Ivys have crazily good financial aid, the are often better than state school offers, and they beat out many scholarships values, even though the sticker price is like 80k it is hardly that 👍 they have the very intent to keep you out debt

Very impressive...I'm a psychologist and want to tell you that your reactions were the most heartfelt of all of the reactions I've seen. You knew earlier than most exactly what you wanted and the passion behind your reactions showed your dedication to achieving your goal. At the end of the video, when you showed the photos of your development from childhood on of your interest in learning about the body and medicine, it became clear how your passion had been nurtured along the way. The fact that you have chosen a no-debt future means that you fulfil the intelligence* and patient-first requirements. That you have chosen a BSMD path ticks the passion leg and to remain close enough to family, the compassionate one. You'll be a most-excellent MD. Congratulations! * For the general reader: To choose a "famous" college, incurring in debt, makes no financial sense whatsoever. No prestige can compensate the conditioning you will suffer while taking your decisions at the start of your professional life. Lydia will be free to choose whatever she wants to do!

Finally decided to watch this video after knowing you for about a semester and damn. You’re way more impressive than I had ever imagined. I applied to a lot of these same scholarship programs and schools but didn’t make it anywhere. Seeing how many successes you had and your connection with your family and their reactions also really brightened my day. This vid was fire and I wanna keep seeing more vids as you continue your education here at the U of A.

Girl congrats. I am graduating my small town university two years early and went through my own cycle (granted for Neuroscience PhD programs). The application process to these larger and competitive programs really do help you grow. I cannot say I know if I will yet be attending a PhD program (waitlisted at the one of two schools I interviewed at) but I can say I am excited for the journey ahead. Congrats again and good luck with the coming 7 years. I have full faith that you will rock it :)

I just finished watching your stats/EC video and it was so nicely edited and very helpful in reassuring me in navigating my own personal journey when I apply to college this upcoming year! As someone who is very invested in chemistry and research in this medical field seeing someone beautifully craft their high school experience to the fullest was so motivating, especially in medicine! Next year I am going to be taking AP Chemistry, Pharmaceutical Technician training, Computational Chemistry, Research in Chemistry, and Medicinal Computational Chemistry through my school and another state-funded gifted science and math online program I was accepted into! Unfortunately, my high school doesn't really have a very active HOSA chapter but nonetheless, I'm hoping for the best. So I am so excited!! I loved your video so much and can't wait to see any other tips you have to offer in the future! You're a lifesaver and such a role model to look up to!

Wow wow wow! I don’t know you and this just showed up in my recommended but I am SO proud of you! I’m about to finish my junior year of college as a Genetics, Cell Biology & Development major and YOU inspire me SO MUCH! Your passion for medicine is so evident in this video, and in your other two, and you deserve every single acceptance you received. I entered college saying “there is absolutely no way in the world I’d ever go to medical school” but I’m leaving next year planning to apply after a gap year. Switching from research focused to pre-health less than a year before you graduate with your undergrad degree is absolutely terrifying in so many ways (and I even kept the same degree program) but seeing someone younger than me with such a passion for medicine already is so inspiring. @@BSMDLyd The point I was trying to make is although Brown PLME is known to be the top BSMD program in the USA (With Northwestern). 2 students who got accepted to 8 Ivy's took a different journey, and ended up at the same destination. 1 To attend Harvard 2. The other Alabama Both ended up at Columbia Medical school, at the same time. Not sure if either got the scholarships that Columbia Medical school offers which is a full-ride through medical school. But there's more than one way to get to your destination. I believe your way of going to Arizona BS/MD is prudent and will have nothing but a positive results in the future.

Congrats!! I chose REMS at UR over Yale, and (although Yale wasn't a BS-MD), I so understand the gradual process of realizing that prestige isn't that important and choosing to pursue your true goals. In case you've been experiencing people questioning your decision (cause I sure have been), I want to say I think your decision is very wise and I back it 100%.

This was very fun to watch. It shows you know what you wanted and went for it. I thought my daughters applications were competitive applying to music conservatories. The competition you faced was next level. My daughter was waitlisted at all 5 of the ivies and her top 2 music school choices but she did get amazing offerers from 5 top 10% schools including 2 full rides. She is now so burned out that she can’t decide since none were her top choice (she did get into the schools I thought she would thrive at) might sound weird from a stranger but I’m so proud of you. I know you will do amazing. Where did you decide to go?? Brown?

Congratulations on your acceptances, that’s amazing!! I’m a rising senior in high school and am thinking about applying to BS/MD programs. However, I don’t really have any medical experiences and just wanted to know your opinion on whether I should bother applying? Once again, congrats!
I'd say it wouldn't hurt to apply if you have science experience, but if you haven't truly explored medicine in-depth then it might be wise to hold off on applying to med school and wait to have the full undergraduate experience so you can really be sure that this is the career you wish to pursue for the rest of your life. So I happen to live in a community with a world class university. We are actually home to 2 universities and 1 technical college. I find it interesting that there is so much pressure to go else where to school when there literally wonderful institutions in ones backyard. Your decision is your own. My high school. Graduating class has just shy of 200 hundred students and more than half of us stayed in town to finish at least our undergraduate studies . Of course moving on for my specialized training. I can confidently confirm that graduating with no debt is the way to go! My classmates who chose to stay local are in some cases 10 -15 years ahead ( financially ) compared to others who went away. BSMD programs provide high school seniors with provisional acceptance to medical school. You have to apply to these separately, but you can still major in neuroscience. Reach out via my email address if you have any questions!! :) best of luck ❤️
Wow! As a Canadian this is so crazy. It’s not as crazy here. You apply to maybe 3 schools and usually get in. Also, you were in kindergarten 2 years after I graduated high school and the year I graduated college (2 year diploma). It’s amazing how, at such a young age, you’re already on the path to being a md. Congrats from this old 33 year old!!!!!
