I've always been fascinated by the wonderful, sonorous sound this horn makes. I think I've researched it as far as possible, but I still have one question; what genius thought up the idea of having the horn sound with the pulsing cadence and the "dash-dot-dot-daaaaash"?? For some reason, that makes the horn FAR more scary and intimidating than if he leaned on it like we do in real life. Almost like there was some hidden meaning.

So true, the sound 'department' for this film worked some genius in this film with the horn(s). I think the music was some kind of stock composition as it's used in a few films and if so would be down to this film's unit, and I'm guessing of the team: John Stacy 'sound editor', and also listed as 'sound effects editor' in many other films).

Yep, nowadays PG movies are pretty much family-oriented.
Such nostalgia. My dad loved this movie and it scared the crap out of me as a kid. The devil is in that car!
Its so good and i love the scenery throughout the movie. All the utah canyons and stuff, so beautiful.
The part that scared the crap out of me was went it went through the house.
THE CAR WAS EVIL. i love this old gem. Oldie but GOODIE. Have this on DVD and VHS. One of my all time favorites.
@@alexsaucedo8032 Currently available on Netflix, too.
@@aniboo72 RIGHT on. Cool. . Thank you. Good to know. I love this movie
This is like "Duel" meets "Christine".
This is like, your brain meets your ass.
@@111highgh 🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂

I saw this movie on Netflix just 3 nights ago! Great horror flick!
This thing was on Netflix?
I was Lucky to Find this Classic Cult Movie on DvD...Still A Good Thriller Terror Film....Love that HORN!!😏🤗😏
Love the growl of it coming up the tunnel
Hahahaha I liked that part near the end, the car goes "fblft" from the muffler when the guy splats hahahahhaaha
i have to admit when i saw this when it 1st came out in 77 i had to keep quiet in the theater from laughing out loud at scenes like this of course i have a twisted sense of humor!!
GOTTA LOVE THE 70'S!
That hilarious horn!
Yes
As a kid seeing this in the 70s,I was scared and fascinated. 🖤
my Mom saw this movie on Netflix yesterday and so did I!
I love it when the guy does an endo off the bridge.
There's always that single shoe.
This was on Me-TV this past Saturday night.
stunning scenery
so there were self driving cars with dashcams in 1977! amazing! wait how did the car fill itself with gas?
I actually built the 1977 Lincoln continental shaved top door handles ect just like the movie with open headers neighbors hate it scares the shit outa them from the horn i made to be as authentic to movie as i can its a beast Literally
Jude Quesada you still have it?
Could you post videos of it? I would love to see it driving and the interior when you drive it
Too bad melody thomas never did a sex or nude scene.unfair😞
I love it...how did you pull off the horn part!? AWESOMENESS.
@@angelopollock5227 Yeah Angelo, I don't think a lot of people know that the girl cyclist was Nikki from the Young & the Restless. It took me a few minutes to realize it, I caught it when the credits came on at the end of the movie.
The movie that started it all, happy motoring!
This should be a warning to all who advocate for "sharing the road"
Awesome movie & scene.
This is a true classic,,, same as Joan ,, saw this when i was just about 9 !! ,, scared the you know what out of me,,,, its the car horn !!!!,, sounded like it was laughing .
I'm pretty sure it was.
That car rocks
That was the entrance of Zion national park.... an awesome place.
That freakin HORN dam! now if I heard that even without seeing the car I'd be crappin In me drawers while runnin
This is a cult classic like Duel
Her entire bike is seen going over the side with both wheels but in the aftermath close up one wheel is left spinning on the road for dramatic effect. Plus a shoe
I Like the car horn. I need one of those in my cadillac. Commands authority and scares you shitless.
It means death in morse
So true, the sound 'department' for this film worked some genius in this film with the horn(s). I think the music was some kind of stock composition as it's used in a few films and if so would be down to this film's unit, and I'm guessing of the team: John Stacy 'sound editor', and also listed as 'sound effects editor' in many other films).
3:14 they literally made a fart noise into the microphone XD
LMAO yes they did
That horn was huntering
Genuinely perhaps the scariest part of this movie.
That movie creeps me out every time they show it on TV.
I just realized the female bike rider is Melody Thomas Scott (Nikki) on Y&R.
Scary
Perfect
Scary and perfect excellent combination
Hilarious
"Mom, can we have Cars?" Mom: "No, we have Cars at home." Cars at home:
One of the best car movies i watched before
Love this movie hope they make a remake not like that the car road to reavege
Never the f fails to creep me out mannnnn... this scene is just sickkkk
BABABABABABA BAAAAAAAAAAAA
This movie is like Jaws, but instead of a shark, it’s a car.
Apparently that car can see in the dark, because I don't think that tunnel had any lights in it? At the end of this scene they were showing where the girl was killed, and there's blood on the stone wall.
I found this on the firestick for me and my 8 yo granddaughter the other day.... She was scared and yelling at that car the whole time, but we sure had a great time...
Scarred her for life, just like some of the others above LOL Bet their parents thought little kids enjoyed the movie too when they watched it together LOL
These were the training methods used by the russians for the bicycle world championships 1977... Too slow? Siberia or death 😁
That car would be perfect for protests
2:48 - Nikki Newman (The Young & the Restless-Melody Thomas Scott) gets hit by a car.
3:04 You scuffed my front bumper!!
One of the cyclists is melody Thomas Scott from young and the restless
I knew I'd seen her before. thanks!
Which one?
@@syphilisdiller7777, the young man. his parents really wanted a girl, so they called him Melody!
i love that scene
3:15 sound like the car farted😂
Haha
This is exactly what I came here for.
It's a soul eater that's why it farts
I like cars.
I love the movie 😍 to
Trailer: What Evil Force Drives The Car Me: I don't know, Could Be The Devil Himself
Very cool
Right off the bat I recognized this as the highway running thru Zions National Park in Utah. Cool. But never heard of this movie.
Great movie, and its finally on Netflix guys!!
When two cyclists are locking the entire lane
listed
_This scene really works, in spite of the wonky physics_
Like how the kid on the bike moving straight forward gets bumped from behind by a car moving straight forward and instead of wiping out in front of it or even falling backwards onto its hood, he (for whatever reason) goes up and over the side of the bridge? Yeah that made no sense
Oh me God . Crap I’m old. I remember this when I was a kid lol
adoro quella tromba!!!!
That is my kind of car!!!!!
The hijinks that car got up to on its cross country caper are hilarious. Cleansing the road for drivers everywhere. Should have gotten a medal instead of a stick of TNT up the tailpipe.
That car is my kind of car
Zion National Park
This is a classic horror movie
