A young boy known as the Avatar must master the four elemental powers to save a world at war - and fight a ruthless enemy bent on stopping him.
Do tears bend?
I think so😂
Netflix, PLEASE be the only company that also posts the auditions separately from the actors’ reactions 🙏
Good question
So much
yes.
'Wait Am I gonna have to shave it?'😂
So cute! He IS Aang! They couldn't have cast anyone better 😭
Another nakama simping over avatar😅
😂😂😂😂
@@beastphil6324oh trust me, even though the next one is kinda trash, she cute af.
Their reaction to their part n show is priceless
“oh wait am i gonna have to shave it?” he’s so aang coded 😭
Don't see how that's aang coded🤡
@@miguel_7515The sudden gear shift from being emotional to the innocence of his question. It's very S1 Aang.
Then you have to rewatch the animated show @@miguel_7515
@@miguel_7515 youre new to ATLA i believe
@@miguel_7515 it’s not the words it’s the expression. when he suddenly realizes something and his face drops very expressively👍
Even with hair Gordon absolutely looked like Aang. No wonder he was picked
For real!
Casting isn’t 100% looks tho
@@user-insight well, he had the Aang vibe/spirit going as well. Much more than the movie
Of course not@@user-insight because the original show is a animation.
I think he's gonna be excited that when they film season 3, he gets to keep his hair
Dallas crying over Gordon's reaction after hearing that he will be Aang was so genuine... Dallas is really like Gordon's big brother
Their offscreen friendship is so heartwarming. I can tell their relationship, bonds and love for one another is real. I am talking about everyone in that video. Dallas Gordon, Dallas Ian, Kiawentiio and the boys. This is just so wholesome. And yes I admit I binge watched all their interviews.
I didn't see Dallas cry but Ian definitely cried, he was probably reliving the emotions of that day. :') 💓
i'm cryingggggg, ian's reaction was pure gold and it's so precious to see how this meant so much to the whole cast
I want to hug him and give him tissues. It's so precious to see how much that meant to them, how much it means.
Man I'm so happy for Ian, all the shit he had to go through because of the "fans" and the wild accusations. I'm glad they didn't let the pressure win, he is Sokka, and he is part Native American, and I couldn't be happier for him.
Huh, what happened?
@@Najibah. I think they're accusing him of lying about his ancestry to get the part. But this proves that he didn't because he didn't even know he was auditioning for Sokka lmao
I think people just want to protect the indigenous representation. But it's also a bad thing to accuse someone of not being indigenous.
at the end of the day you just can't gatekeep representation to that degree. like we should absolutely do all we can to cast accurately and diversely, but we also have to keep in mind that strictly excluding whole swathes of people will also do the injustice of excluding real potential for the role.
@@maxscene7 i think the casting call was looking for ppl of tht particular background. Dont think the actual role being Sokka was relevant but I also dont think he deserves the hate for his ancestry as im sure the casting crew and director chose him cus they felt he was the best fit.
Kiawentiio gave us katara energy in her audition
Now they need to let her have that energy on screen cause it’s obvious she can do it.
Ikr, everyone in the cast are perfect for the role, it's just the scriptwriting and the directing that's lacking.
Yes but also, out of the whole main cast she kinda sucked the most lol. Not blaming her, she’s still young, but those line deliveries felt kinda awkward, rushed at times & she didn’t sell it
@@satan4518Then it is the job of the director to make sure to help her get the right takes, or show her what sort of energy is needed - that’s part of the responsibility of directing young actors
@@satan4518 Yeah she needed some acting workshop for real. She looks awkward and stiff in that audition even in the actual show. The Azula actress can at least act a little better than her.
This audition proves that the writing was the issue with Katara's stiffness, not Kiawentiio's ability to act. It puts me a bit at ease, hope they improve it for the next 2 seasons!
Agreed! I think this cast is great, but the writing and directing held them back or didn't give them the opportunity to shine. I've enjoyed watching these interviews much more than watching the live-action show. Off-screen, they are Team Avatar!
For real. After seeing the audition tapes I can see why they all got casted, but I don't know why they gave them and especially Kiawentiio such a poor script. She nailed that audition like that was Katara. What we got in the show wasn't Katara
I hope that now they're more cemented in their characters, they give them more leeway to make them their own, because honestly, just watching interviews of them, before even watching the season, they feel so much like their characters.
