2008 has to be one of the best and strongest years, sooo many good songs.
Ironically, I think that the great songs in 2008, like Armenia, Ukraine, Turkey and Greece were some of the greatest ever, meanwhile the poorest songs, like France, Spain, Ireland was some of the biggest load of trash Eurovision has ever seen.

Maybe because Ukraine, Greece, and Armenia all sent the fast-paced songs that year and then the voting among the 3 songs got dispersed with their similarities. Russia was behind Greece and Armenia in SF1, and Ukraine was the winner of SF2

This should've been Ukraine's second winner. I still don't understand why it didn't win; a catchy song, a powerful and inventive performance, a pretty girl AND it was from Eastern Europe. So how come, then, only Portugal of all countries gave it 12 points, and it only eventually made its unceremonious way into second place?

Looks like Ukraine got their revenge from 2008 in 2016. Both entries are fantastic, and the choreography is similar to that of Russia this year
Russia 2016 is a mix of Ukraine 2008, Belarus 2007 and Sweden 2015
Much of the production teams of Ukraine 2008 and Russia 2016 are the same. No wonder they look and sound similar. And both Ani and Sergey can dance (or climb :)) and sing at the same time. But, for some reason, I do not find Sergey charismatic at all... On the contrary, Ani is full of charisma.

the jury voted for Australia just because it's Australia. Any other country with the same song and the same singer would not take the first place by the jury. And if Sergey Lazarev represented Russia the same as Sweden or Australia preucil would end up with over 700 points

Curious if the 50/50 voting rules occurred in 08, who would be the outright winner. Especially considering the juries have favored the Ukraine over Russia in every year (apart from 2015 when the Ukraine did not take part) since the rules change in 09.
There might even be a chance that Greece or Armenia would have won. The 3 diva's (Armenia, Greece, Ukraine) would have been more popular to the juries then Dima.
I think Serbia would of done really well with the juries too, warranting them to get a top 3/4 finish overall.

Ukraine would have won. Ani has an amazing voice, Dima doesn't even know how to sing and speak proper English. That's why I love the juries.

Plus the sounds in the beginning and ending of the songs go silent except audience. I think it is because not to affect DVD sells. I don't know if they are real HD though.
