They are both so pretty. They are always hungry, they would eat the paper too if they could. Bless their sweet little heart , they are so loveable. ❤
The knots arise because the string is elastic, and when stretched and released the weight on the end (ie, the toy) occasionally loops around the string in rebound. When the string is pulled taut again, the loop(s) then tighten into knots.

Maple is really getting to be bossy. She knows Pico is all mouth but won’t really hurt her so she’s trying to tell him she’s the boss. He loves her but he’s saying he’s older an more mature. I don’t think Maple is going to let him intimidate her. Much fun these two beauties are very entertaining.
I've been told that in a cat colony the leader is a Queen so I presume that Maple may be taking the dominant role.
Was she in heat before she was spayed? I think he is smelling that on her. Maybe use a warm soaped washcloth and wash her tail and rear area. It could also be some blood from the surgery that is in her fur. Love the cats!

Did he do the same thing before she was spayed (that is sniffing her and then growl)? She might be smelling different now and he is not sure why. The rest is probably due to hierachial issues.
He wants to become friends, but on his terms. It will happen just give it time. ❤
