I can't help but salute Barberry. Responsible for taking out 13 mobile suits until his last, brave stand. I can only assume the number would have been higher if those rookies hadn't messed up on him. I could never have the guts to fight until the bitter end like he did.

Now that has got to be the most realistic depiction of a tanks/soldiers vs mobile suits I've ever seen! This is in an awesome movie! Great job on it!
I still can't get over how well the clips are synced with the audio the movements of some Suits even sync with certain notes like the zaku running in the beginning and when the tanks are signaled in

This got me into the gundam series
Anyone knows what happened to him? This, for me is one of the little gems for AMV in youtube. Such talent represented in this one, unique video.

As Barberry unholstered his pistol, expecting to die against the third Zaku, the representation of Death jingled the dog tags of his men with but a happy smile and a mocking tone. Taunting him with the fact his men were dead. That before he would die, they would die. That he had been unable to save them, to keep them alive no matter how hard he tried. And it showed his dog tag next, letting him know, it was now his time and he had no say in the matter. With a roar, as the Zaku locked onto him, Barberry unleashed bullets from sidearm. The weapon jerking back with every shot. Both in defiance to the Zaku and Zeon, for their invasion of Earth, and to Death, to fight the end awaiting him to the last. Death only laughed louder as the Zaku's barrel glowed with a brief light. Then, as though Zeus himself was listening, a pair of yellow bolts struck the Zaku destroying the upper half in a single mighty explosion that sent the fatal shot off to the side to explode near and throw Barberry onto his back some distance away. Laying there, dazed and stunned from what happened, Barberry could only stare up at the blue sky high above him. The whispy clouds as they passed by peacefully and lazily so far above. The sun was saying it was the afternoon now. The sky beginning to change ever so lightly. A chill gave him a start as he realized he wasn't dying, despite some blood on his forehead as he inspected himself. With a groan, the lieutenant rolled to get to his feet only to find his sergeant coughing, alive, but badly wounded. A miracle the man was still alive at all. The private that had been with him let out a groan from where he laid underneath their wrecked Jeep, somehow alive as well. "How?" Barberry asks as the rhythmic thud of a Mobile Suit approaching drew his attention to a new kind of Mobile Suit with two large cannons on the shoulders, a smaller machine gun with what looked like a collapsible stock in the stored position, and a face plate like that of a helmet with a blue visor over the pair of lights that must be the eyes. But most importantly... "Are there any other survivors? We're here to help," it had a Federation logo and the letters EFGF beneath it. More thuds as three more Mobile Suits of the same model deployed in a defensive screen. With them, fanning out in front of them in their own screen, were M61 Tanks. Behind them, Jeeps and Trucks loaded with men and Ambulances too deployed as the newly arrived soldiers spread out to help. And there, on the shoulder of the Mobile Suit that saved him and his surviving men, was a person dressed in a white cloak with a long green tunic and shining like gold. A gentle small before they seem to disappear from the shoulder as Barberry lost sight for a brief moment as a Federation Medic looked him over.

Only because of their own stupidity in believing that a mighty space armada would protect them in what they thought would be a conventional war, despite what the Intel guys were reporting to them being a clear indication that it was not going to be conventional. As a result they got a much deserved ass kicking...

gotta say it's nice having a chit chat with a fellow gundam fan that's not the per usual flame war. you know they did something right with the original gm since a gm 2 is more or less a regular gm and those were still in a somewhat active service in unicorn.unless that was more of a send out whatever you can kind of deal like with the oldies on the zeon side.
Haven't seen the series! Either way I must say the foot soldiers did good considering their fire power at the beggining

Yeah, true. Considering the sheer number of GM types too and how the basic design would march on until the mobile suits were made smaller. Even the Jeagan is technically a GM, just the first with an actual name. In Zeta Gundam, the GM II was retired midway in favor of the Nemo and Rick Dias for AUEG and a number of types, including the lesser Hizack, for the Titans. Still, the GM II was found until the end of the First Neo-Zeon War in frontline service. Then it was retired with the Nemo later on

Probably because of Minovsky Particles. Minovsky Particles generate a Electromagnetic Effect that makes unshielded electronic equipment completely useless. The phones are probably huge due to the shielding needed...though that's just my personal theory. They wouldn't work, regardless, if Minovsky particles WERE spread throughout the battlefield as the Particles effectively jam Radio waves (And other things)...but at least the phones would work -after- the Particles dispersed...

