You can never go wrong with Christian Bale. This man can play any character without seeing him as his other characters he played in the past. This movie gonna be good. Also great cast.
With his immense talent, and quirky charisma, thinking Ford v Ferrari, and the Big Short (where he played Michael Burry, also one eyed) - definitely agree! Looking forward to it

THIS. This is a very underappreciated talent of his. Exhibit A; I tried to watch Greta gerwigs little women with all of those really famous and well known actors, but I just couldn't get into it because it felt like the actors were just playing dress up and house with each other. So Im sure this will be a good movie because these actors know to shape shift, Anya Taylor joy, Rami Malek and Bale especially. I loved this movie on several levels: First, most people have no clue what WWI and WWII were like and how much they continued to affect everyone's lives mentally and physically after the wars actually ended. This covers a lot of situations and struggles that really happened. People found ways to cope with and survive hard lives they didn't ask for or deserve. So much was lost on so many levels. The filmography, script, timing, all seemed really great to me. And yes, the AMAZING ACTORS really made this an even more amazing movie.

A true cinema should be like this. It was an experience to watch this film and a pleasant one. 10/10 for me.

I am pretty glad Margot Robbie didn't just become a bombshell but is actually getting nice roles where she has a purpose and not just an eye candy. I am looking forward to her performance in this and in Barbie next year!

It’s refreshing to ask yourself “wow, wtf is this?” In a way that makes you want to go see what it’s about.
So much better than feeling like you watched a whole movie in a trailer and had the best moments and plot points spoiled....
If Swift’s screen time is kept to a minimum, it should be great.
I've seen this and I truly feel it's one of the best movies I've ever seen in a long time
I loved this movie - just finished watching it for the second night in a row, that good. I found the first time I had a hard time following the story... I always felt a step behind understanding what was going on. I think if they added some character name captions on screen as they appear that would have helped a lot (they do it with some random dudes at the end that didn't matter). Such a treasure of a film tho! Historical, rich, comical, lovely.
This is probably one of the best cast set ups in a long time and the period it's set in is even more amazing. Cannot wait to see this in theaters.

I was so excited to see it solely because of the cast, but I think we need to hold the horrible person of a director David O Russell into account though. If we're going to hate on Harvey Weinstein, this guy is as bad. To his own niece.
If by "long time" you mean a couple of months then sure. Great cast and has good potential, but I wouldn't say we don't get at least once a year a film with at least 10 industry famous and respected actors.

This movie is awesome! The story, the actors, the richness of the sets, the colouring... everything is great! Christian Bale is hilarious as usual. That man still has so much potential, but the rest of the cast is equally wonderful.

Just because a movie is a box office failure doesn't make it a bad movie. Barbie has made a billion dollars but it ain't gonna win any Oscars. I found Amsterdam to be thoroughly enjoyable despite not being a box office smash. If you didn't enjoy them that's a just a shame.
Given ridiculously talented star studded cast, Christian Bale still stands tall in every frame. We need more movies like this.

That isn't true. There is clear overlap in emotional outbursts, mannerisms etc. throughout his movies. The Machinist i.e. Trevor Reznik, Russell Baze in out of the Furnace and Dieter Dengler in Rescue Dawn are very similar. characters

Nice to see Chris Rock and Mike Myers doing well for themselves. Amazing that they’re working for Dave O Russell this time around. Both of them deserve a good film to be in. This looks very interesting and I can’t wait to watch the whole film.

The writing in this movie is just outstanding
when a lot of big names agree to work together on a movie that isn't a money-cow franchise blockbuster or isn't exclusively filmed in Las Vegas, you can expect the script and production to be really good quality

just watched it, really great movie that is worth rewatching, to understand and appreciate more ! I love the premise of it, in my opinion Robert Denero has killed in this role, I got chills when he gave the speech, not to disvalue the rest of the movie, because it has an amazing story and performances, and as a Swiftie, I loved seeing Mama Swift playing a role that suited her.
I live in a timeline where Batman, Harley Quinn, General Zod, Marty, and Shrek become mystery solvers...
