    • As bad as Phil might look on these videos, it seems that he knows how to maximize his value just by playing in these games. He's created an image that gets the videos he's in a ton of views and I'm sure he's receiving checks from advertisers just to do some of the stuff he does. Let's not forget that he's also not on this list of "world class" players: Phil Ivey, Chris Ferguson, Howard Lederer, Antonio Esfandiari, Michael Mizrachi, Tom Dwan, Patrik Antonius, Erick Lindgren, David Benyamine, and Michael Matusow. Everyone of these players on this list have declared bankruptcy at some point. Hellmuth is probably the best at knowing all about bankroll management and risk management. He also seems to know when to walk away from most cash games when his emotions are getting to him, and when he makes his grand exit, it seems like he does it for show to make sure the views come later to get paid by the advertisers. Maybe I'm wrong, but if I'm right, then he's truly a genius for suckering all of us in to keep watching his blowups.

  • I dont like the analysis of the set of 5's hand, the way he plays it is fine. If he hits an improvement card, to a full quads or better he can then check. With a uncoordinated board, there are many bad cards that complete hands still, as well as add further draws. So the decesion to push was on any card that did not improve the board up from uncoordinated, or semicordinated which term you may prefer, and also the way its played, he could check a bad turn card, A,2,3,6,7 8 especially one that adds a flush draw to the board, and hope to fill up on the river and then call all in. So slowplay was still an option in the way he played the hand, it just wasnt the option of the line he chose in the way the 9 turned up.

  • I disagree with the synopsis @28:20 Yes your right he did close down the action by raising all in and not giving his opponents a chance to bluff, but he also secured a pot. If he had checked and they'd both decided to check behind he would have been stuck in the position of letting 2 players draw a free card, even if one of them raised there on a semi bluff draw with his chips left behind he would never have been able to check raise them off and they would still draw to the end. With running and suited cards out there letting 1 player draw is dangerous enough let alone 2. I think his all in there was actually the correct move against 2 other players

  • For me there are 2 things that have ruined televised poker 1. People who have so much money they really don't care if they win or lose, thus taking away the true strategy of the game (Keating) 2. People buying percentages of players. These players are playing for less then 50% of their own wins! Fans and other players alike are buying so much of various other players that it becomes more like putting your Roulette chips on the 1st and 2nd groups of numbers in Roulette. -Sometime it becomes to where the player has a better financial gain for another player to win over themselves!s 3. I am NOT suggesting there is collusion or cheating necessarily but ask yourself this, would you want to sit at a table of 6 where two of them are winning regardless of which one does....?
