What a selfless and humble guy.
I'd love to see him calling games in the booth for Fox or CBS
Thomas White if he was selfless then why did he go into the c gap ? that was Pat’s moment and he was selfish and ruined it
One of the few Steelers greats that is likeable.
@@jeftyandrada3644 ., Lol. That fault lands with McAfee. He's got no poker face and Troy knew something was amiss. I guess you could say, Troy smelled a rat and like a cat he pounced on it..
@@jeftyandrada3644 Not everyone can be the hero. Brett Kiesel doesn't get enough credit, along with others, but Troy making exceptional plays was a good thing. When those plays become ineffective, he had to retire.
Troy is a model of what all of us should aspire to be. He's the opposite of what is glorified in today's world. He's humble, quick to listen, slow to speak, slow to anger, selfless and pushes away pride and this world's vanities.
Mike Muffler Exactly
So basically what God tells us how to be in the Bible

I completely disagree. There isn't one way to be a "good" person.
@@EmmanuelTurner245225 the only way to be a good person is to seek God and flee worldly pleasures. God is the only source of good in the universe. You can spend a whole lifetime trying to find other sources on Earth and you will never find it.
3:22 for Antonio comments
Appreciate it Fam
Thanks f
Thank you for existing. I love you brotha
Thank u
Mvp
Could please let him finish an answer with out interrupting
yeah wtf clay
Thats how conversations are. Cry about it
Brah I was thinking the same exact thing
He does carry on tangents and says the same stuff over and over... as if he's buddhist and loves trees and walks naked through the forest playing a flute...
Jeez when a legend talks you keep quiet and listen stop interrupting
MrSoloDolo you can tell he’s not a Steelers fan
True, but He’s just really excited
Its so true... too much interrupting
Where's the legend?
John Howard That guy on the left side of the screen.
This guy is not even listening he's waiting for a pause to talk again lol
trung huynh facts
Smh
No, I think Clay is just a quick thinker.
Yep
Lmaoooo
Troy's voice reminds me of Mike Tyson's soft voice, but these guys were monster in their own sports😅😅
he has a soft voice but he also talks in a way that is soft if that makes sense so it makes his voice even softer.
Jonnie Yanda nice
The quiet ones are the ones you gotta watch out for!
Speak softly!
Sounds like an islander to me Very relaxed
God gifted Troy with abilities I've never seen before, he managed to be grateful and remain humble his entire life. This man is beyond a legend, he is what players should aspire to be like as men.
Joel Schmidt lets be honest he’s the type of person we should all aspire to be.
@@THRASH3RZz factual information
Great observation
He quit lifting weights after leaving USC. I know that his career was legendary, and the weights could’ve slowed him down. Devil’s Advocate; could you imagine him getting a running start at you AFTER doing squats and calf raises twice a week over the length of his career?
God gifted Troy the chance to ruin Mccafee's touchdown.
I miss seeing Ward’s smile and Troy’s hair in games.
This interviewer needs to be able to let Troy express his position without interrupting. Please reflect on this video and work on your ability to let the interviewee express their thoughts.
Seriously! I kept wanting to hear the resolution to some of the stories Troy started but he kept being interrupted
No he’s trying to get a sound bite only worried about A.b you see what the title of video is
He didn't even ask follow-up questions about Antonio, this guy sucks.
Clay loves to hear the sound of his own voice..Most radio personalities do..
The guy is a horrible interviewer fox should replace this guy.
Why did he cover the c gap
One of life's mysteries that will never be solved.
To deny a child's dream of scoring a td.
@@jamesallen5591 check out this KZheadr RBT he did an interview with Troy and he answered it!
He literally never does that... he knew what was coming 😂😔
@@jamesallen5591 SOLVED NOW! That was great finding that answer out. We were all curious. Lolol
His voice and demeanor makes him that much scarier!
He is super religious. He is eastern orthodox and goes to monk retreats and stuff.
Really he's orthodox
That makes him even scarier! Someone that runs around acting all bad doesn’t bother me. Someone that did what he did on the field but is that calm and at piece is just frightening.
@@tonybaggett1984 he played football he didn't kill ppl. Relax, it's just a game.
