Pencil drawing time lapse - 'In My Silence' by Jono Dry
A time lapse from the studio.
'In My Silence' is a surreal, photorealistic pencil drawing. It took eight weeks to complete.
This drawing was such a pleasure to work on; it seemed to flow so easily. We are told to constantly push ourselves, that discomfort is good, that it promotes growth. While this is true, it also creates the idea that when we are comfortable, we become stagnant. This drawing reminded me that it’s okay to seek comfort, to enjoy the process, and to return to the familiar.

The real mystery is how Jono still has such good posture
Y.A.P the Red I was honestly and very literally thinking the exact same thing. As a former massage therapist I’m very concerned about his lumbar/thoracic spine😂😅
Exactly, I actually need answers.
Please tell us...
Probably exercises, stretches and sits properly when not drawing
ir could be sport
The "multiple you" working on the canvas edit never gets old. love your work. :D
Must help get things done when there's several of you...
This guy be like I'm gonna make a photo today
He actually takes his own photos and then uses them as a reference for his drawings. He is a photographer and an artist.

Theres nothing more enjoyable than seeing an artist being passionate with what they do
They said I could become anything, so I became a printer.
Kyle Steenkamp you made me actually laugh 😂
Kyle Steenkamp check out DP Art Drawing channel!!!!!!!!!!
ahahah exact!!
They said I can become Anything so I became my abstract artist And that is my Dream until the end of time.
A printer don’t got nothin on him
This guy seriously deserves more recognition for the stuff he does, honestly incredible
Lol I know exactly where u got you're pfp from
How a human can do this by hand is unbelievable! It's so perfect that it make it look like a print.
I’ve been drawing for 61 yrs but you absolutely shock me with your art!
Youre by far "ThE BEST" artist ive ever seen on KZhead.
@Sweetpea 😂😂 Its because The Topic is Called "Pencil Drawing Time Lapse". Hes not teaching is he? Hes showing the world what hes good at. His own twist to Art using different pencils, shadings and his own technique which makes it even more UNIQUE.
@Sweetpea how often do you find tutorial videos by pop musicians.
@Sweetpea and he does make tutorial videos.
1 day u will say that for me, believe me...

The result of his incredibly fascination is truly a work of art.
It's such a visual ASMR, i feel so relaxed while watching it.
Jonno Dry is so underrated. Respect man
How come you are so underated when you spend most of your time doing one big project. Your drawing style is the most realistical.
I'm not even exaggerating. You ARE the best artist in the world

There is nothing more satisfying than getting your hands dirty while doing something you love. Love your artwork from the Philippines 🇵🇭
How is Jono not like the most famous person on the damn planet?!?! I am blown away and in such awe.
Love everything you create and the whole process. It helps me calm down and heal. Somehow, it speaks without words. In my silence I hear yours. 🙏
Reading this comment stopped me in my tracks. Those last few words, "In my silence I hear yours "... You write beautifully, thank you for sharing with me.
@Ian Dog I used to be. You reckon I still can be? Thank you. 🙏
I could do nothing but enjoy and appreciate every stroke of pencil.
Simply put you are the reason a started drawing. You saved my life. Thank God.
The artist who deserves millions of subs
PERFECT 💯 YOUR ART IS PRICELESS ❤️❤️
Although I’m not a huge fan of Surrealism, the work of this artist is truly extraordinary, the realism is beyond comprehension! I think he’s another Leonardo for sure 🇨🇦
This guy's understanding of textures, composition and shading is on god levels.
I wonder how one human being become this perfect on his artworks. ❤❤❤
I was born and tears were drawn, thank you for the impression.☺️
I'm a huge fan of your work. I discovered you when I got into charcoal and graphite pieces. I work on a lot of pieces and your pieces are such an inspiration to continue with this medium. Thank You for sharing your talent with the rest of the world.
This the greatest artist I've ever seen.
I can’t even believe that this is a drawing!
"This drawing reminded me that it’s okay to seek comfort, to enjoy the process, and to return to the familiar." I believe I would like to use this as my mantra and my muse for a short bit if I may. To your credit of course.
Beyond anything I even thought possible with just a pencil
Those persons whom love art in general know how pleasure is to dedicate time to create and see the final art ended. Congrats Jono you got one more fa. Hugs from Brazil.
Its addictive isnt it? To be able to time travel while sitting still. Getting lost in another world. Another dymention. Sitting down at 6am and dont look up until 9pm. Forgetting to eat, forgetting that the rest of the world exists around you. This is the power and peace of an artist. It's why I love to draw and paint. Watching you was beautiful.
I’m moved in a way I can’t exactly put into words. Watching this felt like falling in love and healing at the same time. Thank you for sharing this with the world. It definitely came into my life right when I needed it.
I'm crying right now 😢 It's so beautiful
In my silence...My thought flourish. Love it.
"it’s okay to seek comfort" - Right! Art should be fun and satisfying. I get so discourage because the struggle is real. It's exhausting to try to create a "good" piece of art but stumble all the way through. You, my friend inspire me! Thanks
Dudes actually amazing, he has given me inspiration to dive into hyperreal surrealism. A complete inspiration😇😄
I usually listen to music while I work, but there's just something so relaxing about the way a pencil scratches a surface. The rainstorm in the background made this video all the better audibly too. great work!
Patience+Dedication+Hardwork+ Passion= Jono sir♥️
DISCIPLINE and COMMITMENT, wow, you demonstrate how wonderfully well it pays off. I respect your sticktoittiveness!
The best artist i ve ever seen in youtube. I can watch your whole video without skipping a single second and one thing i dont like about this video is it ends.
thank you for your videos, I've just started watching them.. I'm blown away by your talent and feel very inspired to be more adventurous with my own work. You are a very unique artist.
now see, that is stunningly beautiful. Surrealism at its best.
This guy makes some really sophisticated videos.
Big fan from india
Thanks jono for liking my comment☺️
i at a loss of words to explain how incredible this is! literally out of words!
This man is the GOAT
I find these videos so relaxing.
Seeing one of your videos for the first time made me fall in love on how you make your magnificent pieces of art. I am an aspiring artist and I get to learn new things from your videos. Glad KZhead recommenced your channel. ❤️

