Hello
How can i acquireth yond pulchritudinous emoji mine own lief sire?
listen man you can make your city as unrealistic as you want and people will still move in there's a KZheadr called Graystillplays where he made his cities conditions as worth as possible and 3 million people still moved in
Btw do you have Paddy shirts??
Nice!
Would be fun to see Biffa try to fix the traffic in this city when you're done with it. It must be the ultimate challenge for sure
YES good idea
YES!
Came here to say the same thing
Not just fix it but fix it without addind or removing any roads
@@user-vo3hu7qg1o Yes! because we know that the roads are already placed in the most efficient way possible. Its the traffic management, lane management, and road guidelines that were put in place by the Architects.
Someone needs to track down exactly what roads RCE designed, and then interview the people in the area and see how badly it effected them.
Easy to find, they're the knob-shaped ones.
Lewisham resident here. I have first-hand experience of the boroughwide 20mph zone that RCE helped design. To be fair, RCE didn't come up with the idea of a boroughwide 20mph zone. It was a council decision - all Matt did was design the signs which say 20 on them, and decide where to place them. The 20 zone has locked my available routes to the remaining 30 roads going through the borough (these would be the red routes owned by TfL). I was ratrunning a lot less, but it also left me with fewer diversionary options should I be experience delays on the trunk road. That was until Covid19. The pandemic has done more to alleviate congestion on the UK's roads than any traffic scheme (Traffic is still not back at pre-pandemic levels). Oh you wanted to know how Matt's signs are getting along? They're doing okay, apart from the faded paint on the 20 road markings of Perry Hill, Exbury Road, Belmont Hill & Verdant Lane.
That's pretty cool!
Holy shit this is me realising I have been affected by RCE's choices. As a pedestrian and cyclist however, I much enjoyed the lower speeds.
13:30 your pumps are right next to the water spawn for the lake. Those will increase the output when the target water level set on the spawner isn't reached. So when you started vacuuming the water it increased output.
Can anyone explain why its so fun and relaxing to watch all of this perfect architect free content
Do you mean "architect-free"?
Yes
It is all the efficiency and practicality only engineering can provide that makes it so cathartic.
I don't know, trying to integrate penis-knob-shaft-things into every aspect of a city's road layout seems pretty architecty to me...
@@ziiofswe They are the most efficient, strongest and practical shape, of course it is gonna be used everywhere. An architect would do something stupid and slow instead
Citizens in Matts city; "I need to drive half a kilometer to the store, it'll only take 6 hours." "Mommy, mommy, where's daddy gone?" "He went to the store to buy milk." "But he's been gone 2 years." "Yes, it's a quick drive." "Hey Bob, when will they get here to take away that dead body in your front yard?" "I checked the app 2 days ago, it said he was nearly halfway here so by next Tuesday."
"Oh, you dont have to take the dead body anymore, it already decomposed and became fertilizer for our weed plantation! Our crop is thriving!" "Damn now i must drive back to home, as the dead body problem is solved... Hope my children haven't finished their graduation yet, i left when they were 12, time goes fast these days."
The top one is like being back in LA, I swear I once spent 4 hours driving half a mile no joke.
Admittedly, it would be hilarious to see Biffa take a stab at Engitopia.
Fr tho I wanna see him do that
Yeah I can see this possibly making him rage
I think he called it "doing a bit of Biffaridge". @13:39
I think if Biffa engaged in this one, his tea consumption just to remain sane wouldn‘t go unnoticed on Wall Street.
Love the solar power plant in the shadow of the mountain, real clever.
That’s nothing, did you know that upstate New York- one of the snowiest places in the lower 48- has SOLAR FARMS?
“When the architect and engineer don’t talk to each other.” *and both professionals exclude the landscape architect from the project*
We started our channels at the same time and I remember seeing one of your posts on a small youtuber reddit around that time. I checked you out and thought "man, this guys pretty good, he's gonna do well". Now today this video just popped up in my recommended and I was like "oh hey, I remember that guy!" and lo and behold, you've made it! We don't know each other but I feel really happy and proud of you for some reason?? Anyway, great work!
This should be pinned
I also am very proud of RCE! Thanks for the content! Hi Paddy!!
we get it, you're trying to plug your channel
As a fellow registered Civil Engineer...these videos bring a smile to my face, and a chuckle to my soul.
@14:20 I am imagining Biffa screaming at the screen then shedding a tear after watching this roundabout setup 😂
Biffa cries tears of Yorkshire tea. He's got a pot full after this episode.
the water pumps in architect hill are connected to your main water grid so you are making the engineers drink turds to fix this just seperate the grids so you have 2 separate water grids
I could be wrong, but I think Cities Skylines doesn't treat water pollution as specific to a given grid. I think that even if the grids are disconnected, a pollution value greater than zero affects the entire city.
