Great tips on weight management. When it comes to junk, if you don't have the Fallout 1st scrapbox, you can do what we did back in the day, also, and that is to take your junk to the tinker bench and bulk it... then put it in the stash.
Noob here just wanted to say thanks 🙏🏼 currently level 25 been grinding and this guide helped a lot
I’ve never really understood casual teams so have been avoiding them and doing my own thing, until now - and now I get it ! Thank you for the explanation, it’s made a huge difference to my gameplay 😁
#1 should be DO NOT scrap perk cards until you know enough about the game and how legendary perks work.
No it's siding with raiders
@@ActiveGreen227raiders have a ammo machine for gold
Yeah when I first started a long time ago I messed up and lost a lot of stuff, but I could open literally everything afterwards without hassle, it still wasn’t worth it.
I only scrap cards I absolutely know I'm not touching with a 95ft pole, I know nothing about legendary perks but I sure as hell know what I'm never using when I'm just going a simple headshot build (no vats cause I wanna get better at using snipers in games)
I just started lastnight and went to scrap a card but a pop up warned me so I figured id wait and then I come here and see this comment . Glad my rpg senses made me wait . Cheers
There is also the ammo smith perk cards
As a new player, DO NOT spend your scrip early. I spent probably 1000 scrip before level 50 just random rolling low level legendaries. Save all of your scrip until you are 50+, then use it for modules from the Rusty Pick to build your own perfect setup.
Especially armor. Maybe, around 30 or so, you can start adding _one-star_ mods to your armor, but don't go to three-stars and rerolling for perfection until you have your armor level topped out.
thats what i was doing and realized at level 50 i needed all that scrip i spent to buy modules to reroll my crafted legendary😢 the daily cap is real. I used to spend it like crazy trying to get a full set 😩
Beautiful presentation..,im level 1135
Bro.. He thanked the whole west coast.... lol. Just for showing that appreciation I subbed... Nice bro nice..
Use power armor frames to stash all of your " scrip " power armor pieces . a frame can hold 5 items total . it will weigh 10 pounds with those 5 pieces . if you just throw the random pieces in your stash , that's at least 50 pounds .
And you can name em so you know what's what
Not really a mistake, just something cool. Once you get the camera take pictures of your adventures, anytime you find a nice view, and in major interactions in the story; the loading screens will be all of your taken photos. I started halfway through the game and can see how i progressed and different builds i had. Its also cool having photos with main characters.
Deathclaw selfie time
The problem is there's a photo limit, so you'll reach a point where you have to be forced to delete really good photos. I'm not sure why that limit is in place or whether it's different on PC, I just think the limit should be storage based.. 🤷
@@keepitclean8791 Theres a limit on PC from my experience
One I would add is to not bother saving low level legendary items, unless you are actively using them...
Reminder too is that ammo drops are contextual. By that I mean is that whatever gun you use to kill an enemy, they tend to drop ammo for that gun you used. An example would be using using a Handmade rifle and getting 5.56 from enemies, plasma guns and getting plasma cells, or even cartridges for gauss rifles. I was clueless about this until I noticed I had over thousands of .308 ammo when the only gun I often used was the hunting rifle.
Yeah, didn't used to be that way - the enemies used to drop random ammo. It was really annoying to kill critters with my 10mm, the only gun I had back then, and have them drop me dozens of rounds of 5.56 or Missiles. So happy that changed.
Yeah, when starting out I mostly used a hunting rifle, and I was constantly throwing away ammo because it was stacking up so fast. This is probably a different story if you go commando or use pistols.
@@MarvMarvensen If you use a sniper rifle, you never need to manufacture ammo. I used plasma rifles in the beginning and after a while I had several thousand plasma cartridges. Never had to make ammo for the plasma rifle.
Yeah one thing ive started doing because i like to use the Big Guns is ive got 2 hunting rifles with 1 chambered in .308 and one .50. It makes it so easy to farm ammo because i can just go and snipe my way through a camp of raiders or scorched when im low.
Also if you get close to containers with a weapon that ammo will appear. I was low 55.6 and using a shotgun then I would switch to my rifle before I got close and would get 55.6 but if I already got close with another gun that ammo would appear.
Yup, I did the camp icon mistake too and only realized when I wasn't getting trick or treaters.
