I'm a nothern brazilian (read: live in the amazon rainforest), and jaguars are since childhood my favorite animals. I might be young (19 yo) but I've lived enough to witness a drastic decline of their population due to greed and ignorance. I want to become a biologist so I can raise awareness to a misunderstood key element of our ecossystem's dynamics and to help perpetuate their legacy so, one day, other kids can say jaguars are also their favorite animal.
I admire that immensely! I hope that you succeed in your dreams, and don't give up. The world will be a better place for your efforts in conservation and public education. You're awesome!

When you snatch a croc on land and then drag it back into the water... I've seen a few videos of Jags (apex predator on land) going into the water to get a croc (apex in the water), and that says it all. @@TheDcraft Well no that isn't true anymore since Hippos have been living wild in South America since the late 70s - early 80s; so they must've encountered each other before, but it isn't like Jaguars could pose much of a threat to Hippos, they are very powerful animals.
Borslaw actually and this is fairly recently. There is a population of Hippos in South America. Imported by the the legend himself Pablo Escobar. It’s a fairly ice sized population.
