A 13-year-old boy Vasyutka lives with his parents in the taiga near the Yenisei River. Vasyutka loves nature, he likes to walk in the forest, go for nuts and hunt. One day Vasyutka goes to the forest to get pine nuts. In the forest he hunts for a grouse bird. Having caught the bird, Vasyutka realizes that he is lost. He builds a fire, roasts the bird, has dinner and goes to bed. In the morning Vasyutka heads north to get out of the taiga as soon as possible. On his way he sees a lake with many white fish. Finally, Vasyutka comes to the Yenisei River. He hopes that he will be found faster on the river bank. Vasyutka sees a steamship and signals to the passengers. But the ship sails away. Finally, on the 5th day of his adventure Vasyutka is saved: a ship sails by and notices the boy. Vasyutka is brought home to his parents. After arriving home, Vasyutka tells his father about the beautiful lake. Two days later Vasyutka, his father and other fishermen sail in search of the lake and find it. A permanent fishery opens on the lake. Vasyutka's father and his crew work here. The new lake is called Vasyutka Lake - in honor of Vasyutka. The lake is even marked on the district map.
