Going back to the fact for Altaria, you said, probably by accident, that Swalot evolves into Altaria. Which is in fact not true as Swablu is the one to evolve into Altaria
Fomantis and Lurantis are not bug type ON PURPOSE. They took the idea of bugs commonly mimicking plants in the real world and flipped it so it would be a plant Pokémon mimicking a bug. This is why they’re called Fomantis (faux-mantis) and Lurantis (lure-mantis)
It gets a bit deeper than that! While it's obviously modeled after orchid mantises, there are _orchid flowers that mimic bugs!_ such as the Golden Beard Orchid
@@guest-1564that's actually really cool
that's really inconsistent though. there's tons of pokemon based on similar concepts that still have both types
When you got to beldum, I was like "Aww this video is almost over" Then I realized I was 30
What
the joke stems from Beldum being close to the end of the National Pokédex as of Generation III (374/386)
@@DuskLegendhe forgot how many Pokemon there are these days
If you're almost 30, you'd understand >.
Yeah I'm 27 and it's always 493 for me though
The reason Chamander only learned Metal Claw in FRLG only was to give it an easier time against Brock.
Which is kinda lame honestly, because ember did fine as long as you didn't get unlucky crits from Onix, which were fixed in frlg anyway.

1:51:34 “despite Orbeetle having beetle in its name, it’s really based off of a ladybug.” Aren’t ladybugs a type of beetle?
Yes they are! Technically speaking Not just generally speaking As in they are in coleoptera and not just a thing we call a beetle
52:40 These aren't just "some flowers" they're called flores de cempasúchil (I think they're called Mary golds in English?) and they have a significant role in the celebration of Día de Muertos, as they are used as the path for the souls of your diseased relative (this comment is not me trying to be rude, but as a Mexican that lives in Mexico I felt the need to explain this :D)
Thank you! I always wondered why the flowers. I thought they were just decorative.
Yes marigolds are the English name!
One thing to remember is Pokémon are measured the same way animals are! That is, their primary measurement is typically whichever dimension is most relevant to their overall size. A common irl example is how wild cats are measured: most big cats are around 3’ or so at the shoulder, so it’s more useful to measure individuals from nose to tail. That’s how you get the statistic that lions can measure up to 10ft(long) Dunsparce isn’t 4’11” TALL, it’s 4’11” LONG. That’s also how you get a 6’ furret that stands around 3 or 4 feet tall on its hind legs.
The sizes are still wonky though. Golbat is not as tall as Charizard. And Charizard is definitely taller than whatever height is listed. And it can’t be its wingspan…in nature, vertebrates need wings roughly the length of their body to be able to fly, give or take. Like not an exact measurement, but that would be roughly the same as its height.
Anybody else remember when Salamence was listed as one of Palkia's weaknesses?
cant wait for them to drop a salamence type starter next gen
"Oh I could really use a Salamence right about now"
"man i could really use a salamence right now!" -Jaiden
The "your mother" joke at 55:45 KILLED me
Dropped a hard bar out of nowhere
There's another one at 1:37:10
Koraidon and Miraidon's naming scheme is actually explained by a postgame event in the Indigo Disk ***** spoilers for Indigo Disk **** When you meet the past versions of the professors, they originally call the legendaries "Winged King" and "Iron Serpent" respectively. It's implied the reason they renamed them to "Koraidon" and "Miraidon" is because WE THE PLAYER told them those names. But we learned those names from Arven, who learned it from the Professor, who seemingly learned it from us in the future. Meaning the names THEMSELVES are a time travel paradox.
this is called a Bootstrap Paradox, and it's probably my favorite one! it's used as a plot device in many time travelling stories, and it blows my mind every single time
The names conventional paradox names aren’t just in the post game, it is mentioned in the dex entries too
@@metalburger1117man you’ll love Attack on Titan
@@metalburger1117The Song of Storms in Ocarina of Time is by far one of my favorite examples. You learn the song as an adult from the windmill keeper, who tells you he first heard it from some brat who used it to create a storm within his windmill seven years ago. Then later (or should I say earlier) you go to the windmill as a child and play the song there in order to solve a puzzle to get to a dungeon. You are the reason he knows the song, and he is the reason you know the song. It has no point of origin, but instead exists as an endless circle, going around and around. Just like the hurricane winds that the song summons, or the spinning blades and cogs of the windmill, or the crank on the music box that the windmill keeper plays, or even the cyclical melody of the song itself. The extra repeated imagery of circles and loops with no point of origin is so cool.
Fun fact: Weedle actually CAN learn two Normal type moves, only in Pokémon Go, where it can learn Return and Frustration. All Pokémon available as shadow Pokémon can know them, actually.
1:03:19 Buneary is, I believe, the only non-legendary/mythical pokemon who starts at 0 friendshio on capture. From what i gather this is based on the fact rabbits take a very long time to warm up to new owners, but thats mainly theory. Still, neat fact, and its why Frustration is viable for a while until it evolves.
1:44:10 Lurantis is based off of an orchid pretending to be a mantis, a play on how mantis pretend to be orchids.
We were ROBBED of Let’s Go Psyduck.
I think that Zygarde's fact at 1:39:38 might no longer be true as terapagos' hp increases in its stellar form.
À
Fun fact: Terapagos can also gain hp as it’s hp stat gets increased when you tera it into the stellar form
Cottonee and Whimsicott are the ONLY Fairy types in gen 5. So when we get the remakes and you want a fairy-type, they are the only option.
Does Mega Audino count?
@@TornaitSuperBirddon't think so, megas are stuck in gen 7

