I can't think of parting from my WR8's. I first got the Impreza because of Richard Burns being my favourite rally driver. By a strike of grace I was able to get the Ken Block RX version (blue wheeled beast) and I can't get enough of it The looks, the sound, the power and the whole driving experience is frikkin' awesome. Whats the difference between the subaru and ford one? Just the shell? Or do they drive very different?
The problem now is I couldn’t run it. Too much history behind it and has to be kept in the condition you shipped it in.

I am fortunate enough to own the version of this car with the other body style and totally agree, it is the best running, most durable and fun to drive RC street/dirt patch basher I own!

One thing I remember from hpi cars is how much of a pain they are to work on. I stopped getting them because it's ridiculous lol

I have to confess I have 3, the first edition Ken block white livery one, I got a multicolored fiesta too but sourced the same body you have there but for nitro, and a new wax wr8. They are a lot of fun.

They’re a great basher and I’m trying to make it a entry level car for Drifting and Touring 🙂. But Finding upgrade parts for my car it’s so hard. 😢 I hope I could find one.

I’ve been wanting the WR8 Flux since 2013 when Gymkhana 5 came out but I never had that kind of money to buy one and I was just getting into RC Hobby back then. I was sad that it went discontinued for a long time until last year I heard they brought it back but this time it was the Subaru WRX STI body which I believe it was the Colin McRae edition. They did also brought back the Nitro version as well.
Yes, although the Subaru seems to be hard to find now as well!
Just bought my tickets, first time doing one of these raffles so 🤞🤞 would love one of these but no chance of ever being able to afford one the way the prices are going. Wish i'd seen the tamiya porsche raffle in time aswell that was a beautiful build!

I owned it in 2019 before Hpi went out of business. I’ve had over 30 RC’s and it doesn’t take long to realize this is one of the best RC’s ever made. The problem was I would destroy the wheels in 4 or 5 runs and to replace them with the stock wheels it was like $100 and the aftermarket wheels were horrible! Hpi parts were as expensive as upgraded redcat parts, but way harder to find because they did not have support and in 2019 they were having major issues trying to stay in business. this is the only RC I’ve ever owned that I was able to do a full 360 at almost full speed without flipping it. There’s a video of fresh squeezed RC doing the same thing!!!
I knew of Ken Block and Hoonigan, but didn't pay much attention to the new rally cars until recently. The look of them is so off putting, I just knew about Colin McRae and watched rally back in the early 2000s. But watching footage of the full scale likes of the Yaris and Fiestas, they are slowly growing on me. Those cars do some insane Group B type of stuff and the fans haven't seemed to learn from history 😁. I don't like how they all look the same, but I get it.. it's for the safety of the drivers at the end of the day. Can't wait to race you on that rally track in the skies, Ken! Legends never die!

Couldnt respect you more for this tomley - you knew what the market was looking like in terms of ken blocks merch being sold at sky high prices upon news of his death but rather than cash in like the rest of them you did something productive and gave it for someone else to have fun with 100% some collector would just shove that on the shelf if sold it regular which isnt a bad thing but realistically they are ment to be driven like real cars Ive never understood people whom buy such an investment and turn it into an expensive paperweight but hey .. not my money 😂 Fair play tomley thank you for being something positive for the community and giving back man ♥️+1000 respect Im sure in the spirit of the sport ken would be proud

I'm so glad we share the same opinion on the wr8. I have the flux and the nitro. Both absolute weapons. Mine are the subarus though, and I have the abu dhabi body as well. Just needs the rear fender. Nice car Phil, guess I'll have to enter the raffle.

Hard to pick one. If time was no issue, the nitro is my fave, but the electric is great because its more driving and less fiddling, rebuilding, cleaning etc@@ll.7927

Yes, for me the most fun rc car of all. We drive it more than 10 years. And its fun like in the first days. I am very happy that they dont stop the production. its the only rc car what i have never sell. And i had many... But you have to change some things to get it perfekt. Like to replace the crap original ESC and Damper.

My 1st ever real rc car was a nitro hpi bmw m3 2 speed, paid stupid money for it as a kid, saved up for over a year, got it home, fired it up, took it up and down the street a few times, as per the instructions. Ran a few tanks of nitro through it. And it was all loosened up and ready too rock. Tried my 1st dougbut in it. Broke the left front drive axle, blew the clutch, stripped the drive gears. I was not amused. Had it for 2 weeks, and it went to the rubbish tip. 12 months of 5am starts for my paper round for nothing! 😂😢