I just can say «AMAZING».
I really thought that was a real black and white photo until I read the title. U r amazing. Keep up the great work.
My art teacher showed us this today and it just now appears on my feed lolol
Reminds me of the song “Me in 20 Years” by Moses Sumney. Awestruck.
One of his best songs too 👌🏾
An absolute masterpiece.
Jono, I bet you've had spiritual awakenings to know silence like that.
Love you and love your work ❤️
Just about to start my sketching today but needed a bit of inspiration. Luckily this just came up. Love your work! This video could've been 3x as long and I'd still love every second.
I really love that you use natural sunlight to see the paper instead of artificial light. Idk it's just more soothing and soft to the eye but at the same time can show as much detail
It amazes me how artists can visualize what they wanna draw and contruct it so perfectly i could never do that at all
What an amazing piece. Keep it brother, you truly have a gift that gives inspiration...
Just started binging your videos, and I love that your style of editing is as artistic as the drawings themselves. Well done sir.
This is so so fascinating .
even if I had the skills and patience, I wouldn't be able to come up with these amazing concepts. this man is amazing. truly mind-blowing work every single time.
"Bro how do you draw so GOOOOOD?" *"i don't know man I just see art differently"* - _Any true artist's explanation_
So damn beautiful, Perfection!
Whoa! This is a real masterpiece! BRAVO!!! 👍👍👍👏👏👏😊👏
But can we just appreciate his cinematography though?!
For a second there, I thought, “ oh, he has someone to help him” 😂 Then.....there were 3 all dressed the same and it clicked 😂 I’m so dumb!
Looks absolutely amazing! It's really inspirational to see you this stuff really gets me to try harder and that maybe someday I'll get to this point too. I love your work
i felt this one. i live in silence.
The patience he possessed was also incredible, I wish I have this extreme level of patience when it comes to drawing. This was truly a masterpiece! 😻
I remember the first video I watched was the one of the eye. I was mind blowed and determined to get as close as possible to realism as you do. When I see your drawings, it keeps me motivated. You have big talent and the video is beautifully made. Just as the drawings! Thank you for making those :D
I am in love with your works man😭😭😭❤❤❤ OMG ! Can u teach me just for a month 😢 I want to stay watching u drawing even for a day without saying a word😢❤ it's one of my dream😭❤
There was two master pieces, one is the video, second is the drawing, both were absolutely stunning.
Wow just wow
I wish i was this talented... Godspeed dude, you just earned yourself a sub...
Liked before watching the video☺️
Same here
How on Earth is that even possible?... what a talent
I’ve been watching this video multiple times and i even downloaded it, so i could watch it offline in youtube.. Thanks for inspiring all of us Jono!
Printer: Jono: I’m going to end this man’s whole career
Woah! With uploading videos frequently like this you will hit 100 000 subs in a matter of months if not weeks! Keep it up!
Non Conoscevo Questo Grande Artista....devo dire che Trovo Spettacolare, Emozionante, Fuori da Ogni Clichè le sue Opere...Bravissimo!!!
Best time laps ever
Quick question: where do you get this amazing ideas to draw??
@@VikusEvolutionToBetter Everyone has a head mate. Its the TALENT behind it that matters.
@@Transform679 the talent does not exist. Everything is a hard work. 3 months ago i was drawing stickmans now I got to the national level of a drawing contest because of drawing every single day, watching youtube tutorials and thanks to the help of my teacher...
Hog River Coc Well done! Congratulations 👍
@@hogrivercoc7949 comgrats man but talent is part of it! Some people will never be able to draw very well even with hard work and dedication. However i do think both of those things are crucial to becoming a better artist
I know, right? This guy is creating ideas that are just heartbreaking, they're so meaningful, and meanwhile a sea of other people are just drawing the millionth Joker, Game of Thrones character, Heisenberg, closeup of an eye, and woman's face with liquid pouring on it.
he was clean-shaven when he started the drawing
Even editing is gold!
There is only one word I can think of AMAZING! His mind into detail in light and dark is just AMAZING! Thank you, thank you for sharing. What patience!
Hey 2 questions. But first: You cannot believe how i impressed i am, as i see you the first time drawing :) 1. How long do you need for this amazing drawing? 2. Could you please make a Video where you draw a single hand?
Question 1 answer: He's mentioned that it took him 8 weeks to finish. Not sure how many hours he spent though.
@@jasondsouza3095 thanks :)

Amazing piece man and amazing editing I just wanna say thank you for being a inspiration and doing what you love and sharing it with all of us you motivate me to work harder on drawing I’m not to your level yet but I believe I’m close I’ll keep working hard 🤟🏻
Im so glad to hear this can help motivate you! it means a lot. Keep practicing, and enjoy the process.
I have the same drawing style as you and I hope I can draw as good as you, I even wetted my paper before seeing your channel. Of course ur much older than me (I’m 11) but if I could post on KZhead I wish you could see it😞. The moral of the story is you’ve inspired me to keep going and try my best. I usually take a YEAR for 2 pictures nonstop. I love drawing though and hope I can succeed with my art. You are truly an inspiration for beginners! Love your channel
Masterful! Omg. The hours and hours to create this. Beyond words!
Dang what patience he has! I'd never be able to do that all day, I'd get an hour or two in and say "yup, I'm bored. Let's do something else"