NY101jah he was a violent hitter although they where all with perfect form. I watched the dude have a teammate put he’s shoulder back in after dislocating it so he could get back in the game without the training staff knowing. If you don’t have a level of fear for someone that dedicated to “playing a game” I don’t know what to say.
Polamalu seems so different on and off the field on field: hard hitting ballhawk off field: loving dad who enjoys watching tv and spending time with the family
Interviewer: your a Pittsburgh Steeler, your a Pittsburgh Steelers Legend Every real NFL fan: Troy Is a NFL Legend !! Who is this interviewer ! 🤦🏽
it’s because the question was directed towards his experience on the team. also, i’m pretty sure if you are a legend in the nfl, you’re also a legend for your team.
Troy was one hell of a football player.
Troy is a freaking Legend. His humbleness is what kids today can learn from this man. Watching him give 110% on every play was truly special to witness.
As a Niner fan, Troy P. is a perfect example, of how an NFL player should be. Straight up, Bad Ass on the field. This Man, is Special and Blessed ! Legend !
Epitome of walk quietly and carry a big stick! Troy is a quality human being.
Feeling a responsibility to help someone else because you have a relationship and an opportunity to reach out. That's a beautiful mindset that more people need to adopt. I think it says a lot about the people that mentored those values in Troy's life. Coaches, Parents, Family... etc.
Polamalu has to be top 3 safety of all time.
Mr. Reid top 6.
@@PlayaflyJoe27 I'm curious who else you would put in that top 6 list? I only know of Ed Reed, Troy Polamalu and Deion Sanders as Hall of Fame caliber safeties.
@@SeemsLogical Ronnie Lott? Kenny Easley? Brian Dawkins? Plus, Deion Sanders never played safety.
G.O.A.T.S 1. Ronnie Lott. 2. Polumau/Reed
@@calibrazxr750 I forgot about Dawkins. He was in the NFL when I first started to watch football regularly. Don't recognize the other two and you're right about Deion Sanders not being a safety. He was before my time so never saw him play real time.
Troy is legend thank you for being a role model for us Polynesians and all your fans
Bro he is so nice he is taking more responsibility for others lives than they are themselves lol
@Cody lol dont feel bad I hated ed Reed with all my heart until he retired now I miss watching him. Needless to say I'm a huge Steelers fan.
JTA Reptiles! Could you imagine him and Ed reed in the back end or even better Ed reed Brian Dawkins or Troy or Brian Dawkins ? With the line backing core insisting of Ray Lewis and Brian urlacher and whoever else haha
@@thrill_lords8409 I'd have troy, Reed, Deon Sanders, lawrence taylor, and james Harrison... nobody would score a point all year lol
It’s helps he played defense the offensive players get fucked
Troy’s one of the many reasons I’m proud to be a lifetime Steelers fan 👍
He is so soft spoken and very humble.
Troy is my guy. Favorite Steeler of all time. One of the most naturally talented football player ever. There may be other safeties that people rank higher but if I had my pick of the litter, Troy would be my first pick.
What a great man... AB’s issues are his own and you are not responsible. You are a legend. Soft in life and a beast on the field.
RocksRox S as a former steeler and former teammate they all feel a sense of responsibility to make sure their guys are being the best they can be. This thought process is what separates them from most of the other teams in the NFL
Kuhlayo at this point I feel like we all see a huge cry for help! And you’re right, i still think that they couldn’t help him because he wasn’t open to it and they should not feel responsibility. Although, Steelers nation are a family.
Damn she pretty
Cool that Troy is getting all this publicity after I feel like I haven’t heard anything from or about him lately
He's EXTREMELY private. The Hall of Fame press is maybe the first time he's ever even given an interview.
The Steelers and him weren't on good terms after forcing him to retire.
@@LL-hc3zm he made his own decision in church search it up

Id love to hear Troy calling games on Sunday. Imagine Tony and Troy calling games that be crazy.....Tony on offense and Troy on defense and special teams calls.
Hadn't seen this particular interview until now, but Troy is just Troy. While we all know that Joe Green is the Steelers all-time MVP, Troy will always be my favorite Steeler. The way he played and the way he carries himself are so admirable. Humble. Honest. Faith-filled. Just a great guy.
Yeah Troy very humble, mellow and soft spoken. This is the first time I’ve heard him speak in public. Educated and eloquent speaker. Congratulations hall of famer.
