The NBA Draft Lottery has officially been decided and the San Antonio Spurs are the big winner, as they will select Victor Wembanyama with the 1st overall pick. After that though, things get a little bit tricky. I do my best to predict the lottery picks, giving my thoughts on each team and their situation as they get ready for the 2023 NBA Draft.

Hornets better select Scoot Henderson if they keep their #2 pick.
Maybe I’m a hornets fan I think they just need lob threats for lamelo and someone to run the floor while he’s off the floor I feel like either one would be good best case scenario they draft scoot and pickup someone like Aaron Gordon
Agreed. I do think trading down to like 4 with Houston makes a lot of sense if they want to go that direction. I just have very little faith in that front office to take BPA when Miller is presumed to be a better "fit"
Gordon isn't a FA until 2026. Mark Williams is someone I'm still pretty high on though.

@@jamespoulter1074 They could trade down and take Whitmore. He’s honestly very similar to Bridges, and can jump through the roof. They might blow an opportunity passing up on Scoot though.

Was on BR with someone telling me that Charlotte wouldn’t take scoot at 2 because of lamelo. Made 0 sense in my head. They either take scoot or trade back. Those are the only 2 options

I am hoping Hendricks is still available for the Pacers at 7.
The more I look at his game, the better fit it looks like tho I would want us to have a chance to get Brandon Miller but since it's the PACERS, I doubt it happens.

I'm happy that a team like the spurs got 1st pick, I think a bigger emphasis should be put on talent development. If you've had several top 10 picks and don't achieve anything with them I think it should lower your chances of getting a top pick.
Wemby in Charlotte or Houston would've been gross to me I agree. Talent development is huge and the Spurs historically have been very good at that. In a way though, Victor probably is great anywhere, so it would've been interesting to see SA get someone like Amen Thompson, who is awesome, but flawed, and see how that would've turned out.
This is a good mock draft. I just wonder if the mavs want front court help instead of a guard if they plan keeping Kyrie.
Appreciate it! And yeah that makes sense. I've seen/heard some Lively II talk at 10 for Dallas, which makes a lot of sense fit wise, but I still think that's a reach, and unless someone like Ausar, Hendricks, or Jarace falls then it's kind of a weird spot to be in if you're looking for a wing in that lottery tier.

I believe the Raptors should draft Jordan Hawkins due to the fact their biggest weakness is 3 point shooting and Hawkins can help fix that problem
Yep I was heavily considering putting him at 13. I definitely wouldn't be mad about that pick.
Keyonte George will end up being a top 5 player in this draft
I think there's a world where that happens, but with his archetype he has to be SO good at shotmaking that it's a tough sell considering the guys in front of him do so many things well.
Dame wants to stay with POR and the time table does not work with Dame if they pick Scoot. POR could make a trade with scoot or trade down to get better deal to bring other name player. Scoot is great but Lillard is franchise player with 3-4 year left in his tank
Portland may use their #3 pick in a trade for a player like Pascal Siakam or Mikal Bridges. They want to win now with Lillard.

No they will trade with the rockets for the 4th and 20th pick and use that to get a package from Toronto
No way Miller goes over scoot but if scoot falls to 3 wolves better trade kat for that pick get scoot to pair with ant
I wouldn't put it past Charlotte to take Miller at 2. Scoot and Ant would be fun.

@@BobbyDouglasBasketball it seems that for most of the players outside the top 3 it matters more where they end up. Teams like OKC and Utah are much better at developing.

I think this is definitely the year to be aggressive. 2024 draft doesn't look as strong.
Rockets will trade Kevin porter jr and the 4th pick to Portland for the 3rd pick….. rockets get scoot Henderson… Trail Blazers add KPJ and amen Thompson around Damian lillard

Why not do the whole first round it isn't a mock draft it's less than half of one. Why is this the norm???
Typically teams in the later part of the first round are still in the playoffs or looking to trade the pick. I like doing full 1st mocks closer to the Draft when we have a better understanding of what the playoff teams want to prioritize.
@@BobbyDouglasBasketball I get that but there will likely be trades in the lottery as well. there is every year. So that logic isn't the most valid. For example Portland is likely to trade out to keep Dame happy.....
@@JoystickVic18 True. But they also said that last year when Portland had 7 and they ended up taking Sharpe. I think it's tough to part with 3 this year when the class is so good.

Funnily enough I actually think Scoot is the closest thing to Edwards in this class. Whitmore reminds me of a more skilled Isaac Okoro, but even that is a flawed comparison. Don't think we've ever seen an intersection of pure power and agility like Whitmore before.