RCE: I love forests. Also RCE: "I'm sorry Mr. Tree, but you're about to get destroyed."
If he really loved trees, he would put it in the middle of the road, like any normal engineer.
@@MacacoInformatica "Normal Engineer" 😂😂
"When the architect and the engineer don't talk with each other" That explains a lot of things
So basically a long conversation about what one guy wants to do, and the other guy explaining why it's not physically possible.
"We have traffic problems at the dick. The traffic is queued up all the way down the shaft and it won't be long until the left nut is covered in traffic too!!" - RCE, 2022
YESSSSS collab!!! Send this to Biffa to traffic fix!! What an idea!!
you should send this map to Biffa for a city fix, it'd be the funniest crossover on KZhead
Yes!
Absolutely!!!! :-]
yeah it would be hilarious, Biffa would talk about tea because that's all he fucking does
I like how this game fits so many playing styles. You got your noobs that create the grid over and over, your slightly more ambitious players, your detailers, your customizers, and then you got your adults bringing our their inner 5 year old. Whats a city without a poo mountain?
9:29 your changing a efficient train track to look better, come on Matt that’s a architect move
I love that RCE put up a photo of a spaghetti junction in Atlanta GA, as an Atlantan we have an interchange in Atlanta we call spaghetti junction and it's not that one. Look up the Tom Moreland Interchange.
Always loving these City Skylines uploads!
literally all I can think as I watch this is "how is this city ALIVE" I mean big parts of it are dying but it's not a complete ghost town and I'm just wondering HOW
Congratulations for 1 million you totally deserver it!!!
Can't wait to see how strong the new area becomes now that it has a large base with a... bushy interchange right above it
I'm so addicted to your videos. Like eating Pringles I can't stop!
when i see your city building skills i start to understand how the management of my workplace work
He's done it lads. His job has become drawing knobs in video games. He's living the dream. Cheers RCE
never cease to make me laugh and facepalm. every city skylines episode. love it!
It’s kinda weird seeing a non-famous bridge from your home city randomly in a video game.
you really should get biffa to fix the city, would make good content for both of you!. id love to hear biffa swear when he loads it
loving seeing this town "evolve" every series
I have a suggestion for your architect’s island: a modder called Senfkorn, has a ploppable asset called ‘Woodlog Architects’. It even has wooden cladding, so it should be nice and flammable! 😈🔥
( 19:15 ) That's what it feels to drive in some parts of Milwaukee Wisconsin.
At 5M you should give it to Biffa to fix your traffic.
Hi RCE this is my fastest click to one of your notification! Only 2 min 😄 2:04 almost face reveal btw "spaghetti junction" the best junction 😂
Finally! I've been waiting forever for another video from engitopia
Highways in real life cities in a nutshell: GPS: "Take the right exit" *There are 5+ right exits*
That junction is beautiful and horrific at the same time, I honestly can’t even comprehend how it works, I love it so much. I had a similar experience as a kid and I’m happy to say I also built crazy motorways in this game.
Biffa taking a look the traffic (or anything else) in Matt’s city would be the best crossover I’ve seen!
Matt! Your citizens are getting sick because some waterpumps are pumping poop. I had that problem too XD. Probably the pumps from the architechs are connected to the rest of the city
This is likely the correct answer. Or there are water pumps or water towers in a spot with ground/water pollution.
I'm pretty sure the poo water is just for the architects. The water networks aren't connected.
I got this problem too but THERE LITERALY NO ANY WASTE how tf can i fix it
He did have that problem, but I'm pretty sure he fixed that in a previous video. I think the problem now is traffic, preventing ambulances getting around (and fire engines, hence all the burnt down buildings in the industrial area)
I appreciate the hardwork you put in your video . Really addictive entertainment , and great source of relif after a long day of work . Keep up the good work .
i love how he uploads just as i get back from school
Love these episodes, so relaxing to watch and of course architect bashing 👌👍
BTW with the bulldozer you can select mode - abandoned and set the size to the largest to get rid of abandoned buildings quickly
I hope matt actually makes blueprints with the strongest shape in them, hoping that one day his boss finally agrees to the superiority of it, and includes it into a build
Biffa is about to spill his tea with all the anxiety you're causing him with that roundabout... Maybe you should send it his way to fix lol
Biffa would probably cry if he had to work on these roads. But it would be hilarious for everyone else!
Now THAT is a marvel of modern architec...errr engineering. Fabulously well desig, errr built. Kudos.
And he STILL hasn't connected the power line from the Poop Chute to the city...
