Naaa the the Stadium atmosphere is very overrated there. There are several stadiums in Germany with a much better atmosphere compared to Dortmund. I believe the main issue in Dortmund is that more and more people are just coming for the event and not for supporting their team. I don’t know exactly when it started with the decreasing stadium atmosphere but 10 years ago the atmosphere was there incredible. However due to some reasons the atmosphere is getting worse. However compared to Premier League Teams the atmosphere is there still incredible but not compared to German teams

@@adrianklocker5596 Because they're playing in the Champion's League since 13 years straight (nearly) besides season 15/16 cause they got 7th in the season 14/15 but they've been playing in the Champion's League for nearly 13 years straight, so ofc you do get an increase of people that just wanna be there for the atmosphere and pretty much alot of "Success Fans" its simply natural. if Frankfurt, Wolfsburg, Leverkusen, Gladbach would be playing in the Champions League evry year, you'd see the atmosphere decreasing cause of it aswell, doesnt mean that Dortmund's Stadium isn't still fucking great, but people forget that with success also comes wannabe fans and wannabe fans aren't really the ones that make the atmosphere, they're just there to witness it. comparing a club like Frankfurt to Dortmund is just insanely dumb when it comes to Atmosphere, cause they still mostly only got their Fans in the Stadium and no Random "Success Fans" which Dortmund has increasingly gotten overtime due to ofc as the name already says, comes due to their Success. Beating clubs like PSG, Real Madrid etc. name another club besides Bayern Munich who has done that in Germany the past 13 years.

I was visiting Germany last month and was lucky to go to the Schalke vs Union Berlin game and even though Schalke ended up losing that game like 6-1 it was the best atmosphere I've been to for a game before. Unreal how many major teams are so close to each other in that part of Germany. A magical place for any football fan!
But Schalke and Union are not really close to eachother 🤔
@Chad Jehebej Sorry for any confusion I wasn't saying they were. Union was playing at Schalke when I went but there are like 6 teams around Schalke including Leverkusen, Dortmund, Bochum, Cologne, Dusseldorf and a couple more I'm forgetting.

German football world for you! 🎉 I am a proud fan of Hannover 96 since I was 6 years old and 22 years later in 2. Division in Germany the derby against Braunschweig is still absolutely crazy and played in a full stadium with 50.000 people. It’s second division guys 😅 Germany best fan culture.

As a Schalke Fan, im happy with a 1:0 for dortmund, because we just got promoted an play against one of the best teams in the league, that’s absolutely fine
The team put it a great shift. It took some individual brilliance on our part to break them down. Keep defending with that effort and I think Schalke will take some serious scalps this season.
Of course we did but still you cant be happy losing against them. 1 point would have been deserved all things considered.

I hope nothing bad happened after the match. That's how the true fans or "ultras" should react. Bringing atmosphere to the game and support their club 90mins straight and after the match is over both groups go their seperate ways
Sadly not how Dortmund ultras behave. They like to use their pyros as weapons, and have no respect for children as they force children to give away their shirts. Disgusting people.
I flew back from my vacation in Bulgaria just to watch the game. My wife wasn't really impressed but I didn't care at all! I flew out at four o'clock on Saturday morning and went back on vacation to Bulgaria at nine o'clock on Sunday. We won, so it was worth it! our whole life our whole pride.

The english football has to many games and is to expensive. But the people in england really still love this game. I always appreciate every game and the atmosphere around in the championship , league one or lower. The mood around the stadium, in the pubs.... I don't like to compare atmospheres, for me it's more the people who live the club, wherever they are.

As an Englishman who has been living in Germany for the past decades I can only say: you really nailed it, mate. Great video, you got everything right, really enjoyed watching. Is Dortmund versus Schalke the biggest match over here? Yep, maybe. However, another one to watch is Cologne against Mönchengladbach. That is very fierce too, you really want to go there one day. There are also a couple of very intense rivalries in the eastern part of Germany which tend to get quite violent - so, as I would like you to survive the matches you watch, maybe you want to skip those 😀😀. Another feisty one is Stuttgart against Karlsruhe - although this doesn't happen too often because Karlsruhe normally plays a league lower. After that match policemen actually know why they deserve their salary - if it's a quiet day there will only be around 552 arrests😁. And another extremely fierce game is Frankfurt against Offenbach. But like West Ham facing Millwall it just happens once in a blue moon due to the fact that Offenbach are normally in third or fourth tier - or after a very favourable cup draw. Anyway, maybe I will see you at one of those games. Cheers, and keep up the great work.

@@user-annxyz Yep, correct, Werder Bremen vs Hamburger SV, that's definitely one to watch too. Went to see the match quite a few years ago when both teams were regulars in the Bundesliga. Stadium was rocking, as the atmosphere at football games over here in Germany is generally really great. And the tickets are also affordable, so it leaves you some spare money for a Bratwurst and a beer, or two, or three...😃. Cheers

I'd suggest you to go see the Western German Derby of 1. FC Köln and Borussia Mönchengladbach, it's one of the most intense Derbys in Germany, next to Union/Hertha, Dortmund/Schalke

Maybe some officials of the PL and the british government should watch some of Thogden's vlogs - He enjoys some of the best atomspheres in Europe... Milan Derby, Ruhrpott Derby and so many more. There has to be changes in the UK. It's not like, there are no young lads who would support their english clubs with passion like the other fans in Europe - there are reasons why the atmosphere in England is simply shit - maybe Leeds and Palace can providie similiar buzzing experiences but that's about it. I've been to England many times and i always returned to Germany with a bit of sadness in my heart, how boring PL atmospheres have become and how good it could be with some changes. omg i love seeing the two sets of fans in complete control of their own sections and having a great time! i wish we had that in american professional sports.
Don't know if somebody else mentioned it already but the energy of the guy with the fixed knee walking with the fans is definitely worth one.
