They only take care of us because it's one of their dutys in life and once they have completed that task they will abandon you to fend foryourself when your 12 years old.   • The show is amazing. I grew up in foster care. I was taken from my home when I was 5yrs old. I lived in over 10 different homes in my life. This show does a wonderful job talking about the broken foster care system.

    • I too was in the system. I lost count on how many homes I was placed in and group homes. this show brings up a lot of emotions on how I felt growing up in the system. I also love the fact that the fosters shows just how messed up the system is. for years the foster system has been in the dark to the public. a lot of people don't know just how hard it is being a child and going through it. and how not every foster family is safe. I know a lot of kids here in Florida that are about to age out of the system with no family and no one really to rely on. most don't even know about independent living and the great opportunities they can provide.

  • This song is beautifully paired with the introductory visuals of The Fosters. It makes me feel so good, like when I was a carefree child, and I feel like I have come home when I watch it since I always have found myself to be different and not belonging with the average crowd, like a foster kid in my own right.     • Same. My birth parents gave me up and I was in a group home for the first six years of my life. After I turned six, my worker started to look for a family for me to be adopted in and when I turned seven. I was introduced to three different household. I picked my adopted mother who was the last household I met out of all the other families because I felt that connection when I walked up to the front door. I knew that I’ll walk through this door for the rest of my life. My mom loves me unconditionally and I love her too. I’m so happy that I choose her to be my mother. My role model and my everything. Now I’m 23 and we’re still so close. When my mom heard me sing this song on my piano. She cried so much. I started crying and she actually recorded it. I don’t know what happened to that video. You could tell how much emotions it was being recorded in it through me and my mom who was holding it.

  • I've watched the fosters religiously the entire time love this song and even my 4 yrs old and my 7 week old love it. My 7 week old if he is fussy I turn the song on he calms down and drifts of to sleep. I'm learning the words to the song now so just incase I don't have my phone I can sing it fully to him. Absolutely beautiful

They only take care of us because it's one of their dutys in life and once they have completed that task they will abandon you to fend foryourself when your 12 years old.   • watched the finale yesterday and I was crying so much, both happy and sad. I love the show. It represents so much that’s happening in my life and what I’m facing. I’m sad it’s time to say goodbye to this incredible show, amazing cast and crew. The Fosters (and this song) will always have a special place in my heart.