New player here and have never joined a team, i assumed that if i joined the team i would have to join the team members in what they are doing, thanks for the info 👍
Don't hoard legendary items thinking you will use them, especially 1 and 2 star, you won't and if you play regular you will know that you farm loads without really trying.
I sell them at that legendary machine for the currency, thats the right move right?
That's what I've been doing so i how that's the right answer@@germojo
@@jasminecomer9436 after 3 weeks i can confirm, it is the right move lol
@germojo thank you! I'm only 3 days into 76, my first ever fallout game. I want to get the drop on the best things to do in game
I know I can be critical at times, but I just want you to know, from one veteran to another: You make (in my opinion) the best videos covering Fallout 76 of anyone during the entire history of the game. I've followed a lot of Fallout 76 youtubers over the years (but we won't name names); from contentious click-baiters to informative and helpful youtubers, but your videos have always been fire. I may know all these tips, but having a place I trust that I can send new players to get information is a god-send. I always get excited when I can suggest your channel to someone new, because I know they're going to find a ton of useful information here. Thank you!
Thank you, I really appreciate that!!
@T0nik yes, whenever i meet a new player that needs help that i can't give, i tell them watch you, watch angry turtle and utilize the fallout wiki
*cough* BOS bird clickbait *cough*
What was your MOS? Happy Veterans day,💪🏼🇺🇲
Hey, thanks for your service! ...however, in this case, were talking about being veterans of Fallout 76, not military.
What a great video thz just started fore the first time
I kinda miss being a low level and experiencing this game for the first time, exploring new locations, completing quests, making friends, finding crazy legendary weapons, building different camps around the map, it was so fun
I recently came to Xbox from PS and I had to start all over from Lvl 700 with 1400 hours. I’m having so much fun! There’s so much content when you have all of it to do at know.
My first fallout tbh. Instantly became a fan and replaying the others. Finished 4 now I’m on 3 then new Vegas 👀.
I started fallout franchise from 4 but i'm now playing fallout 76 and... Wow, that's awesome. I have 37 lvl and a lot missions that i dont even started. Content in this game ja crazy, a lot of stuff to do
@@OllzOGloc I´m so jealous dude. I wish I could wipe Fallout from my mind and play it for the first time again.
Great guild but one thing I'd add is for the ammo crafting section, is to not forget the ammosmith perk card. it adds extra ammo you can craft on top of Super Duper and Ammo Factory. I can make thousands of rounds really quickly, easily, and cheap that way.
Yes ammosmith also.
Another point is that not everyone considers level 50, the point at which you can start adding perks like Super Duper, to be "beginning". Those particular tips aren't going to be that useful to someone who's just left the Vault, not even when the update comes and you can start at 20. Crafting ammo is still a big deal, though - not only does it save you caps, it gives you XP.
YOu don't even need to do that, just go into a daily ops with other players and farm ammo. Let the other players kill most of the enemies and you will end up with TONS of free ammo.
@@gametime2473 Depends on the enemies and your weapon. Plus there was a time where the ammo drop amount was broken and you would use more ammo than you would ever get. Additional, the mutation for daily ops could be horrendous for a few days.
@@TheCrystonian That is why I said to go into daily ops with other players and let the other players kill most of the enemies. I carry daily ops for low level players all the time. I should have mentioned that you don't get ammo for "core" based weapons (gatling laser, gatling plasma) in daily ops but if you switch to one right before the last boss dies, you will get cores as a reward.
Love your camp, looks great!
Thank you!!
Super duper is great for making ammo . You can make thousands of rounds with less than 250 lead
Hopefully we get a stash increase. I heard they have no plans to increase are camp budgets but they are reducing how much items cost budget wise .
It'd be nice, but I wouldn't hold your breath. The stash limit is deliberately tight, as it's part of Bethesda's "make a problem in order to sell the solution" design philosophy. I imagine it's one of the main reasons a lot of people buy into fo1st.
1200 pounds is more than enough. You must not have played back when it was only 400 lol
I have 1st because it made sense to me. Depending on finances I may need to drop it. I'm not playing as much as I was. Getting bored with the grind honestly.
@@MrSirMang Oh god, don't remind me of those dark times... I played it back when you couldn't even repair weapons or armour without a repair kit that were practically non-existent except in the Atom Shop. It's the principle reason why I dropped the game for years, and even now won't give them any of my actual money.