She’s probably still a newer actor so I don’t fault her, but she was still pretty stiff in these clips lol. Awkward line delivery & no real tone control/ was too quiet/ didn’t sell it
@@satan4518agreed. I think a huge bulk of the fault lies in the directing and writing as well, but I still found her acting unconvincing in this audition clip as well
"You don't know how happy I am right now" Owh my babyyyy 😭 I'm crying
Bro this cast is everything istg they're literally their characters
Relax
@@trade5374 Relax on what bro
Yes. From the point of thier personalities and basic looks. But firstly, the stupid creators made them into emotionless dummies (except Suko). Secondly, while they were ok on thier auditions, they proved to be very bad actors.
Yall r haters bruh why r u watching this then if it's affecting you that much
@@TheMrgoodboy2 Lies Aang is perfect Sokka actually sounds like Sokka its almost like he is the original voice actor for the cartoon 💀 Zuko perfect. Kotarra is the only meh one but shes good looking so whatever.

it's insane how perfect the casting was but the script did them dirty, they feel more like the characters in real life than they do in the show
maybe things will change now that there is a new showrunner
i really really hope they see the criticism and take it as that (and not hate) and improve!! they have everything to make it good.
Why did i cry while watching this? I get really emotional even seeing other people cry like Ian did.
same, i dont even usually cry but seeing them so grateful for their role made me tear up😭😭
Same
Same I feel like a proud mom
Yup and it's just a 3min video😭
Gordon and Ian made me cry and laugh! They were very Aang-Sokka coded. Also I knew Kiawentiio and Dallas wouldn't let this reaction video pass without throwing water and fire on each other. 😂
lol gordon is so funny " wait am i gonna have to shave it?" from sad to funny moments instantly..
"Dad's stoic over there, I'm dying" - Aww Ian, bless him! And Gordon too. All the cast are so lovable. Also, I admit, I usually don't really pay much attention to Ian in the other videos, but this one made me want to give him a hug
How could you NOT pay attention to Ian? He’s literally the life of the party him and dallas are? Like… He’s veryyy HALARIOUS ❤
I love that they finally showed the audition tapes. 😭
the way they all get emotional seeing each other (especially ian) emotional... wow i love this cast so much. absolutely cannot wait for seasons 2 and 3!
I'm very happy with the renewal...After all the exaggerated hate they suffered, sometimes for ridiculous reasons (such as body standards), among other things, the series was and is a huge success and has been renewed not just for the second, but for the third season. Congratulations, Netflix... Its a win win ❤❤❤
Some reasons for the hate were ridiculous, but some were legitimate concerns because it will affect how the rest of the show evolves. Now that they're planning to do both seasons 2 & season 3, hopefully they'll fix the issues they had with the first season.
I hope they get people to watch the reviews from channels, like Channel Awesome and Honest Trailers to address issues with line delivery and scripts. I think the bending could be enhanced a lot, too, so that with firebending for example, when the Comet returns, fire should be much larger than in even the battle between Sozin vs Gyatso. I hope they make the clothing look lived in and also have the results of bending so that after being attacked by say, a fireball like the earthbenders who were transporting Iroh, clothes is fittingly sooty if not partially on flames.
Okay, the body standards were perfectly reasonable, why is mae 120~ pounds in the original, and 200~ pounds in the renewal, it is terrible decision making choosing someone so unfit for the role.
I didnt know Gordon could get any cuter than before.😭
Ian is so emotional for real. I cant wait to meet Toph!
That's why he always says he is water
The reaction on Gordon's Face when he realized HAHAHAH
Sometimes, you don't know how far things can go
The sudden flip to "Oh wait, am I gonna have to shave it?" from crying to straight-face was damn Aang coded, man. They did an amazing job with casting for this, wow!
honestly seeing them cry hurts because the accusations made against them were so wild and you can see how much this means to them 😭😭 so glad theat they got casted and I couldnt be more happy for them!! excited to see them in season 2 and 3
Wait accusations? Of what?
@@kaylajaimistockwell3744people accused sokka actor of faking being native to take the role of sokka, now we find out that he didn’t even know he was being cast as him
Fr. 😢 There are more issues and bashing about ATLA live action itself and the cast's, people really nit-picked anything they see that doesn't fit what they want and what bad is they're really rude and harsh, which really baffled me because the ones who are taking the "fall" are the actors and actresses, they did their best but they'll put down cause that's how people view them as a flop.
