  • I just made this rice bowl. I didn't have most of the ingredients here. So I ended up using the ones I had in the fridge like cabbage, carrots, celery and even potatoes and added spring onions for the greens. I didn't have gochujang either. I used red chilli sauce instead. I had leftover rice with me, so i didn't have to cook it. I tweaked the recipe (hope you don't mind) by using ingredients available in an Indian household and added the sauce (yum, yum) at the end of the cook. My father, who usually doesn't comment on the food unless particularly asked to, voluntarily asked me, "what is this? It tastes so good". So, thank you. My family loved your recipe.❤

  • I tried this and it was absolutely delicious. I didn't miss meat at all, because the mushrooms are so meaty. The seasoning sauce is wonderful. I will definitely make this more often. It's important though to watch your pot while you cook, the rice is at the bottom and will easily burn if you are not careful. Thanks for posting this!

Sauteed a little garlic and onion in it first, stirred in rice and water and assembled as per video. 5 minutes on high pressure steam , 10 minutes to cool off (leave vent closed). Open vent and lid and stir...DONE AND DELICIOUS!! Never would have imagined this combo of ingredients would taste sooo good..thank you for the recipe!!!!

Layered it in my rice cooker, with a drizzle of sesame oil over all. Top-dressed the completed dish in my favorite hand-thrown preheated bowl (I'm a potter) and added a tin of anchovies with the egg. It turned out amazingly well. I'm glad I had gone to Hmart this week on my only outing! Stay safe everyone.

You could really cook this and just pause the vid as needed. It's great!!! I want to learn more and more!!! I miss Korean food. I used to attend a Korean Church's English service here in Central Florida and after church they always shared lunch. It was so awesome and I loved the food. I miss it so much 😭.

    • Thank you for your interest in my recipes! You don't have to jot down the recipe while watching the video because every video has the written recipe on my website. I always put the link to recipe in the description box of my videos. Good luck with your Korean cooking!

  • Maangchi ... I've never really cooked before but almost a month ago when I moved into an apartment, I finally decided I wanted and needed to make a lot more home cooked meals. I personally love Korean food and haven't found any nice ones in Dubai, so I came across your web page. I've made like 5 of your meals and it's been so awesome (kimbap, pajeon, honey butter fried chicken, japchae, etc.). I've never received compliments on cooking, but your videos are so fun and easy to follow along people are complimenting me! I am just now making this dish again and love how healthy it is :) Thank you so much for enhancing our lives - kamsamhabnidad! Everyone - Fighting!
