Russian Federation's Tagir Khaibulaev wins gold in the men's -100kg judo event defeating Mongolia's Tuvshinbayar Naidan at the ExCeL - North Arena 2 at the London 2012 Olympic Games (2 August).
Judo made its very first appearance at the Olympic Games in 1964 in Tokyo. However, it was not included in the Olympic programme in 1968 in Mexico City, but returned, never to leave again, at the 1972 Games in Munich. As for women's judo, it was added to the Games in 1992 in Barcelona.
Men and women now compete in seven weight categories. There was originally a men's category open to all weights, but this event was withdrawn after the 1984 Games in Los Angeles.

Okay this is a weird comment, but @6:48 it looks like Putin removes his watch for some awkward reason, then puts it back on....

LamulatttrtorplatiesKemtsaG You’re so mean. All of Mongolians are not living on the grass. Please increase your knowledge. Read or google it about Development of Mongolia. Then comment it!!!

@Donal Finn Yes, he is a man and real hero of Mongolia.
here people are praising the Mongolian guy but russian guy also deserves applause bcoz he didn't attacked his injured leg

Both with AMAZING sportsmanship. I have never watched judo before, but the sportsmanship between them really made me smile
I was a judoka not long ago, it's. Beautiful sport with amazing sportsmanship and sense of community and care. I miss it a lot.
I love the match, but 4:46 is still what it's all about...gets me every time!
i think beside the russian guy's luck he had sportsmanship as he didn't play on the mongolian's injuried leg
+Amr Ihab You are exactly right. Excuses never finish. You have to accept the lose. You do not always win!!
Aynabek lol , Tuvshun had a serious injury. not sayin excuse lol
@AaronKangaroo look at when he walks up the stairs
Аynabek 0.
But he kind of did though? If you think about it: He lured him to the edge towards his injured (left) leg and threw him in that direction knowing FULLY he wasn't able to stop the throw? Nothing wrong about it. But avoiding to get grabbed and then perform a throw that became unstoppable was... Clever. I guess...?
Imagine how happy that Russian guy must have been being able to win the finals in front of his leader (everyone knows just how Patriotic some Russians are towards Putin, he really is like an idol to most people) and being able to hug him. Sure, the Mongolian guy was injured, but you can't help but feel incredibly happy for the Russian guy
*Muslim.
I like the way Tuvshinbayar Naidan actually accepts that he lost. What a wrestler!

Strange time to watch this video.
Mongolia had Torn ACL and MCL
These two met before also. Tagir won that too. But both are legends
He can't even walk up the stairs
He was injured
your guy was just lucky. Taigir must prove himself in Rio Olympics. Tuvshinbayar is 2008 Olympic champion
NAIDAN TUVSHINBAYAR(MGL) was seriously injured

Super quick for a 100kg.
Super.
Did he try to steal Putin's watch at 6:45?
At 4:20, when Putin gives a standing ovation you can see that his watch is not buckled in place; when they shake hands, the watch moves down towards his palms!
Dagestan💪🏻
Putin loves Judo so much...He black belt in Judo
i dont know judo, so should there be more rounds? or is the way he did instant elimanation?
There are no rounds in judo, a 5 minute round, and if its a draw they go to an extra time called the golden score which is an open time round that ends only with either of judokas scoring. Landing your opponent flat at his back wins you the fight, its called ippon, and this is what happened here.
Alla pugashewa

you could see from the match and his feet naidan tuvshinbayar becomes almost unconscious in this match due to injury from previous match
Judo seems to predominantly use the Gi. Many of the throws and submissions wouldn't work if they weren't wearing thick clothing unlike Wrestling where the takedowns work regardless of the opponents clothing. Plus the submissions are never completed like they are in Jiu-Jitsu.
You good they legit work without a gi you 🤡
I would have expected better than this for an olympic judo final..