@@peterclarke7240 The stash limit is tight because when it was higher, some stashes were holding so many data reference points (that's all your stuff is, pointers to data) that they were making the servers crash. Yes, more than you're seeing today - imagine no server lasting longer than maybe two hours at a time. That was part of how 76 got its poor rep at the beginning. They dropped it to 800 lbs at first, to reduce the number of pointers, then gradually increased it. So far, 1200 lbs seems to be about as high as they can go and still have more than like ten players on a server.
The ammo locker is great for all that heavy explosive ammo. FO 1st has save my butt a number of times
Don’t forget, if you have speed demon mutation, your movement speed is maxed already, so don’t waste perks such as squad manoeuvres.
The scrapping system that I got used to with fo4 went straight out the window here. Since when is lead in tin cans 😂
Never accounted for the mods weight.
I have never bought ammo lol looting builds it up fairly quick..
Boy! Now I realize how many mistakes I'm making. Thank you so much for the valuable advice!!
Can you stack the insperational perk cards? I.e having a 3 star on then having a 1 star added to the C skill as well?
That last one is one i figured out by accident 2 days ago. Also ive always had issue with this game coming back in bc my damage was underwhelming. Is 200 per shot with 450-600 on vats crit good on a vats build ? Currently using the fixer wirh armour pen, limb damage and minus vats cost. What weapon is a good replacement for more damage ?
I didn’t realize how good they made this game till last week and now I can’t stop playing. I played I beat 3 and new Vegas but I didn’t beat 4, I’ve fallen in love with this game I already got fallout 1st subscription, I got the game free on gamepass so why not
I’m here too see all the noobs
i just started today game is pretty fun i was playing new vegas and just figured i mine aswell give this a try aswell
Have fun! It's very different but if you have the FO itch, I'd say this is a great option.
Noob question: Aren't there junk items you're supposed to keep intact and not scrap, as they're needed for quests? I've seen some people writing they scrapped stuff they thought was junk, but later needed it...
interesting , thank you
Another tip for new players is to check the truck/suitcases/registers in hotspots. It's where you could get free stuff or even free plans that you haven't learned.
Okay, funny you mention always scrap your junk because I compulsively do that because I like the cleaner look of the base components. I had no idea the stash had a weight limit. Edit: Glad to know my adversion to the NPC merchants is justified. I feel like the caps don't come in fast enough to justify the literal most expendable thing to be so high. I think I bought some ammo ONCE and it was because I was desperate for that specific caliber
Very essential, thanks a lot -saves me (even as a Fallout Verteran -Since FO2) a lot of trouble!
If you level up high enough you won’t run into any mistakes. You can constantly reset your builds and easily farm caps from expeditions.
#1: Never EVER spend real money on microtransactions. It is always a costly mistake.
OH I LOVE the little cinematic of the character running up to the stash before the transition! That was so cute! :D These are wonderful tips! Edit to add: Something I'd add as an additional tip for resources is to ask for anything from a high level player! Chances are, especially for ammo, they can craft you anything you may need or drop anything from stores if they have extras! I remember some online friends crafting or dropping ammo for me when I was struggling/running low haha :)
If its your first time playin get fallout first and loot and break down every single thing u find and but it in ur junk box do daily ops as many times u can and stay around the group so u get the xp and loot from the kills and youll get over 1000 of wtv ammo your using then put all that in your ammo box game will be easier later one now that u got mats and ammo
New to the game, not even a month playing yet, new to the channel. I’ve found 2 others that I follow, but I’m definitely adding your channel to my go to for information. Ty for telling me about ammo, I never have the caps to buy it, so I just changed weapons to use with whatever ammo I’ve got tons of. Thank you for making videos for noobs like myself.
Thank you and no problem! Hope you are enjoying the game!!
If ammo is your issue, join daily ops with other stronger players. You will get lots of ammo in no time. Yes, you might die a lot, but there's no penalty (you don't lose junk or items), and just collect ammo. Sometimes, I tripple my ammo in one daily ops game.
