BMW S54 Cooling System Overhaul DIY (2001-2006 BMW E46 M3 Water Pump & Radiator Replacement)
►Replacing your E46 M3's cooling system components is critical to keeping your engine in good health. The E46 M3 water pump, thermostat, and radiator comprise the core of the cooling system components, and all share a general replacement interval of around 80-100,00miles. Replacing the E46 M3 thermostat, radiator, and water pump is a reasonably involved job but nothing you can't handle at home with a few hand tools. It's also a great time to replace any OE parts with upgraded aftermarket components to bolster the S54 engine's cooling system for intense, spirited driving.
Follow along as Mike Hidalgo, FCP Euro's Professional DIY'er, takes you through an E46 M3 water pump, thermostat, and radiator replacement.

Mike is great at doing these videos. Humble but confident. Also very respectful, "...all you good people". Very helpful. Thanks!
More of these vids on E46 M3 please. Very helpful, very well done. Thank you mike and the entire FCP Euro team.
Keep these e46 m3 videos coming! I have an appointment at the shop in 2 days to do just this since I couldn’t find a solid video to give me confidence on doing this work. Il be ordering the kit and doing it myself to solve my cold start issue hopefully. SAVE LABOR THATS PAPER$$

FCPEuro is my favorite, not only do they offer unbelieveable lifetime warranty, they also make high production quality DIY videos. I've converted at least a dozen of my friends to loyal FCPEuro customers.
Very helpful as I'm replacing the water pump and thermostat!
This is a very great video !!!! you saved us alot of headache and time for us DIY'ers very well-explained video !! THANK YOU !!
Great video Mike. Incredibly helpful, and very detailed and complete. Only thing I would note is that the belt route is incorrect: the belt should pass under the top idler (flat side of belt against idler rather than ribbed side). I also used your front end control arms and tie rods video, which was awesome as well!
Well made video 👍🏽
Duuuuude!! It's a 3 day weekend.. Heck!! The Country is celebrating.. And here you are, making a VIDEO!!! Sheesh!!! 🤣🤣🤣 Well Done, Mike. As there was 1001 parts you had to R & R!!! 😂
Have to keep my man JR's M3 nice and cool!!!
@@fcpeuro Okay fine.. You got a point, there. 😂
We need a s54 rod bearings replacement video 🙏
We've got you covered, stay tuned!
Excellent video Mike. I suggest you add the coolant overflow hose the the kit. I found my connector to the upper radiator hose (16:01 in the video) was easily torn when disassembling. FCP Euro part number 208788,

Will the job be exactly the same on an 07 E86 Z4M
It looks like the drive belt was installed wrong
From all the reviews on the csf radiator it really does not do a better job over the bmw radiator it’s actually inferior in cooling
Hey bro I don’t think you said “go ahead” enough times
What if I am not one of those "good people?"
