  • This is great, i cant wait for reputation. Her duality is insane.

  • The track five thing is specific to Taylor. Fans noticed her track five songs were her most vulnerable (unit by chance) so she started doing it deliberately.

  • This session is without doubt Taylor’s best vocal performance. I understand why she does the massive stadium shows but I would much rather experience her in a small intimate setting like this. It allows the bright piercing talent of her lyrics to shine through

    • I also think this feels a lot more personal and intimite! Though, I feel like I can appreciate it even more because of the versatility and contrast compared to the full concerts😁👌

    • You think resell price for Eras tickets is insane? If Taylor ever does a small intimate acoustic tour like this, the price would be unthinkable.

      @AllTheArtsy@AllTheArtsy6 ай бұрын
    • @@AllTheArtsy The high resell prices for the Eras concerts are not her fault. With some like this, perhaps a residency in Las Vegas, she would much tighter control of ticket distribution and prevention of resale etc....

  • You should react to evermore next. About five months after she released folklore, she dropped another surprise album called evermore, the sister album to folklore. They have the same vibes but completely different at the same time. Where folklore represents spring and summer, evermore's theme is fall and winter.

  • I disagree with the idea of ‘someone had it worst so you are going to be okay’ mentality, if doesn’t differ if you were drowning in a bath tub or in a swimming pool or in a ocean it all considered drowning with different circumstances and consequences. I consider this mentality as guilt tripping even if it wasn’t their desired goal

    @shkh1418@shkh14187 ай бұрын
    • Well, that's not really what I meant with that. It's not because someone has it worse than you, that it right away means you're going to be fine of course. It just reminds me that there is a way to get to a better place mentally, even though I might not be easy and will probably take some time. I wasn't trying to underestimate how heavy this can be. I see this thought proces more as a sparkle of hope, not as a immediate fix. Hope this makes more sense? Thx!😊

  • I think when Taylor says "the worst time to put out a record" she means mostly for her career, in comparison with how her career had gone up to that point. Ever album had been followed by a huge tour (except Lover but only because the pandemic ended her tour plans for that) so she had to rework how she released new albums entirely from how she'd always done it. That would be a risk to someone who was used to doing things in one certain way. I think it ultimately helped her career a lot to switch it up though because a whole different group of people was exposed to it simply because they had more time to give new things a chance than they had before. Her fandom now is bigger than it ever has been before.

  • William Bowery aka Joe Alwyn and Taylor dated for 6 years. And during quarantine they lived together and wrote some of the songs together as you saw. They wrote songs together in the evermore album too. Joe's grandfather, William is actually a legendary classical music composer during his time. And songs invisible string, peace and the lakes were about their relationship.

  • The Last Great American Dynasty (TLGAD) tells the true history of the holiday house Taylor bought in Rhode Island. It once belonged to Rebekah Harkness who married the wealthy heir to the Standard Oil empire (William “Bill” Harkness) and she apparently used to throw lavish parties in that mansion just as Taylor sings about in the song. TLGAD is such a great song. Great storytelling by Taylor.

  • Aaron Dessner is amazing! He brought something out in her. First time she ever wrote to someone else’s track. She has always written her own music. As such, listening to what he sent, it raised emotions in her that then invoked lyrics that were fantastic. He has been present on all her albums since, including her re-records. His band, The National, is alt and is great. The lead singer has a fantastic voice (you heard it on Coney Island). She has appeared on The National’s albums since this too. She calls Aaron her musical soulmate.

  • My tears ricochet is written about the falling out of her relationship with her former record label. It’s the reason why she’s rerecording her first 6 albums (the ones now called Taylor’s versions) because her old record label wouldn’t let her buy and own the masters to those songs but instead they would only allow her to own the masters to each album one by one in exchange for her releasing a new album under their label. Then she felt betrayed when the label sold her entire catalogue instead to a music executive and his co. who had on several occasions done insulting stuff against her and even bragged on instagram after the sale that they “bought” Taylor. Her old record label also had more control of what she puts out and restricted her creative freedom. Thats why in the rerecorded albums, she now added the songs that she originally wrote for those albums but didn’t make the cut due to the decisions of her old label. Now her new record label pretty much trusts in her creative direction which is why in the beginning of this movie she only informed her new label a week before she was releasing Folklore and they just went along with it.

  • She grew up on a Christmas Tree Farm in Pennsylvania. So wholesome with very supportive parents. They moved to Nashville for her when she was only 14. Her father was basically her manager, publicist, merchandising agent, talent development, BANK, etc. He basically gave her inheritance during the time before her first manager signed her for an awful 13 years. There’s a huge story about that. Cardigan, August and Betty are a trilogy. They are fictional characters. But it’s a love triangle and each song is from a different perspective from each person. So talented!

If someone is battling guilt(can be completely unreasonable but they are feeling it) then telling that someone else had it worse and succeeded is rubbing in their face that they have not succeeded, that they are struggling wich just fortifies their guilt.

Instead say, I hear you, I’m here for you, is there something I can do? Sometimes it’s impossible to say what can be helpful because your brain simply don’t work. That is where for example my reaction to her Reputation Stadium Tour is a lot different (I'll post that one in within the next week hopefully). Also, for copyright reasons, I had to filter the audio, which of course is less enjoyable to watch if you only have my sporadic commentary in between.