@@than.imeiii I'm not gonna lie I thought it was pretty ridiculous. Maybe I just don't know what it feels like to be underrepresented (though I am Chinese-Filipino) but I don't really care much about his ethnicity. I would have preferred him over someone else who had the right heritage but didn't portray Sokka the same way he does. I mean - come on! He looks, sounds, and acts like him! At this point does it really matter? :"(
When gordon says" wait am i gonna shave it" i was laughing because hes so adorable and his smile is so cute just look at so smoll hes our aang
I feel bad for hating on Ian back then, bro is so genuine and I loved him as Sokka

Katara’s Actor is so precious
She wasn't that good in the audition and season 1 though... She is young and hopefully she'll get better in seasons 2 and 3!

Perfect cast!!! Perfect Aang! Waiting for Season 2 and 3
Watching Gordon's audition really showed his Aang personality. I wish they would be able to bring that back in S2.
"Wait am I gonna have to shave it" Most Aang reaction ever 🤣🤣🤣

I started crying when Gordon cried ahhh
I love these origin stories.. Aang and Sokka got me the most
This made me tear up but when Gordon found out he was gonna shave his hair 😂 that expression!
Bruuuh aang was soooo smooool in the video... he looks like my 6 y.o niece.. also his high-pitced voice. Hahaha so cute. Oh my god! but now look at him, he grows faster and his voice becoming more deep
yeah they better get to shooting the film soon before he outgrows Aang. LOL.
The show was made 2 years ago or something. He's growing too fast.
@@cutecats532Lol can’t stop that. His parents must be on the tall side. I grew quick too. Still in middle school.
I’m obsessed with them already. Can’t wait for season 2 & 3 . THANK YOU to all the whole cast, staff, crews and creators of Avatar. It makes my heart full. ❤😊
Gordon is the perfect Aang❤
2:36 Staff: Do you like your hair? Gordon: Yeah... Oh wait am I gonna have to shave it?!? This got me laughin' 🤣🤣
The part where Gordon was crying and then gasped followed my "Oh wait am I gonna have to shave it?" when someone asked him about his hair made me cackle XD
I can’t imagine the amount of hush-hush that went behind the audition scripts, to the point where they didn’t officially announce it was ATLA until after they offered the role to them! Like- that’s huge. My understanding is actors usually get the full disclosure during the Callbacks round… so the fact that this wasn’t told to them until after the Final audition (where the actor reviews/signs the contract that has them agreeing to play this character in future series even before they’re allowed to audition with the execs)… I’m sure by that point, the kids had an inkling of how big a deal this show was going to be. 😊 Lots of congrats to Casting for finding kids/teens who are so genuine and honest with their acting- you can tell they really really wanted to be in this and have loved ATLA forever. :)
To be honest, I was really sceptical about the live action and it took me a few episodes to really enjoy it but I think we, as a fandom, are way too harsh on these amazing actors who love the anime as much as we do and put their hearts into these characters! The live action might not be exactly the same as the anime but I can take a step back and appreciate the show as it's own thing. I especially enjoyed watching all these interviews with the cast and their great chemistry and their love for the original show. I'm genuinely looking forward to seeing more of them and I'm really excited for season 2&3! ❤
Same I was very nitpicky about the whole thing on my first watch. And while I wished some scenes played out differently in a way more faithful to the animated show I realize that's totally not the actors' fault - it was really a directorial choice which at the end of the day, if the animated show didn't exist I don't think we would have been this harsh. I love the actors and they have a lot going for them. I'm so excited to see them in Book 2 because I heard that they didn't know each other that well yet when they filmed Book 1. Imagine how great their dynamic would be once they get to film the future seasons!
Gordon is just so genuinely happy! So pure! Yes Netflix, tears do bend 🥲
Omg this was so cute ! Especially Gordon’s reaction to getting the part 😭
Dallas patting Gordon's back as he tries to hold his tear ❤❤❤
I love Gordan and Dallas, literally the best big brother/little brother duo❤️ so adorable
Gordon's reaction about his hair is the cutest 😬🤏😂
I finished this show in 10hrs, It’s so good and entertaining. And am I’m the only one who likes to watch the actor’s react to their movies? It’s funny to see😂❤
They deserve it. I know the Series was far from perfect, but they truly did their best! And I dont think a better cast could have been possible.
We don't usually get to see that part of the process. Thank you for sharing it ! 😊
Gordon Cormier is really cute!!!