Actually luna titanium is real, titanium on the moon is denser than on earth, and the luna titanium is an alloy of of alulinium and moon refined titanium, all this in 0G wich makes the alloy even denser
Tbh, making in alloy in 0g seems kinda counter intuitive to making it strong.... let alone an element being denser...

Actually it does matter how you look at it. If you know every Gundam universe, you must know, sometimes feddies sometimes zeons are playing the role of "evil". But feddies are proven evil in almost all series...

Tell me about it. It would be nice to see something Pro-Federation again. To many people like the Zeon and forget that even after signing the Antarctica Treaty, the Zeon were still tossing Nuclear Missiles around like they were going out of style. Odessa twice, California Base, Side 6, and still more. It is such a wonder that the Earth Federation created the GP02.
WMDs were used by both sides, Side 5 and the colony drop is proof that and then theres the Titans, they nuked their own base and personnel at Jaburo to try and kill AEUG, and thats not to overlook the myriad of other atrocities they've commited. Neither side is clean, both are corrupt, cruel, and morally unsound... And before you call me out as a Zeon lover, I'm not... My loyalty to Zeon died when Deikun was assassinated and the Zabi family took over and twisted the Republic into a Principality...

Animes Games & Movies OST BGM that and the particles used against radar turned all war into war by sight over night. As such flight reliant on instruments in combat situations became obsolete practically over night. They were probably confounded on how to even fly anywhere without them still. Their own creation of blinding warfare undid conceptions of air warfare to themselves as well as the enemy that came in startling force with weapons they thought mere months ago were indeering large toys, capable only of slow construction jobs at best.

The GM II was simply an uprated GM with new tech, cockpit, and powerplant. Most pilots that got it didn't like it because to them it was just plain old. On the other hand, the Hizack which was supposed to replace the GM series was a failure. Sure it was better in terms of being newer and integrating Zeon technology, but it was little better than a Zaku II. Plus, unlike the GM II, it could only use one beam weapon period. The GM II, since it was just a GM, could also be quite versatile as well.
Anaheim absorbed the Zeonic Company, and more or less directly referenced the Zaku II F2 data into the design and construction of the Hizack. (So it more or less is/was a Zaku II! XD) ... But that does beg the question of why they didn't use the Zaku III? Anaheim would have had access to Neo Zeon MS data since Anaheim is more or less in cahoots with EVERYONE and is often arming, supplying and supporting all parties of whatever conflict is going on... Surely in the 4yr gap between the Hizack's and Zaku III's appearance, the data must have existed... The Zaku III pretty much covers all the weaknesses of the Zaku II and the majority of its armaments were beam weapons, even the head cannons were beam type! >.< (Side note, other than some purpose built weaponry for the Zaku III, the majority of its beam type weapons come from other suits)
@@Feiora - It is possible that the lower performing Hizack was chosen, because it would have been the cheaper option. Not only the Federation, but Side 3 was hit hard by the One Year War. The Second Republic of Munzo/Republic of Zeon, was still using Musai-class Cruisers up until it was absorbed back into the Federation itself. They were also likely the reason behind the Hizack as well. As Republic forces used the Hizack from its introduction until Zeon was absorbed back into the Federation. With Side 3 getting them, and in need of new Mobile Suits to replace their own losses from 0083, the Federation likely acquired the Hizack as well to refill their strength, but found it to be a let down. Which is why the GM II was likely created. It was technically a superior unit to the Hizack. Performance-wise, they were roughly equal, but in terms of power and weapons, the GM II was superior. The only real hinting we get at it being labeled a bad unit, was with the Titans, who were happily using the Hizack instead and preparing to upgrade to far more powerful units to begin with. But, as was hinted as well, Titan pilots were also not keeping up with their training. So there was a good chance that while they got excellent units, they couldn't use them to their full potential from lack of training. Titans automatically classified themselves as superior soldiers simply because they were in the Titans. So it makes sense that they would have an ego and hubris issue that plagued their operations so severely, they were defeated by the AEUG. The only thing that allowed to stand up to the AEUG as a general rule, was that the pilots of the Titans tended to, in actual fact, be superior pilots in a general rule, but were again, failed to keep up with their training requirements.
