The advantage is always with the Chaser, not looking at the obvious: their quiz knowledge, but the fact they do not have to buzz in and wait for their name to be called out to answer. Over the course of 2 minutes that will shave seconds off a teams time. That is why when you have a good team of 4 and if they are not answering quickly they can really underperform. You also get that huge pause when nobody knows the actual answer and they are slow to pass the question. That's why you can see quite average contestants perform very well on their own as it eliminates these disadvantages to the contestants.
I think it's probably fair to say Chaser has advantage, but let's not forget that the Chaser has to answer every question correctly. If the Chaser gets a question wrong and the players also get that question wrong, the Chaser has still lost time with that question.

Blatantly read faster for their benefit, they’re the chaser for a reason. No excuse for their extra benefit
Pushbacks and headstart give the contestants the advantage. These aspects are far more impact full and objective than a few lost seconds.

that middle one was pretty epic, 24 to start with is pretty much impossible for the chaser to win, but multiple push backs ends it right there

He should ask the questions as fast he can regardless of who he's asking. He seems to do this anyway so no problem
@@zakir2815If you've watched enough, he clearly paces to accommodate. If contestants respond back at pace he matches. Generally a clear question is more important on the contestant side

I like Shaun, but I have to say the holes in his general knowledge are very evident. In modern games I’m sure he loses more than wins, and any score 17+ he seems to be in real trouble

This Monday, big Mark got owned by a 4 person team! Statistically he's the Chaser with the most Final Chase losses, although none of the Chasers are undefeated, not even Darragh Ennis.
Why am I not surprised the majority of these are Shaun?

14:15 I just love how shocked everyone is. The team managed to put up only 14, and while they did get 5/7 pushbacks, that meant the Chaser needed only 19, which is hardly a huge effort. I’d have been more surprised if they’d won, myself 🤷🏻♂️

Realstically yes. Though theoretically he could just rattle off words at random and by good luck get them all right. The australian chasers have done this in the past. Plus people at home might want to play along with the questions so might as well run the game to the end.

I thought they overruled the Carrara stone answer. There is no such thing. It is Carrara marble. The quarries are just outside Lucca in Florence and if you visit the signs all say Marmo di Carrara or Marble of Cararra

Clearly if he names to that specific region, it can be easily inferred he knows its marble. Those are snap decisions the quiz giver has to decide whether to accept, and typically they lean the way of allowing such answers rather than pedantry.

I assume you're talking about the first clip, but the "other lass" was basically useless. She literally wanted to stop and discuss the "How many humps does the Arabian camel have?" question, even though there's only 2 possible answers and the chaser had already said the wrong one.

The Governess and Vixen are the best Chasers imo.
The Beast has the best percentage followed by Jenny and Paul then Anne.

@@leftysheppey I have watched most of the 2,000(?) shows and Jenny has shone though she, blatantly, tries to save the show money by telling contestants in Seats 3 and especially 4 to go low, even taking thousands away from the others.and when they don't listen and romp home,she is like "whatever" lol Darragh is very steady and as you may know,a former contestant who fitted the profile they wanted, exactly. Now they have an older and younger Female. A Welsh and Irish Male. An Indian and a Black Guy.All Boxes Ticked. lol

Paul is superb and would win the popularity contest amongst the chasers as he is extremely witty (a Stand-Up Comedian), a Doctor, and was World Number 11 in 2019 and he is humble however his Parkinsons id getting worse and he can no longer drive or dance,for example.
