I put money in a CD for a year. As the interest went up to 4% I was stuck at 2% because the rate remains at the % the CD was started with. Although the reverse can happen, I will never do another CD.

I love your budgeting consistency. Very encouraging. BTW, I did my first CD this year. I was nervous but it has grown immensely and is set to mature in February. I will renew it too. The rate on it is 5%. So go for it! There is a penalty for early withdrawal but the penalty is equal to a month or 2 of interest earned, just read up on that. But it’s worth it sis!
I have a Capital 1 HYSA and my branch is about 20 minutes away. But it’s also connected to my paycheck account and takes about 2 days to transfer. Great video.

The mixed grab bag is a great idea. I use cap1 online banking. I dont have a branch near me but i just go to the local CVS to add money and i have a debt card to use to pay my bills. They do have branch though. Other youtube budgeters have CD's, there is one that is saving up for her emergency fund and several othera who are using it for retirement. I cant wait till i can get one.
