- I'm Frances Hopson. I'm a transmission engineer at Burns & McDonnell. I work in the transmission and distribution industry designing substations for the power network, and my favorite part of the job is the problem-solving. I enjoy the challenge of identifying a potential issue in a design and then finding ways to solve it. I think one of the best ways to do this is in a multidisciplinary group discussion, and then we can discuss the different ways the different interfaces interact and impact each other. And I often find the most interesting discussions come out of those meetings.
