The Chicago Bears are projected to select USC QB Caleb Williams with the 1st overall pick, and they’ve spent the offseason loading up on talent like D’Andre Swift and Keenan Allen. Emmanuel Acho, Joy Taylor, James Jones, and LeSean McCoy ask what a successful season would look like for Caleb.

  • Listen, I’m a Bears fan and I’m happy we’re taking Caleb but for 10:33 him to say Fields didn’t develop is preposterous. Very very few QBs got thrown into the type of situation that Fields did. He was thrown to the Lions with literally no help. He was supposed to be on the bench his rookie year but Bears starting QB got hurt. 2nd season was a complete tear down of the team. Fields showed a lot of promise and growth! This past season, he was also showing good developmental! Did he have some areas to improve? Yes! He also accounted for 21 TDs. He was showing very good growth. I don’t know why this guy doesn’t tell the complete story on Fields. He’s hating on him and it’s pathetic. I wish Fields well but we had to move on due to contract situation also. Stop saying nonsense about Fields. Fields was beloved by Chicago fans and his teammates because he was a true leader also.

He's one of 3 QBs to put up rushing/passing numbers in history, others being Lamar Jackson and Cam Newton. Listen, I'm glad that we're going with Caleb but Ryan Poles himself said Bears would be sticking with Fields if they weren't presented with opportunity of 1st pick in draft. You're just spewing total nonsense.

    • @@bigdogstatus83 Nah, bro. I supported Fields all 3 yrs he was with the Bears. Stats showed slight improvement for Fields but they just were not enough. Justin has just one problem and it's a big one. He struggles to see the field. He requires to much time when he goes through his progressions in which is why he holds the ball way to long. Also keep in mind Fields was a Ryan Pace/Matt Nagys guy. Poles wants to draft his own guy now because Fields just didn't show enough last season. It's a new chapter for the Bears as Ryan Poles is constructing HIS team. Not this year but 2 years from now we will be contending for a Super Bowl. Bear down!

    • Nonsense. They've just been incompetent top down. I couldn't stand Dikta cause he pushed toughness over brains. We should've had no less than 2 SB wins. But we were dumb on Offense. The Defense culture stuck because they weren't smart enough to fix the Oline, and explosive weapons. Offense just looks dumb. Little to no presnap motion, predictable runs that lead to 3rd and long and of course penalties that weak Offenses cannot overcome. They not only select the wrong QB, they rarely protect them and can't develop players. Gross ineptitude. Limit the run, pressure the QB, stay out of 3rd and long, protect ur QB is essential to winning. Pass rush and Oline with determine # of wins. Poles has us at the threshold of a new era. Even if he fails, we won't be talent starved and CAP strapped. The game is won and lost in the trenches. So sure up both sides. Bear Down.

      @darrencroom7701@darrencroom7701Ай бұрын
    • @jimmytwotimez only reason you feel that way is because we havent really had talent on the offense. Now that we have a competent QB coming and offensive weapons, having a defensive culture is the way to win in todays game. Chiefs just proved that with their last two rings, the rams and Buccaneers as well.

  • First time viewer of "Speak". Did any of them actually prepare to answer the question posed in the title? At least Jones played in the division. McCoy and Taylor just shoot from the hip. Chicago has a new President, a third year GM, a third year HC, a new OC, a new DC, and by all accounts a new QB....but Joy brings up the Bears performance over the last thirty years as evidence that the new QB will struggle. Quite simply, this isn't the same old Bears, but her in depth analysis is, "yea, but looked what happened before." Seem to forget that the Bears are drafting Carolina's pick @ #1. The turnaround has already started. Bears were 5-4 down the stretch last year, and led the league (#1) in interceptions and rushing defense. #5 in takeaways. No QB drafted in the top five in NFL history has ever had two wideouts that each had 1,200 yards receiving in the the previous year....until 2024 Bears. Just saying. And with a run on QB and WR early in the draft, they will also have the opportunity to draft at minimum the second best OL or DL player at #9. Hard to convince me a successful season for Caleb Williams is not 10+ wins. Time will tell, but why don't these folks talk more about the 2024 team Caleb Williams is joining when thay attempt to determine what success looks like for him? It's a team game.

  • To be successful, she is right, he has to look like an NFL QB. But not just that. He has to produce actual "game winning drives" like the best do. Not throw the pick on the last drive. Actually put them in the endzone or at the FG location. He does that, they should at least compete for playoffs if not be in it. I say that because with so many new pieces, a new OC, Rookie QB, it sometimes takes a year in the system to really get the engine tuned up. So even if they don't make playoffs, they need to be in contention that last week. And Caleb has to win some ballgames because of his play in the last minutes/drives.

  • the expectation for a bears fan is to get at least 6 wins first year, and then two WOW games in the wins. don’t set the bar high, it’s da bears. 2 things I’ll say. - Hey Shady, If you watched his interview at the combine and with Colin Cowherd, he doesn’t like to scramble. that’s not his thing-his signature. he WANTS to stand in the pocket, and still make the offscript plays if he HAS to, but he CAN’T if his OL FAILS him! Along with his poor defenses ranked 60th @ OU, 94th & 116th @ USC! It progressively got WORSE!!! His mindset was “if I don’t score on every possession then I’m probably losing the game.” only him and Jayden Daniels had that mindset last year. - I watched his first ever game he played in-arguably the biggest one of his career-and he wowed EVERYONE and won the job once Spencer Rattler was benched. He has all the intangibles to be an NFL QB and only has 1 flaw-only one-its the same flaw Penix has! He sometimes tends to go for the 3 point shot instead of the layup-meaning he goes for the deep throws rather than the sure ones and it won’t always work in the NFL with tight coverage.

JF fandom aside.. they were absolutely sure that Caleb was going to come in year one and be a 4k passer.. now the roster is built for no true excuses and it’s give him time. I do agree the Bears just now finally got good on paper.. so he (Caleb) should hit the ground running. If you feel like JF was so bad like Shady continues to say, the Bears won 7 games in spite of Fields with 3 games they should have won but folded. If CW is better, then the floor here needs to be 7-10 wins and with better line play and receivers 3k yards should be a lay up since they don’t think Fields can throw and he had about 2500 yds last season.

That defense will win them games and the offense should look better next year even if CW plays a game manager roll or if Bagent has to play. This is a team that is getting significantly better on offense after beating the lions once when they should have beat them twice. They also have a very easy schedule in comparison to the rest of their division. Should be able to split with everyone in their division and beat up on the bad teams to get to a wild card game
