Wow... I remember when I use to cycle back on the 90s. All my gear was improvised. A shorts, tee shirt, two plastic water bottles. One with tap water the other with coconut water, and three bananas, My cycle goggles was a cheap pair of shades. My shoes were comfortably cheap, like $30.00. Only my bike was built up with parts from others. I even made my own stencil with the word, " Specialize", that's my favorite brand back in the day. Couldn't afford it, the real brand name bike. 😪...but it got me all over my country of trinidad on different solo rides. Oh, never got a flat. Although I rode with two spears and two spoons from the kitchen. Mom never noticed that two of her spoons 🥄 weren't there... Oh, and no helmet. Just a cycle cap made of cloth.
