Just look at what she has achieved in brexit sod all ...we no longer have a say in the eu ,we are 2 years away from the referendum ,she got us another 2 years of it, she has sold out the fishermen ,she has given in to every demand they have made and we are supposed to worry that she might not be happy.....I give up.

    • AaleexXx 14 - Agreed. JRM needs to talk to Farage about an Australian style point system.

      @Higgins8@Higgins86 жыл бұрын
    • It sounds nice but I am from Australia and our immigration intake is way too high even with the point system. We have a population of 24 million and we accept 190,000 migrants a year, 68% of whom are skilled and 32% are family members. This annual intake, coupled with our already substantial immigrant population, and due to our low birth-rates among European's paints a dark future for Australia.

      @Alexander-jn2zs@Alexander-jn2zs6 жыл бұрын
    • AaleexXx 14 - True. You’ll be Asian in no time. But I think a point system for Britain would work better than it has for Oz. And at least it’s somewhere to start. I’d love to end all immigration full stop, but we know that’s not going to happen.

      @Higgins8@Higgins86 жыл бұрын
    • Deportations, a harsh points system while prioritising native workers first and a public campaign to increase incentive for natives to have children and fight the decline. That would get my full support. Both sides of my family are from North-West England and my father was born there so I was lucky enough to be born a British citizen with full English heritage. It is my intention to go to post-brexit Britain and do all I can to help when I have finished my degree.

      @Alexander-jn2zs@Alexander-jn2zs6 жыл бұрын
    • Fuck all this "we need a points based system like Australia" We need to close the borders and lock them down tightly. Then start mass deportation. I know that's not going to happen any time soon but that's my opinion.

  • I don't like the idea of far far far left Scotland dictating how the party should act in centre right England. England wants a more Conservative Tory party, if Scotland wants their Tories to be New Labour mark 2, then go for it, but don't expect us to follow suit. We have a country to save.

    @JackoJ15@JackoJ156 жыл бұрын
    • Anglo Fyrd believe it or not,Scotland isn't far,far,far left.the Tories have been out of the fold in Scotland and not trusted since Thatcher hit us with the poll tax a year before England. Along with the closing of heavy industries in the 80's.the snp just gave us a viable option under Salmond of something other than labour.every government has it's shelf life,and more and more people are Fed up of Sturgeon who's dragged the party so far left.labour are led by someone to the left of Corbin up here,and the greens and lib dems are to the left of them.Ruth Davidson's competent,but essentially a modern 'compassionate tory'. i'd vote for JRM in a heartbeat.he's a conviction politician,though I suspect he wouldn't have the balls to cajole people to his way of thinking like Maggie did.i voted snp for 20 years, but voted for brexit and the Tories at the last election out of necessity.even though there essentially wishy washy liberals since the time of John Major.we also don't have the mass migration that England's had too contend with.although granted,Scotland has always been more left wing than England.

Feminism is the fight for equality but this new wave is just bashing everything up for the sake of it. Nothing left to get offended about so let’s look towards minor annoyances and then vilify that. This is toxic to equality as it seems that they will just carry on long after they have the scales tilted their way. History proves this theory. Look at all the extremists. Didn’t end well.

    • Botany 500 "we give the EU £350 million a week, lets fund our NHS instead". Only then to say that it would not be the case once 'leave' had won. Suggestion or not,this was grossly misleading to the British people.

      @chazwilko123@chazwilko1236 жыл бұрын
    • Chuck Grant. The Leave Campaign has no power to force the government to spend the £350 million on the NHS, but it's possible for the government to do it. What was misleading was the statement made by the Remain Campaign: "Brexit will see 400,000 to 800,000 unemployed." That was a claim, not a suggestion.

      @wallywoodwally5877@wallywoodwally58776 жыл бұрын
    • Wallywood Wally as you said the leave campaign has no power over the £350 million. So why did they indicate they did?That was a massive campaign point and they indicated to people that it was feasible. And George Osborne said 400,000 jobs COULD be lost due to brexit. Don't make things up

