ABOUT DANNY
-----------------------
Thanks for stopping by. I created this website as a resource just for you to support you on your golfing journey as I know how tricky learning this game can be…to say the least!
I personally found learning the game too long and difficult in the early days. I read all the books, watched all the videos but my game was not improving. Then after studying various forms of neuro science, motor learning, psychology and personal development in less than two years I went from struggling golfer to the final stage of the Open Championship.
On KZhead and my personal website (www.dannymaude.com) I will bring you the most up to date training, training that is getting tangible results for my clients right now. I don’t know where you are in your golfing journey, you could be just starting out or maybe your body isn’t as flexible as it once was or you’ve got ambitions to slash your handicap. Wherever you are I’ve created a place here you can learn, share your ideas, ask questions and get all the support you need to enjoy this great game.
Be prepared though. If it's a quick fix you are after Im not your man. Here I will give you step-by-step advice that you can take straight to the practice ground and apply to the course but it will require you to get stuck in, screw up…a lot, practice some more and then watch those scores tumble
I’ve had the pleasure of coaching thousands of students all around the world and if you are up for the challenge and are ready to get in the game…LETS GO TO WORK!

Because you’ve taken the basic elements of the swing and described them in a very understandable way that readily translates onto the practice range and course. Moreover, these latest lessons are congruent with all of your previous instructions. So helpful. Thank you and blessings.

  • Hi Danny My post is nothing to do with today’s video but a follow up to one a few weeks ago with your Leo and the towel drill leading to longer drives. Decided to try it out during my usual Wednesday game concentrating on high hands on the backswing and then whipping it down to the ball. I noticed three things: I was hitting it further, consistently outdriving my playing partners and on one occasion by 30 yards. One of my partners, who plays off 4, wondered out loud if I’d been bodybuilding! On one hole my drive measured 255 yards. Now, given the cold air temps and the very soft fairways, that’s not bad for someone nearing 69 and stands at 5’4”. Think what I could do in summer temps with the fairways firm. My target must be 280+? I was hitting the ball STRAIGHT! I believe with my previous ‘safe’ drives, I was getting ahead of the club maybe, leaving the clubhead behind me and therefore the face might be a bit open leading to a fade, a BIG fade or…..the gorse bushes!! I was actually hitting the ball down the left of the fairway this week probably because at address I was closing the clubface slightly to conteract the fade. So, the ball wasn’t going everywhere! The brain takes over and adjusts. I was just letting it go! The ball flight was much higher, with the ball in the air for longer. Again, if I’m not getting ahead of the club I feel I must be hitting up on the ball much more leading to a better ball flight?? I have read posts from your subscribers who have got so excited at doing this or that on the course after following your video tips. I can now understand how they feel! It is SO exhilarating! So, if any of your subscribers managed to read to the end of this post, please just give it a go, you’ll be amazed. Thanks Danny. Grahame

    • @@randywolf4731 I’m not going to say this has changed my game just yet. But I never take a driver to the range. I’ve just hit several straight drives in excess of 190 yards!! This is a guy who hits a 6 iron off the tee, so I consider this to be a step in the right direction. Just need to build on it now 👍

  • Combined this logic with Ernest Jones classic 1937 Golf Book "Swing the Clubhead". Went to the range at my club here in Scottsdale AZ and stroked 80 balls for the first time using this drill. Only 2 hard slices, maybe 8 fades and the rest straight or nice draw using irons, fairways and driver. I wish I had seen a video like this many years ago. Can build on this and slowly widen my stance with control and consistency. Smooth takeaway, staying on plane, keeping the feet closer eliminates body movements (any sways) .... makes a big difference.

  • I tried this routine for the first time today, having not played golf for some months due to illness. It really worked a treat with me consistently hitting driver as far as I normally do but without the glitches of me dipping down into the ball that is consistently my bad shot. • This is in the top 5 best KZhead golf tips for me, had to leave a comment. I found I would add way too much loft and spin to my driver that I was getting the same 240-50 carry as my 3 wood. I tried to super narrow stance, smooth swing approach and found it goes same distance but has a better lower flight and remarkably consistent in going straighter with a tighter dispersion. While I work on my driver - don't care how it looks on the course, this is 100% going to be how I will be driving it off the tee for the forseeable this coming season., I just can't get over how good this tip is - thank you Danny

  • I had forgotten how good this drill is. What I would add is for those practising to hit 5 balls normally and stick a marker down at the average of these FIRST. Then work progressively from slow and easy to progressively faster and progressively wider. Watching the ball get closer to the marker with shorter width and slower swings helps to reinforce that bad things in the swing are getting overcome. Nothing like having a target and then kicking its butt whilst learning - then hitting it sweeter and longer and straighter in progressive way. Thanks Danny, brilliant as usual!

  • Love these lessons and they definitely help. Something I get very confused with is the effortless not even trying swings going 250 yards. Been playing golf about 20 years and I'd say I've hit it over 250 less than 100 times and always in summer with wind helping etc. They just look like you're not even trying and yet it's obviously somehow generating speed most of us can't get near. Even with your legs together so presuming no real ground forces at work there. I'd be more than happy with 250 yards drives consistently and in play, I think for most amateur tees / golf courses it's more than enough. Basically I guess I'm jealous of those effortless 250 yard drives where you don't even have to try 😂

Not only does it help your swing plane but because your feet are so close together you really can’t over swing or else you would fall over. Great tip. • Great video as usual Dan, I stuck my Driver away as fed up spraying it everywhere ! Had lesson in the week, I needed to get my arms straighter and softer grip, I had other way ‘round ! My coach said the straighter arms improves arc and gets posture taller. Swing was also too flat so got to get backswing higher and more vertical - check point arms swing under chin and but of club points at ball to target line halfway back. Over range tomorrow, and will implement what Lee, my coach has told me and build in your Driver arc / contact tips. All the best, Ken 😁👍

  • Have made so many swing changes in the past couple months and have went from a slice to a low hook with driver and 3w only. Going to try this on the range tomorrow, hoping it can help me eliminate all the wasted movement and overcompensating that got me to where I am now. Thanks Danny!

  • I appreciate most of your tips and drills. This one in particular is my favorite. One thing about this video, and it may be the camera angle, but the ball position between your feet appears to be exactly the same between driver and irons. I would like to see some sort of more definitive lines on the mat to see that ball position on the little toe for driver and middle of feet on irons.

I repeated this tip before every club swing and it really worked! I normally score around 90 to 95. Argh. Today. Shot a 84! Awesome. Finally a KZhead tip that actually works. Thanks!!!!

  • Excellent drill Danny! I wasn't able to get to the range before my weekly round but tried this out on the course: a couple of feet-together warmup swings, ball even with the left toe, and balanced swing. I hit the dead center of the clubface almost every time! Quick question: Should the ball position be outside the left toe for the full-width swing? It's a little hard to tell from the video. Thanks for the great content -- keep it coming!