@@KapMuxTV I’m so hesitant about doing daily ops. Not the dying, but since I’m clueless I don’t want to make any other players upset with me. I know, stupid, but I’m really intimidated sometimes by lvl bajillion players
@@ImFroggie899 Daily ops is quite difficult. Eg, I'm a bloodied player, so even if I'm at a very high level, I still die a lot of times. Also, high level players understand that new players are there to also gain experience so they won't really have issues with it. Just join and have fun. First time I played the game, I reached level 40 playing it like FO4, not joining any teams and literally played like solo. It was a very difficult game and I had no ammo most of the time and my gears suck. No caps as well. So, then, I stopped because I was grinding but it's like nothing's happening for me. Then, I saw videos like this giving me tips, and then, I played it differently. I was missing out on so much things, just because I didn't try them. So, just enjoy and watch these tips videos and you'll enjoy it more. :)
Always be sure you have ammo for all equipped guns just in case 1 breaks or you need to swap
Thankfully the contextual ammo change almost eliminates the need to buy ammo. Always do events, tons of loot/xp can be had.
Whats that? "Contextual ammo"?
@@NSD150 You shoot certain enemies with a weapon, you have a higher chance of getting ammo for that weapon. Weapons that use cores are like every 10 enemies looted gives you a core in my experience.
@@albusplaustrum06 Oooohh, that makes sense, thanks for letting me know
If you're free to play and new. Bee line for nuka collectron when you get your gold. With cola nut perk and grocers back pack mod nuka cola will carry you to end game for heals. You'll need way less Stims saving you A LOT of weight in stash and on person.
Plus you're basically getting paid to heal 👍
Wish we could get the private server rights with out having to get their subscription based situation, so ready for a new fallout singleplayer game, starfield was fun for about 2 months time however i miss my power armor fun.
What timing 😮 I recently started playing
Enjoy! ❤
Bags of dogwood fertilizer, industrial grade abraxo and floater gnasher pus sacks yield the highest amount of acid when scrapped. There is also a pile of chlorine bags in the barn where project beanstalk is located.
Thnx for the info that helps
Is there a way to unequip legendary perk cards? I want to pick a different card but I'm not able to. Hope I didn't mess up my character.
Question, why do most high level players have their radiation levels so high?
I recently bought Fallout 76, I’m glad I watched this video before playing the game
T0nik is like a Fallout guru where you'll find all the important information wether you need it or don't know you need it
That scrapping junk items was clutch, my stash was full and that saved me 300 lbs
Great video as always bud 💙🤘
So do we periodically get new perk cards after 50? Cause I scrapped a few not really thinking twice about it 😅
Cheers man, just coming back to the game on a different platform, so this was a good refresher
My husband loves playing this and i hate when he screams at the top of his lungs and says that there’s is not enough space in his stash box so thx for the advice i will definitely tell him to watch ur video 😊
You can have several characters on one account. I have one that just stays at Vault 76, and I'll give her the stuff I don't plan to use but don't want to get rid of. She never does anywhere so it doesn't matter how much she carries. Make sure you only trade stuff in a private world or it goes poof.
Im always running around by myself because there is barely anyone on and usually super high level. Im only lvl 33 and would like to find people to run around with
im fairly new to 76, sitting at a level 67 right now and no ones ever come to my camp and i've always wondered why.... i had my public map icon off. lol thank you for that tip!
I was thinking about making a new character just to see how the new player experience is ive I've been playing the same toon since the early access beta and just got back into the game starting the new year. so this video has helped me with some of these tips that I've either forgotten or just did not know.
Great vid!!! Thanks!!!
No problem!
Been playing since launch and I’m always learning new things
If I get the Fallout Atlantic City Deluxe Edition is the Fallout 76 game included all in one bundle ?
I actually picked up the Pitt deluxe edition last night and this helped out, Imma watch some other vids to get familiar
Noob question on the mods part. Doesn't removing mods from the legendary weapons destroy the mod tho? I remember FO4 you could actually remove them, and you can find loose mods, but when i tried to move an optic from 1 gun to the other i totally lost it :( which i know for late game isn't a big deal but i didn't have one of the optic materials to remake it.
Gonna be starting Fallout 76 tomorrow, got it downloading now and I’m taking notes from you, thank you!
No problem, I hope you enjoy it!!
One of the things that I always try to do when starting a new character is using the swimming perk, that thing always helped me out A LOT
I haven’t played this game in a couple years. When I stopped I had a “explosive” Gatling plasma. Two shot. Did they remove these guns????
If you’re new to the game and playing with friends that are higher levels (100+) make an explanation team and explore while they do quests. Discovering locations while you play in an exploration team will give you a tiny XP boost, like the stew from feed the people event. 😊
I came out of vault at lvl 20. It was recommended but good idea?
