    • This is false. It was someone else that wrote their lines. Em said he wanted it to feel natural so it was better if he didn't know what they were gonna say. In an interview Anthony (papa doc) said Em told him that he researched him just before their battle. So because he didn't know what Em was gonna say, his reaction in the movie was his actual reaction because Em roasted him based on his real life.

  • Some facts about 8 Mile - was the number 1 movie in the box office upon release, nominated for 32 awards, won an academy award and a Grammy, soundtrack went quadruple platinum and was also number 1 upon debut, selling 700k copies first week. Lose yourself was number 1 for 12 weeks and was Eminem's first number 1 single, and was the first hip hop song to win an academy award. It was one of only three rap songs from the 21st century to be included on Rolling Stone's list of the 500 Greatest Songs of All Time, being the highest ranked at number 166 and is certified diamond. There's literally like hundreds of essays written about Lose Yourself. It was #1 23 weeks straight which was the record and might still be the record for a rap song. First rap song nominated for song of the year at the Grammys. Got nominated for a golden globe. List goes on and on but what happened with 8 Mile in general is rare as fuck. A superstar musician starring in the number 3 highest grossing movie of the year and producing a quad platinum album with one of the greatest pieces of music in your genre in the movie.

  • Anthony Mackie said in an interview that Em approached him and asked if he was okay with changing that last battle, I guess they were supposed to have a back and forth, but Em changed it and actually did research on Anthony's personal life and the last battle against him a lot was taken from Mackie's real life experiences lmao

    • I was gonna add the comment I'm posting below but I'm late and you beat me to it! 🤣 Em actually asked Anthony Mackie if he could put some real life shit in his diss to Papa Doc. Anthony said yes. Eminem delivered. 😂 "Anthony Mackie says, “There was this one day, we were sitting on the set and Eminem comes over and he’s like ‘what’s up man, I was reading a script and there is no reason for me not to like you, you are cool dude, I like you’ and then I said ‘I like you too.’ And then he was like ‘Cool, So you don’t mind if I add some stuff in the script about you? I was like ‘About me or the character?’. He’s like ‘no, no just some character stuff’. I’m like yeah no problem. So before the entire 8 Mile final battle, he googles me and learns about me and all that stuff he basically makes fun of me as Papa Doc. [Laughs] And then I’m like ‘That’s a little personal Mr. Marshall… I grew up in a nice house, my parents were nice to me, why are you making fun of me [Everyone laughs]. He literally walked over and said this gonna be dope.” When it came time to film the final rap fight, Mackie understood Eminem meant to disgrace him on stage by using true material from his life. “So he goes, and his entire battle, the final rap, he Googles me and learns about me and all this stuff,” Mackie said. “And he basically makes fun of me, as Papa Doc. And I’m like, ‘That’s a little too personal there, Mr. Marshall.’” 😂😂😂

Inspirational. It wasnt about winning the battle. He was out to prove to himself that he can make it ( his craft) and well if he proved it to others along the way, cool. • I have the original movie on DVD. Back in the day we had to go to a store to buy the shit. It was a limited edition at the time so it has all kinds of crazy extra shit that ain't nobody seen unless they own it. This whole scene was so crazy like if you watch it in slow or pause a lot, you'll see people in the crowd you know as celebrities now. A lot of the crowd was extras but also in the underground rap scene back then. So they all did music in one way shape or form. There were actual battles done as auditions to find the best of the best to be featured. There's also a ton of cameos throughout the movie. This making me wanna go thru that extra shit and enjoy it for the millionth time. ♥️♥️♥️♥️

They call Eminem the "Lyrical Goat", he is damn good and, from what I've learned over the yrs watching him, he really embarrasses his own self therefore taking that power away from others. Very smart. Thanks for sharing.

  • One of my best mates when we were much younger, agreed to consume about a half litre of bourbon if one of our other mates sunk a shot they were going for in a game of pool. The other friend miraculously sunk the shot and he consumed that half litre in about 10 seconds. We tried to object but our concerns were futile. A few minutes after he'd done what he'd done, several of us carried him to bed. I made the point of turning him well onto his side with his knee stabilising him in the position which he'd been laid. At about 8am I woke up and immediately thought of him and walked three flights of stairs up to his room to find that he HAD, in fact, throw up everything he'd had in his stomach while he was sleeping. I was able to wake him. This story still makes me think about the importance of what these guys say early on. Look out for your mates. X