With those highways you must’ve helped design Huston
Biffa is somewhere close by pulling his hair out.
There is an auto demolish mod available- it demolished abandoned buildings immediately. Super good mod
I love the cemeteries next to the skate parks. That's brilliant!
A Biffa cross-over with this city would be epic.
Loving the Cities Skylines series
The knob designs and jokes never get old. Keep them coming 😁
Matt is really giving off Let’s Game It Out vibes with that “junction”
Both funny and genuinely interesting. Great stuff.
If Biffa does this city he needs to make sure he always agrees that the road layout is super efficient.
please give Biffa your city. I'd love to see his response to it so much
I think Matt should make a new city skylines world where he tries to make the best city possible without ruining it
Matt using what he learned from draining the sea for Atlantis, while forgetting what he learned about water spawners in lakes _on the exact same map_ xD Also flooding happening because of how water reacts when you pour it into a hole: it splashes around.
Just found this channel last week. Absolutely Epic and hilarious! Love the brown power poocano and turdalwaves. Keep the content coming!
That junction does take me bake to my childhood. How come everything seemed so much more complicated then? Great video.
Think Matt likes Architects 😁 2:04 sneak peek at Matt's Engineering beard puts the fear in Architects 😨 only you Matt would make Helicopters do that shape 🤣🤣
0:40 I wasn't expecting him to come for us that hard xD
As someone who grew up driving through Atlanta… spaghetti junction was always a fun time for my toddler self.
When he said spaghetti I thought he was about to say Spaghetti Bowl (a similar road system in Salt Lake City)
The super pumps are so powerful, that they are actually reversing the waterflow on the river exiting the lake. Hence the lake overflows.
Was going to comment how fun it would be to watch biffa deal with engitopia. The helicopter tour distracted me. Thank you for the laugh =D
I would love to see Biffa fix this city.
10:00 I went through Minneapolis, Minnesota once a couple of years back........Their roads and overpasses looked *exactly* like that!
“You can see all of the hearse’s leaving, that’s good” Yes. Very good
Seeing the swarm of helicopters, I feel this was a CCR Fortunate Son moment that was passed up.
as a traffic signal control researcher, your traffic management is really good /s
just dropped by and less than one minute in the engineer is already hating on architects. absolutely loved it
18:09, best engineering thing ever!
*Real Civil Engineer* - “Hello! Welcome back fellow engineers.” *Me who is definitely not an engineer* - “Ahh yes, hello there”
At the beginning when you were making the two circles. I thought you were making the strongest shape.
You need the auto emptying mod, and add more landfill sites. A lot of the problems you're facing are with garbage and dead people stacking up.
As a Brummie, I can confirm this 9:46 is exactly what it feels like to drive around spaghetti junction
I love the way you can mess with water levels with pumps and outflow pipes, on my own playthroughs I’ve drained lakes by accident using water pumps.
Is it bad that I watched the whole 19+ mins of this video? No? LOVE EVERY, SINGLE, COMMENTARY! Now I'm itching to go back to Cities: Skylines (if they haven't burned down to the ground already (been away for years!).
6:26 Me: Can’t we just dig the ground?
As ridiculous as i am i never envisioned the ol’ twig and berries in Cities Skylines. You Sir are a genius !! 🤣😂.
Matt if you ever go to Boston there’s this really cool bridge system to drive on and look at
I laughed out loud when you installed the super pumps. Really enjoy your videos!
Love the merch! Whoever the artist is did a fantastic job! Bought a shirt and will order again once you stock a ✌️🖤🌉 coffee cup
09:52, Let me guess, was this on the M25 near the junction with the M23 (J7 Merstham interchange)? It's either that or the M25/M1 Chiswell interchange. Can't be Almondsbury or Thorney, because you can't easily see the 4-stack bridges on those interchanges. And for all other interchanges, there aren't enough stacks to inspire Matt to take up civil engineering. Of the remaining two options, I'm leaning toward Merstham because of the Merstham railway bridge preceding it (similar to 09:42).
Love the series keep uploading this
The real engineer is the one that knows we love traffic and try his best to make it last longer than it should.
Ok, hold up a minute... I gotta know more about the guitars hanging in your promo shot.
All these videos are a mix between greystill plays and Let's game it out I love it😂
9:09 That's the first time I've recognized an intersection in a situation like this.
You just mastered the game. Well done
13:08 **In doing so he floods my brain!** - This lake, 2022 Yes, its an encanto reference
18:10 I like the helicopter path it represents something
You absolutely need to send this to Biffa for a traffic fix, that would be hilarious! Lol
Would Biffa even dare to look at this city? Is there enough tea in the world?
heeeeey, spaghetti junction reference. love to see georgia love