You guys are geniuses!!!! & you found the destined characters! Each one is perfect!
I just realized that this show is pretty amazing for being made during covid. I know it has its rough spots but I enjoyed it overall. I'm so happy for this cast, can't wait for the next seasons to come out!
I am tearbending 😭 I fell in love with the cast especially our Avatar Aang. He is growing in our own eyes and I am so happy for the whole cast. This is their biggest break and they all deserve this. You got my full support on season 2 and 3
dallas and Ian being opposites like zuko and sokka lolol
NOOO WHY DOES THIS HAVE ME CRYING THIS IS SO WHOLESOME 😭😭😭😭
Haters gonna hate but they are the PERFECT cast for ATLA ❤️😭 Now we need bootcamp videos
I just know Season 2 will be able to turn literally everyone's doubts around. They are clearly their character's. Just look how young they looked in their audition videos. They just need time to truly show themselves on the screen.
There's got to be a longer version of this for each one of them. Clips from the start of audition, callbacks, and to being chosen. Pls 🙏🏼 It's so cute and heartwarming
PROTECT THEM AT ALL COSTS!!! 😭😭😭
ian's crying had me bawling 😭
I wish these guys more success. At the end of the day, they’re all just dreamers making their dreams come true.
God bless you all Gordon, Dallas, Ian, kiawentiio you are the people chosen for this film, good luck in your respective careers😇✝️👍
My babies are crying 🥺
Great Personality Characters On Point! The One who Chose them deserves a RAISE! 😱
Gordon's reaction to finding out he was cast as Aang has me tearbending
Man i like these actors sm. They are all so sympathetic it‘s crazy
There’s a reason why they have great chemistry, they’re all good friends in real life. They genuinely care and look after each other. It was evident in their interviews when someone talks, they’re all ears.
So this proved that they all can act really well… it’s the script that’s the issue ❤
Katara just needs to be directed differently - the actress has so much potential!! Bring back the fiery Katara with a personality, compassion, bossinness, caring and even jealous nature
I agree with you
They're all sooo beautiful 😢
Twinkle toes, I'm next.
This was like the best video! I hope they keep this connection and stay grounded. What a beautiful cast!
Congratulations guys! You made it. 😄👏👏 Looking forward for season 2 and 3. 😊
The show is incredible, the actors are phenomenal and the powerful message of the comic comes through in a renewed and powerful way. Thank you for such a great production.

I loved this far more than I thought I would. Thank you for sharing this, and having the cast react to their auditions! :D Their reactions, for both learning what role it was that they were auditioning for (and thus obtained) and their reactions to seeing their audtions, were priceless. :3
I just love this cast. They're all so genuine and excited to be doing this. And it makes me want to root for their success even more.
This guy is just too cute for aang good resemblance ❤
Bro i cried while watching this, ever since i was a little kid i've always dreamt of acting in movies, and seeing the cast so happy to find out they got the parts was actually so heartwarming and it makes me want to continue trying so I too can someday feel this kind of happiness :)
It’s really refreshing seeing the cast’s point of view and the emotional journey they went through. Didn’t expect from myself to cry along but I guess I’m a tear bender now
Something about Ian’s audition tape makes it feel like a youtube comedy skit
Gordon is so adorable when he was just staring in his audition tape 😭🙏 also kiawentiio's audition tape was so good
I'm absolutely thrilled to hear that seasons 2 and 3 are on the way! The first season was already amazing, and knowing that there's more to come fills me with excitement. I can't wait to continue this incredible journey with the cast and crew of 'Avatar: The Last Airbender' on Netflix. Bring on the adventure! 🌊🔥🌪💨
These great kids, great actors... they deserve better than to be let down by adults' poor decisions.
Really! I don't expect this video made me cry. I love these casts. I'm a fan of this ATLA series and until now I'm watching it. Great job guys.
Best casting indeed. They bond like team avatar in the cartoon. But strangely, I don't really see them bonding enough as their characters in the live action series, well, maybe because everything happens way too fast. Directors & writers must work harder to build this bonding and chemistry not only in real life, but also in the show. Let them be themselves in the show! They are already perfect.
I hope Netflix takes all the constructive criticisms and gives us a better season 2&3 because this new ATLA live adaptation has so much potential to be great, season 1 is already good but TBH there is a lot to be improved (acting, story-telling, etc.) and I believe they can do it.
lol, Gordon realising he has to shave his head 😂😂
