Obviously the show is scripted but perhaps the writers saw that moment of fascination from Tormund’s actor in that scene and thought it was a good idea to then have Tormund crushing on Brienne every time he sees her.
@@miranda13c No mate a show this expensive, nothing is improv, not even the lighting or where the actors stand during a scene, they rehearse about 5 times before they even turn a camera on. No improv is done in this show mate. Scripts are done weeks and months in advance, they’re not gonna edit someone’s storyline in the show just because an actor may have looked at another in a certain way

What I love here is that this could have easily slipped into creepy/ick, but Tormund remains respectful and doesn't try to push anything with her. He likes her and let's his feelings be known, but he doesn't force any of that on her.

@@WiHawk1 It's more complicated than that. Bri wanted so badly to be a lady. Part of the reason why she fell "in love" with Jamie is that he's a knight out of a fairy tale. She didn't actually love him, but what he represented. If Jamie were to accept her, it would be like her looks and temperament would be accepted by society. You guys have to think deeper about stuff like this rather than writing off emotions and the subconscious.

I understand he's a wildling and not really familiar with Wasteros traditions but I love how he appreciate Brienne being a formidable warrior and said fuck traditions. I guess it's also has to do with the fact that wildling women are somewhat equal to men and fight/hunt on equal footing. This reminds me of the ending of Mulan. While every guy in Chinese army is making a big fucking deal about Mulan being a woman, the Hun bad guy was like "you are the soldier from the valley" when he sees Mulan. Tormund was by far one of the BEST characters written and certainly played out! I laugh so hard every time he looks at her! As a girl I will say that kind of creep mode is somehow appealing lol he’s unafraid to make his desires known and clearly he wants only you!

Tormund is one of my favorites, he may be brash and forward but when he likes someone he adores them and he even seems a bit nervous talking to her which is so cute, plus the fact that brienne is quite a bit taller than him makes me think (if they ever got together) that he would lay on her shoulder and look up at her all sweetly while she just sort of lovingly glares at him, and the fact that he claps first and proudly smiles at her when she’s knighted oh my god I love them

Literally a story from the beginning of mankind and repeated over and over and over again. Good man meets woman and falls deeply in love with her. Woman ignores good man and goes with some total asshole who is mentally or physically abusive.....many times both. And the woman says to herself "why cant I find a good man?" Not hyperbolic. Not exaggerated. Seen this exact thing happen MANY times in my own life. I don't understand it but that's what happens all the time. It's what tarth did here. Fucking stupid.
And then woman cries on the shoulder of the good man about how the bad man treated her...well, like bad men do. this right here was the biggest let down that Tormund did not get to make big babies with Brienne. i loathed that jamie ( who got his own redemption story fucked up) ended up with her i would of rathered. her finally giving in to Tormund and maybe actually enjoy a man who literally worships her. I mean after all the insults she says she got for being this big monster to other noble children her age. Tormund is literally a guy who worships her every aspect and as far as i can tell doesnt dislike a thing about her. He even loves that she is a knight and could kick his ass. probably turns him on more then her looks. I hope the book writer fixes this along with many other problems.

ah...my ship. I was so madly in love with Tormund being in love with Brienne. I drew fanarts of them, watched their scenes over and over again, took screenshots of them, dream about them being together, bought their funko pops (but Brienne's funko wasn't available so I bought Captain Phasma instead to be paired with my Tormund funko). I was so sad that Jaime had to ruin everything. But still, it was such a good time. I miss the excitement of waiting for the newest episode or season to come out.
I thought for certain he would try to carry her away in the wildling tradition. He should have broken into her window and tried to wrestle her out only to get pummeled by her. It would have been awesome.

I am/was all for Jaime and Brienne, but honestly, the way Tormund from the onset adored all the things about her, including the things that others ridiculed and mocked her for, made his crush on her kind of adorable. And the way he instantly said he'd knight her was sweet too.
That’s also something I don’t get. The whole storyline was somehow pointed to the fact, that they both get together in some way. But at the end Brienne hooked up with Jamie and that’s it?! I was sooo disappointed...

I'm actually kinda disappointed they never became a thing, Like i know it's more of a passing attraction but that's kind of the thing. Brienne mentions how she's used to just about every she meets calling her ugly. And yet here is Tormund looking at her like she's the most beautiful woman in the world. She's clearly not used to it and even a little uncomfortable but I think she deserved to have someone call her beautiful and treat her with the respect she's earned.