This guy simply has no idea how to interview someone. 0:20 he doesn't even allow Polamalu to finish his FIRST sentence before interrupting.
I agree. He's a terrible interviewer
There are a lot of bad interviewers in sports talk radio, all over the country. If you can get away with having a good radio voice, then you can fake the rest. It's a shame!
Yeah I can't stand clay Travis
Clay Travis is proof that it doesn't take brains or talent to work in sports radio
@@BitcoinMotorist what city is this guy based out of? I am in the NYC sports radio market, and there are a lot of duds here too!
Wooooow, troy has more accountability for Antonio Brown then antonio has for himself, the true embodiment of maturity at his finest, thank you troy congrats on your HOF induction
Each man has their own Agency. AB is one of those guys who does HIS own thing with his own selfish needs. END OF STORY. Troy's humility very powerful, ON the field and OFF 🙌❤💯
Lizcha Kaivaha actually just watch all yall are going to be all on AB when he get back in da league
@@omckash3321 bro i think everyone is rootin for ab to get better and get back. Well more people are than not
Bengals fan here (i know, i know) Troy and Ed Reed were nightmares to face 4 times a year in the AFC North, as you can imagine. true game plan alterations had to be made for both of these guys. absolute monsters at their positions. could not stand them when they played but ill be damned if i didnt wind up liking them both
This man deserves the whole world. What a humble beast.
Troy is a class act on and off the field. Always heard amazing stories about him. I have a personal one as well. Just a great guy through and through
what an absolute class act. humble, intelligent, kind and super gifted!
Troy's a first ballot hall of Famer and great human being
This man still amazes...on and off the field legend
Troy I love you man, but the only person responsible for Antonio Brown is...Antonio Brown.

The Eradicator Nobody does anything on their own. Your reply is nothing but cliche.
Pone Vongsouvan I choose not to live in cliche land. None of us know what’s really going on. There is nothing to be right about other than regurgitating stupid ass sayings.
Lol he was speaking truth why don't you listen and learn.
Pone Vongsouvan You’ve never made a poor decision and didn’t blame someone else? You’d be the first person ever to have done that.
Troy was an incredible player but is an even better person. I'm so glad I got to watch his entire career. I miss him.
If you're interviewing a Hall of Famer, shut up and let them talk!
HUMBLE
Troy you are a stand up guy and an Amazing player! God Bless, you are missed!!!! Congrats on making it to the Hall of Fame! WELL Deserved!!
This dude was a real deal monster. He the only guy I always see in or very close to being in every play on defense. He was always everywhere
GREAT PLAYER, period. Glad for this interview. Troy is a LEGEND in the game with terrific hair.
He should be an analyst. What a great insightful mind.
Homie that’s interviewing is interrupting and annoying, shut up and listen to Troy
I saw this guy playing and HE IS A MONSTER ! And a very well educate Man👏
Troy the GREAT!!! Can't help but have nothing but love for this man!!!
Troy is a class act and a well deserved Hall of Famer. Loved watching him play with ferocity at USC and with the Steelers.
3:23 for the AB section.
James G Thx man
Troy is the embodiment of integrity.
My idol growing up. What a great professional and someone we should all look up to. I hope he stays healthy.
We in Pittsburgh re truly fortunate to have players of Troys caliber come play- perform. He went 110 % on the field, but his humble personalty and faith made him even more special. Thank you Troy you are such a joy. GOD Bless
Ah man I REALLY miss this guy
My respect and love for Troy grew 10x!
Hard to believe this guy was an absolute beast on the field. He’s sounds like a group home counselor or a daycare teacher here but in the field, he was a monster.
TempeSoldier123 He reminds me of one of my childhood friends who I played football with, who is a Pastor now. Some people just have those split personalities.
It’s amazing how Troy can turn it on when on the field! Night and day difference that’s for sure.
So humble!! God bless Troy
Troy is a class act
never expected him to be so calm
Interviewer: “So Troy, how do you feel?” Troy: “Well I really th-“ Interviewer: “You’re wrong and lemme tell you why”
Why interview the guy when you don't let him speak?
LMAO. I had to turn it off. He just was too excited and kept interrupting
Troy was so fun to watch. Every team always had to find him and not go his way. He was a brutal hitter and a smart player.