I played for the first time this week, I’m enjoying the events and main quests. Cool game
Same 🎉😊
New player here, thanks for share some of this information, I dont know nothing about the game Hope we can play in the future!
Remember when the stash limit was 400 lbs? After scraping junk, bulk it. When crafting ammo, equip the Ammosmith perk card to get even more ammo.
Doing a Daily Op or running Atlantic City once in a while, will keep you in more ammo than you can handle! It also keeps your Stim Pack stock p as well.
I am definitely not new to Fallout but i am new to Fallout '76. Thanks for the tips. I know it's everyones instincts to wander this wasteland and figure everything out on your own, but it's good to get these beginning tips and not give away to much story line and still let the game come to us.
I am a new player myself, thank you for making all these useful videos. This is an excellent game to chill with. The community rocks !
No problem, hope the videos are helpful!
Ammo is totally smashed as you get tons of it just by killing and if you turn right as you leave the vault you can pick upwards of 100 rounds just keep coming back with your fave weapon equipped.
I would add that as a newplayer if you want or need something? Ask a higher level player in your team for it. If they have it they will liekly just hand it over for free. I often hand over stimpacks, ammo, plans, fixers, junk, etc. And if i have. Y mic around ill ask what they want to use and nake several of that weapon for them. I only farm for legendaries in order to "perfect" my weapons
You forgot to tell people to put on the ammosmith perk when crafting ammo; there's 3 perks you use but you only showed 2.
I just started Fallout 76 yesterday, Thanks T0nik
Great guide t0nik! I hope new players have fun and enjoy the community :) welcome to 76. One of the nicest communities in any online game :D
First time player, I really appreciate your video. The game so far has done a poor job of just showing the basics of the game and as with most games now KZhead seems the way to go get answers.
New follower, and player here. Thanks for the video!!
Late game I make different builds for Cratfing weapons, crafting armor, and a basic base building and Chems crafting build. Just leave your weight reduction perks out of them so you can not accidentally fast travel to an event and be reliving the noob days.
I dropped my uplink somewhere and i cant find another one :(
Easily the best, MOST welcoming community a game could have!!! 👏👏👏👏
i'm full 1200/1200 and its all scraped things so i can't get anything more what can i craft in the early game to reduce the weight ?
Craft ammo. Once you you get a few, you will pick it up in the wilderness for free. I made 200 .45 bullets and never made another one, I just picked it up as I found it I now have 2,000 and stopped picking it up.
Great video and very informative. One tip for new players from me is to walk around the map and do not get addicted to fast travel -- there is SO MUCH in the game that can be missed if your character is just fast traveling everywhere. SO many fun little random encounters, easter eggs, and environmental story-telling. The probably-unknown-to-almost-everyone story is the sad tale of Rufus the dog.
Nice tips thanks. How can you change ADS FOV in this game? it will zoom too much when I aim with ADS!
i am still learning about the game even Though I've been playing it since the wastelanders update. your videos are always helpful no matter how long you've been playing the game.
As a new FO76 player this is really good advice. Thank you.
No problem!!
How do i remove my weapons mods??
Check all armor drops for "weapon weight reduction" effect. It is the best effect in the game for armor IMO. If you get all 5 pieces with it, you will save 90% weight on ALL your weapons which also includes grenades. This is the best weight saving option in the game by far. Just keep an eye out for armor pieces with that legendary effect (or any other weight saving perk) and ignore everything else. Do that and you will be able to carry far more than your stash box on you with no problem. Once you get high level you can work on refining your build but even then it isn't really necessary.
I have a question maybe you or the amazing community you have would be able to answer. Do you keep the scrapbox and ammo box after your fall out 1st has run out?
You can keep and use what's already stored on it, but you cannot deposit in any more (unless you pay for it again).
Another quick tip, Morgantown airport is a great place as a low level player to farm lots of weapons to sell (at the train station across the street) plenty of chems/stimpacks, and an easy mini event that can be done on your own. I even collect the junk there and sell it to the bot at the train station. If you want to sell your junk, just don’t scrap it. The moment you scrap it they are no longer ‘sellable objects’ just trash, bots won’t buy all your components only some, so don’t break it down if you want to sell.
959 hour and i didnt know about the mod weaights... thx man!