  • Why are people in the UK so opposed to privatising the NHS? I think its the sensible logical thing to do, and would dramatically improve the health service..we already have large chunks of it in the private sector so why not go the whole way? When an organisation of that size and scale remains in the public sector its never going to be run efficiently, completely or on a proper business footing. We saw that with Royal Mail which until recent years was a major major drain on the tax purse filing huge losses on what SHOULD be a very profitable business considering they had a monopoly. The problem always comes back to lack of competitiveness, trade unions blocking modernisation and progress. In the private sector, the trade unions are finding life much different in Royal Mail I can tell you! And that's how it should be. You can't have an organisation the size and scale of the NHS costing tax-payers an ever increasing chunk of our national budget whilst the service gets worse and worse, due mainly to trade unions bullying the government and blocking any efforts at making the service run efficient and competitively. Nationalised industries have never worked historically and governments should not be doing that, it's not the role of government. We all want a health service that works, where waiting queues aren't weeks to see your GP and months to see a consultant or surgeon. That isn't going to happen under the present system. People's main concern seems to be that the NHS is free, and in the private sector it would cost people a lot more. No it wouldn't. We all pay a LOT for the NHS its not free at all. Most people pay a huge chunk of their life-time earnings as National Insurance and many business owners too, we don't use the service often (if at all) yet have to fund it. If we moved to a private insurance model, and more towards 'pay to use' for certain things I'm pretty sure a lot more people would take responsibility for their behaviour, their health and would start exercising and eating more sensibly. Then your insurance goes down. If you use the NHS more from neglecting your health or making bad lifestyle choices, then your insurance goes up and you have to take responsibility for that. Of course, we could have limits based on income, and safeguards for those people who have to use the NHS more not due to any lifestyle choices etc. However as it stands now, it's a bad bad system that basically picks up the cost of bad lifestyles and places the burden on everyone else with no incentive for that to change and no way to manage or pass on that increasing cost. The staff are being asked to do more and more, with less and less resources.

  • On the 'promised' £350,000,000 per week for NHS funding, one cannot have one's cake, and eat it. This money, and JRM might have made this important point, is still being applied in funding the EU, so cannot, yet, be applied domestically, as soon as UK does, hopefully, exit the EU then this money shall be available however, money is more easily saved by ensuring those with no right to free healthcare within the UK are not afforded it, equally, review of the wasteful Thatcherite system of General Management must be undertaken to remove the propensity of management and replace with medical professionals, the NHS operated better, I am of opinion, when managed by professional medics rather than accountants, and their other friends.

    @joeyguitarstrings3588@joeyguitarstrings35885 жыл бұрын
  • There are many ways the NHS can have more funds without increasing the already *over* *TAXED* private sector. Immigration is one of them, I'm not saying don't let in anyone, I'm saying allow the skilled labour that we require and shut the door to the rest. I know I'll get some bad comments for pointing out the 'elephant' in the room so I'll list a reason for saying this below, this was another person’s post that I saw and re-arranged for ease. EU *low* *paid* workers = Tax credits EU low paid worker with wife (claiming Unemployment Benefit) and 2 children Minimum pay (depending on age) £7.83 per hour for 25 and over 37.5 hour week (average) = £294 per week Tax paid per year £682 NIC paid per year £821 They are entitled to claim Tax Credits, Child Tax Credits, Child allowance (if under 16), Rent Rebate, Council Tax Rebate, if they apply, they would qualify. Family Tax Credit £55.46 per week Child tax credits for 2 children £117.08 per week Child allowance £42 per week Unemployment Benefit £71.70 per week Where I live a 3 bed semi to rent £500 pm, rent rebate £450 pm, council tax rebate £60 pm. So EU low paid worker with wife and 2 children would pay into our system approximately £1,503 per year. The same EU worker with family would receive £21,004 in benefits from private sector taxation, it’s the law.... So how are they *"contributing* *to* *our* *society"..* Just visit YouGov it’s there!!!

    @johnb9416@johnb94166 жыл бұрын
    • Bless John, maths was always tough for you, right? Who are these magical EU immigrants both stealing jobs and driving down wages whilst simultaneously (and paradoxically) claiming unemployment benefit? You know the demographic profile of the EU immigrant is largely young, single and fit right? (as people relocating looking for work strongly tend toward.) Besides this is all redundant speculation as we know EU immigrants are net contributors in financial terms - this has been calculated long ago and it's really only the pig ignorant who are unaware of this by this stage.The numbers are in - we gain economically from EU immigrants. There's no dispute about this amongst anyone with an iota of knowledge about the statistics. There is an argument about wages being driven down. That is a credible criticism and should be addressed - your own little fantasies and risible, incoherent maths can be instantly dismissed however.

  • Stop the Political correctness, it doesn't matter about someone's "hurt feelings" do what is right for the people of Britain. Apeasement only leads to conflict, do a Trump, tell it like it is, and maybe, just maybe the government might be able to claw back a little credibility, which at the moment neither they nor the Labour party have any at all.

  • Jacob Rees-mogg - "the other week about 100 Indian doctors were denied access to the UK" Right, so why do you want more foreigners, who don't look anything like us and have their own culture, to come to Britain and undoubtedly form more foreign enclaves in the country??...I thought you loved your own people Mr Rees-mogg?? Bringing more foreigners is not serving the nations best interests, and frankly pulling up the drawbridge isn't enough, mass deportations need to happen in order to solve the demographic issues that this country faces.

    • Our great grandfathers didn't fight for the NHS, they fought for our protection, our sovereignty. But even if that were the case, labelling something as being unable to criticise because of its historical affiliations is ludicrous. The idea that we should all vote because "people died for our right to vote" is equally ludicrous.
