  • Jeff Bridges asking Evan Peters about something positive about his experience on Dahmer is a great moment to me. You can tell he sees the affect the role still has on him, and by asking that it seems to be his way of trying to help him find some kind of light from what was clearly a dark experience.

I feel bad but I'd understand and empathise with how he's feeling if it was fiction? is that crazy

      @zara7302@zara730211 ай бұрын
    • @@zara7302 I mean he wouldn't have known before hand if it would affect him or how to what degree. Sure it's fiction and not real, but you're still saying and doing things that are horrible. Over and over again due to multiple takes and whatnot. I think some actors are just better at leaving the work st work verses some that have a hard time not letting it get in their head. What he was portraying wasn't real in the sense he never really did it, but that doesn't change the emotional aspect.

    • Completely agree...there are loads of questions I'd love for him to answer that have nothing to do with that and yet it continues to be the most referenced thing. I would love to ask if he'd ever consider going back to theater - some actors like to rotate between different types of performances if they can - or if he thinks he's grown out of that now. I'd love to talk to him about some of the books he's recommended and how they've had an impact on him. I have a laundry list of questions that just never get asked somehow. • This is why trauma is so devastating. When you are triggered or have a flashback to a traumatic event, your body doesn't know that that same thing isn't actually happening NOW. It takes much self-awareness and effort and energy to bring yourself into the real, present moment and act/react accordingly. Read 'The Body Keeps the Score' by Bessel van Der Kolk