Certified steelers hater here but troy is awesome - I like the variety of personalities in the NFL and it's good to have a soft-spoken professional badass defender to balance out the more colorful personalities
Born and raised a patriots fan. But this man will always go down as my favorite football player ever. Amazing athlete, smart, well spoken and a true role model.
Should be in the Hall of Fame for great people. The fact that they all saw Antonio struggling and reaching out understanding his background speaks volume of the character of these guys in those days. Troy was an absolute freak on the field and IMO the best ever to play the position. Love the shout out to Dick Lebeau HOF and player and coach!
I hate interviewers who constantly interrupt people and won’t let them finish answering the question before they start asking another.
Never seen a Polamalu interview. Dude was impressive on the field...even more so off. Good stuff.
Much respect to Troy for being discerning in addressing the Antonio Brown's issues.
This interviewer interrupts too often and asks way too many entrapping questions. Troy does the right thing by skirting around the powder keg questions being tossed his way, but man, this interviewer needs to ask better questions and learn better etiquette.
Troy's hair was like a super hero's cape when he was flying around the field back in his day, such an awesome player!!!
A guy that is so soft spoken with a very soothing voice was one of the most ferocious players of his era...
Troy is Amazing ♥️🌟💙💪💪💪
His downfall is his own uso. He can take responsibility for his own actions
Good to see troy finally getting some notoriety. Once he got into the hall of fame it's been interview after interview
Goes to the top. Tomlin. The second he did the live Facebook thing he should’ve felt the wrath of serious discipline.
You think that has to do with what’s going on ? Lol
Judah Alexander what has to do with what’s going on then ?
Elroy Not going on Facebook Live. Maybe all the hits to head lol
Only a Teenager would have a grudge about that 😂😂
So Belichick is responsible for Aaron Hernandez ? Didin't think so .
He predicted Mahomes doing something special. GOAT🐐🐐
Troy up here sounding like Mike Jackson lol but he was the only Steeler I worried about. Joe never watched out for him on the blindside and Troy would always get him.
Go Ravens , u telling the truth
You weren't worried about James Harrison?
Arguably the greatest Pittsburgh Steeler EVER !
Mean joe Greene. KZhead the highlights
Matt Edwards it ain't ARGUABLE at all!!! It's Mean Joe Greene then everybody else!
To compare players from different era's and greatness is just silly. Troy played in a time that wasn't caveman like.
LOL! Must be a post Chuck Noll Steeler fan.
Y'all forgetting Jerome Bettis?
man if you would told how humble respect troy is off te fiekd compared to his on field persona I wouldn't believe it. this is amazing.
Spoken like a true hall of famer.
He was one of GOAT safety’s of all time. He had skills and instincts that you can’t teach.
Raise up a child in the way he should go and when he is old he will not depart from it. Troy was raised the right way.

Clay Travis had the Molly Querim technique in this interview... And I absolutely love Troy “Silent Assassin” Polomalu
I love Troy Polamalu
One of the greatest players and best people to ever play.
Longtime ravens fan i hate the steelers soooooo much but i could never hate troy. He was such a beast always paired him and ed reed up in madden.
Troy was such a complete player at safety- super instinct matched with being crazy gifted athleticism
Troy is such a nice guy. Him and Larry are really such stand up guys that are really great at what they do.
I respect Troy for not kicking a man when he down I hope somebody can reach Antonio Brown before it's too late
My favorite defensive player of his era no disrespect to anyone else who played but Troy I feel was the heart and soul of the Steelers
I love the hue of that green on the SB helmet. I wonder if an NFL team could adapt that look. Jacksonville, Miami?
Its wild seeing such an unassuming guy while simultaneously having knowledge hes one of the toughest/greatest defensive players in football history.
"Unfortunately you have to tackle people"...made me laugh.
Because he’s so soft spoken, he seems like the type of guy that you’d be surprised how big he is if you saw him in person.
For Troy to say this ... pretty insightful.
I see everyone being upset about the interviewer interrupting Troy and yes while it is rude and disrespectful, the interviewer's body language tells me he's nervous and just trying to control himself. Give the guy a break, he's human and Troy is a humble guy and sees that so he just works with him.
