Sarajevo, the capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina, is known for its rich history, diverse culture, and stunning architecture. It's famously remembered for being the site of the assassination of Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria in 1914, which sparked World War I. Today, it's a vibrant city with a mix of Ottoman, Austro-Hungarian, and Yugoslav influences, offering visitors a unique blend of experiences.
We travelled from London Luton to Sarajevo on Saturday morning. We four people travelled together. We visited Sarajevo old town which is exceptional place reflecting old history of Ottoman empire. We then drove to reach 3000ft at highest point in Sarajevo for city view which was beautiful.
Key points.
1- not many places accept debit and credit cards. always carry cash.
2- food is all halal and easily available in Sarajevo old town.
3- people are very hospitable and friendly.
