It is. Tapping mags upside-down risks losing bullets. This is why mags are always stored upside down in mag pouches. Well two reasons. 1 when you grab them you already have them in the perfect position for quick reload. But 2 if a round falls out it's in the pouch. That being said you will rarely if ever see anyone binding mags like that as it uselessly adds weight to your weapon and when both mags are empty your only option when storing it is a back pack. They are honestly impractical versus dry practicing your reloads.

I worked for an aircav guy who got one of the first issued M16's. He said the A1 was a jamomatic if you tried magdumping a full 20 round mag. So he would only load 10 rounds in each mag, and taped three together in a star shape. He was a pretty cool guy. He was first issued the M79, and his descriptions of firefights and firing buckshot into the jungle were pretty intense. He hated the M14 for it's weight, and thought the M16 was the best weapon he ever carried.

The only reason it experienced issues is because of the change of powder type, to a powder that the rifle was not ever designed to use. The rifle itself never was the issue. It never needed a forward assist, and it never was a "jam-o-matic". As you can even tell in the video, Phuc Long has either a 602 clone or an SP-1(more like this one) rifle, which is a 'slickside' (no forward assist).. Well, the Air Force was running slick side all the way up to their 604 M16 (not M16A1), and it was fine. Again, the ONLY time they experienced malfunctions? Had to do with the powder. If a cartridge ever fails to go into battery for some reason? A simple thumb press into the 'scallop' of the bolt carrier either will correct the problem, OR you've got a bigger issue that requires remedial action (drop mag, clear chamber, insert mag, close bolt).

@@rodgersmith1573 Yep. One of the primary reason for issues on the A1 was the lack of regular maintenance. Powder fouling is no joke. I ran an A2 in a summer long, weekly competition, and made the mistake of not cleaning it atleast every other match a few times. A clean rifle ran flawlessly, a dirty one jammed atleast once a stage. I'm still kicking myself over it, but one week I almost had 100% accuracy in a match. On the very last stage, I went to take my second shot, and I had a failure to eject. I ended up with 98% that day because I ran out of time to clear my rifle and engage the last couple targets.

Imagine a miniature GAU-8 that can be held like a mini gun.
I feel that the German one is most practical.
It is. Tapping mags upside-down risks losing bullets. This is why mags are always stored upside down in mag pouches. Well two reasons. 1 when you grab them you already have them in the perfect position for quick reload. But 2 if a round falls out it's in the pouch. That being said you will rarely if ever see anyone binding mags like that as it uselessly adds weight to your weapon and when both mags are empty your only option when storing it is a back pack. They are honestly impractical versus dry practicing your reloads.

I have the russian one but a bit tighter and it's still really good. Ofc the german is better, but he made the others look much worse than they need to be.

I worked for an aircav guy who got one of the first issued M16's. He said the A1 was a jamomatic if you tried magdumping a full 20 round mag. So he would only load 10 rounds in each mag, and taped three together in a star shape. He was a pretty cool guy. He was first issued the M79, and his descriptions of firefights and firing buckshot into the jungle were pretty intense. He hated the M14 for it's weight, and thought the M16 was the best weapon he ever carried.
The only reason it experienced issues is because of the change of powder type, to a powder that the rifle was not ever designed to use. The rifle itself never was the issue. It never needed a forward assist, and it never was a "jam-o-matic". As you can even tell in the video, Phuc Long has either a 602 clone or an SP-1(more like this one) rifle, which is a 'slickside' (no forward assist).. Well, the Air Force was running slick side all the way up to their 604 M16 (not M16A1), and it was fine. Again, the ONLY time they experienced malfunctions? Had to do with the powder. If a cartridge ever fails to go into battery for some reason? A simple thumb press into the 'scallop' of the bolt carrier either will correct the problem, OR you've got a bigger issue that requires remedial action (drop mag, clear chamber, insert mag, close bolt).
@@rodgersmith1573 Yep. One of the primary reason for issues on the A1 was the lack of regular maintenance. Powder fouling is no joke. I ran an A2 in a summer long, weekly competition, and made the mistake of not cleaning it atleast every other match a few times. A clean rifle ran flawlessly, a dirty one jammed atleast once a stage. I'm still kicking myself over it, but one week I almost had 100% accuracy in a match. On the very last stage, I went to take my second shot, and I had a failure to eject. I ended up with 98% that day because I ran out of time to clear my rifle and engage the last couple targets.
