There have been so many powerful singing performances I've watched the past 5 years of the Voice. The shows always had great singers! I just hope and pray sometime soon the war will end with Ukraine victory and the Ukraine Voice continues again.

    • A year later and it looks like theatre.. Have you done your homework yet? I have. “Slava Ukraini” is what the Nazi SS screamed when they took axes to Jewish, Polish, and Soviet civilians nearly a hundred years ago.. Turns out that it’s the U.S. who sponsored the Nazis to begin with and Ukraine is the Reich Wing 2.0. US is basically using Ukraine as a human shield against Russia much like the U.S. backed the Nazis to harm the USSR. I can run the history if you like. It doesn’t bode well for Ukraine, the US, the West, etc..

    • There is an important story about this song, in cause of which The Voice judges stood up, silently and sadly. In spring 2014 around of hundred Ukrainian protestants were killed by Yanukovich (putin-backed president of Ukraine, who run away after this crime) gunmen and next day these people were buried. Before funeral their bodies were carried through the one million crowd on Maydan Square on the hands and this song was sung this time by The Piccardian Tertsiya quartet ( kzhead.info/sun/lquwdaaGaJZ9eYk/bejne.html ). Since that time the song and the event are joined at people mind

Did they escape? All the beauty of the Voice, the stage, all the love of the art is a hollow ghostly shell. No matter whether that area is touched or not, life and art will never be the same. I knew this song from years back watching The Voice Ukraine, never knew what it meant until 3 years ago... 100 lost souls inspired this powerful song, imagine a nation so passionate about their own, and now imagine how they feel today in 2022?... Good luck Mr Putin! My heart truly bleeds for this passionate nation. Never has music brought so much modern passion like the folk music from Ukraine today. • This is how I understand it translates more or less: === Oh, duckling floats on Tisyna Duckling floats on Tisyna. My mother, don't swear me, My mother, don't swear me. Oh, if you will swear me at dark hour, If you will swear me at dark hour. I don't know where I'll die, I don't know where I'll die. Oh, I'll die on foreign lands I will die on foreign lands. Who will prepare a grave for me? Who will prepare a grave for me? Oh, another people will prepare, Strangers will prepare. Won't you regret, mother? Won't you regret, mother? Oh, my son, how could I not regret? My son, how could I not regret? You were laying on my heart, You were laying on my heart. Oh, duckling floats on Tisyna Duckling floats on Tisyna.

  • Tina is such a beautiful soul.. The way she hit her button at the end was just as amazing as the voice of this singer.. I do not understand the language but as I was listening to this singer and how she played her instrument, I was also reading the words on the screen about the reason and meaning of this song.. I cant imagine how very meaningful this audition was and still is today with the horror of the war going on right now today in Ukraine.. My deepest and sincerest condolences to everyone who has lost a loved one in and because of war..

    • Note to self: the hellish carnage in Ukraine continues into its 3rd month. I try to comprehend the scale of the evil, the deliberate destruction and heinous genocide Russia is commiting in the 21st century. No surprise the Western news media is failing to capture and explain some of the worst crimes, such as the Russian Concentration and Extermination ("Filtration" ) Camps. Or the scale of forced deportation of millions of Ukrainians from Eastern Ukraine to known filtration camps near the border with Ukraine, or deep inside Russia. The small ray of sunshine is the unity of many countries around the world to provide un support of Ukraine. It must last. 🇺🇦 Slava Ukraina!
