ich es früher ein paar mal gemacht habe, möchte ich in naher Zukunft viel mehr zeit im Wald mit shelterbau usw. verbringen, deine videos sind dafür perfekt um dazu zu motivieren und tipps ranzuholen!   • Well done Sir, As a like minded survivalist myself, older and lazier now, I tend to find places where mother nature has done most of the work for you. Like a large ditch or dried up creek bed. Your walls, front and back are already done for you. All you need to do is your roof, fireplace and chimney. Plus the insulation of the earth around you will keep you well insulated.

  • Dein Shelter hat mich geflasht. Endlich mal etwas das man auch mit weniger Kraft bauen kann. Auf diese Idee wäre ich nie gekommen. Wenn ich wieder eine Auszeit brauche, gibt es hier ein größeres Waldgebiet mit einem Angelsee, auf dem ich mir die Zeit nehmen darf, da es einem Freund gehört und ich die Erlaubnis habe, fast Alles zu tun was ich möchte. Das nehme ich gerne in Anspruch, aber mit den Jahren wird es aufgrund meines Alters (61) immer beschwerlicher, eine Unterkunft nur aus Stämmen und Blättern, Moos etc zu bauen. Im letzten Jahr hat mich mein Sohn (40) begleitet, aber nur für einen Tag. Er hat mir geholfen und die schweren Arbeiten am Shelter verrichtet, ist dann Abends aber wieder nach Hause gefahren und ich war die Woche alleine. Rest habe ich alleine gemacht und wollte es auch so. In der nächsten Saison werde ich versuchen, deinen Shelter aus dem Video, wenigstens grob, nach zu bauen und so auf Hilfe verzichten zu können. In der Zeit schaue ich mir deine anderen Videos an und schaue, was ich noch so lernen kann. Otto Bulletproof hat deinen Kanal empfohlen und er hatte Recht. Du hast so fantastische Skills, da kann noch so Mancher von lernen. Ich bin super begeistert wie kreativ du bist. Danke, dass du es dokumentierst und uns zur Verfügung stellst. Abo steht natürlich . Pass auf dich auf und bleib gesund.

  • Das ist wieder ein tolles Video von dir. Ich glaube dein Hund hatte in dem Video die Oberbau Aufsicht so wie er alles beobachtet hatte was du machst. Danke für ein sehr informatives und wieder beruhigendes Video. Diese Bauweise mit dem Bogengeflecht kannte ich so noch nicht und war sehr interessant.     • Thank you 🙂 The majority of the soil is made of sandstone and rainwater seeps away extremely quickly. For this to happen, it has to rain a lot. then I wouldn't spend the night by the stream either.

  • Könntest du bitte einen kleinen shelterbau Test mit dem Messer machen? Würde gerne sehen wie gut/schnell man mit so einer 6mm Monsterklinge ein shelter bauen kann und wie gut man batonieren kann (wie schnell man ein Feuer herzaubern kann)

  • I have been on many trails, camp at least 10 nights a year -- for over 50 years. I have really been noticing the damage that careless people have had on our beautiful environment. WE ALL must practice Leave No Trace. As I camp, I strive to leave the place better than I found it. In this case, compare the location before and after -- now there is prime opportunity for severe erosion. It is one thing to have to do what is necessary for actual survival situations but when it it s for fun, like this case, we MUST limit the damage. Always try to leave the site at least in the condition you found it -- and perhaps better.

But apart from that, the rock layer is made of sandstone and the small stream has not come down higher than the visible edge on the stream bank for the last 10 years. But it's clear that if I were to build a permanent camp, it would be somewhere higher up.

  • Also ich kann mich meinen Vorgängern nur anschließen....geiles Shelter/Dome!!!Erinnert mich stark an ein Angelzelt (Dome) das es für mehrere 100€ zu kaufen gibt. Und ich finde es auch klasse das man alles ohne Worte erklärt bekommt und nicht jede Kleinigkeit kommentiert und dadurch das Video unnötig in die Länge gezogen wird. Was mich aber interessieren würde,man sieht dich am Ende des Videos einfach gehen,hast du das Shelter dann so zurückgelassen oder später alles wieder in den ursprünglichen Zustand zurückgebaut? Und....verträgt dein Hund ohne Probleme gewürztes Fleisch?😉 Aber Hut ab....geiles Video!!👍👍

    • Danke dir! Ich angel auch schon seit meiner Kindheit und hab so einen "kleinen" nicht ganz günstigen Dome im Keller🤣 ich hab das Fleisch nur leicht gewürzt und das verträgt sie dann auch ganz gut. Ich hab am nächsten Tag alles wieder abgebaut.

  • Sieht richtig Warm und gemütlich aus, mit der Feuerstelle bei Seite kann man bestimmt gut Schlafen. Eine Frage hätte ich anbei.. wie ist das mit der „Tür“? Würde sie bei einem großen Sturm (z.b) standhalten ? Oder hast du sie befestigt irgendwie? Aber sonst super 👍🏻

  • While this is interesting and I like what you've done, I've gotta say there are lots of people with the same type of wooded area shelter videos... Now, if you came out to the Great Plains or the Arizona/Nevada deserts and built a viable shelter that would be impressive and set you well above all of the rest!

  • nice design, but your location is suspect. Too close to the water, and it looks like you'd get pretty heavy runoff thru that area in a downpour.

  • Why did you build your shelter at the bottom of the hill? With the stream so close? What happens with a very heavy rain or extended heavy rain fall. You will have to move your shelter 😢