I think the Meditite thing might be explained by a fact: A region where a pokemon is first introduced is not necessarily where that pokemon ORIGINATED in-universe. Corpish is one example you give, but Coperajah is first seen in Galar, but its explicitly not from there. Same for Quaquaval and Paldea. Meditite might have been introduced in Hoen, but it could be native to Sinoh/Hisui originally.
Makes me wonder if they'll make a region based on India one day to have Copperajah native to it. Maybe even give it a regional variant.
The your mom joke is so perfectly and tastefully placed 😂 Made me crack up great job on the vid!
It caught me so off guard. I’m laying down and I hear it I was like “Oop” 😲
i definitely was not expecting it thaaaat far into the video, thats amazing

cracked me up too! it almost made me spit out my hot chocolate LOL
Zubat learning mean look actually makes sense because if you look at it's ears, they look like angry eyes. :>
Ting-Lu had it's HP and Def lowered. It had it's Sp. Atk raised however, and is still the only one of the ruins pokemon which had their stat raised. Ogerpon is not the only one who can't have it's Tera type changed. This distinction is shared with Terapagos.
Fun fact about the Tera type changing actually, Ogrepon is hard-coded to not be able to change the Tera type because the game will literally crash if you attempt a battle without it being the correct Tera type. The game will chug, but will not crash, if you change Terapagos's Tera type. Therefore, Ogrepon being the only Pokemon hard-coded to not be able to change its Tera type is technically correct
it wouldn't really make sense for Rillaboom to learn Belly Drum anyway, because having a drum means it doesn't have to use itself as a drum, as Belly Drum would imply.
Enjoying the video quite a bit, even if I'm late to the party! One VERY SMALL potential note on Weedle: It is capable of knowing more than three moves! In Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon, in addition to its three level up moves, it can apparently learn Electroweb by Move Tutor!
1:15:00 Panpour and Semipour’s eyes aren’t closed, they just don’t have irises or pupils I believe. I first found this out while playing Y; They would blink during their idle animations or make expressions with them in Poke Amie!
1025: Pecharunt is the first Mythical Pokemon where its name does not remain the same in both English and Japanese, with its original name being Momowarou (though it's called Dokutaro in the coding).
They'd also need a new fact for gastly, since Pecharunt's existence means its not the only Ghost/Poison anymore
@@presidenttogekiss635 It still is; Pecharunt is Poison/Ghost, not Ghost/Poison.
@@SentaiYamanekothat's nitpicking so hard though that it's not even really a fact
This must had taken a lot of work and research. Great vid, thanks!
1:49:58 Grookey doesn't evolve at all in the anime. You're probably thinking about the episode where it meets its evolutions. ...Grookey took god knows how many episodes to actually use a named attack though lol
What a LEGEND! I can only imagine how long this video took to make. Instant like from me!👍😁

Love that you referenced the pokepark series.( Which i wish would return. ao much potential along with mystery dungeon) Here's another fact about Golurk: It can transform into a cannon as seen in Pokepark 2.
Golurk can also fly by tucking in its legs into its body along with its' fists.
Just in time for my sleep 😴 will listen to this for a few days during my sleep.
You are so real for that Based, even
at 7:25 u mention poison being super effective against bug in older generations, but then mistakenly say paras and parasect are quadruple weak to bug, fire and flying. I'm sure you meant to say poison, fire and flying! haha, great video anyways :)
always happy to see some love for pokémon adventures! fantastic video
Imagine how much better Flygon would be if it had Sheer Force
Zygarde fact is actually false. Terapagos can also increase its max HP when terestallizing as the Stellar form has a base HP of 160 as opposed to its usual 95 in the normal battle form.
49:49 has me dying when you called Swablu Wallot not sure why
Mega Kick wasn’t even a signature move for Hitmonlee in Gen 1. It was a TM and could be taught to most of the Gen 1 Pokémon.
INSANE. how did you decide on what facts and how long did it take you to get some of these weird ones lol. I'm watching all the way through just because your dedicated. 😂
So Gastly fact is now technically false there's a new Epilogue story coming on the 11th of January revolving around a new mythical, "Pecharunt" It is Poison/Ghost.
Time makes fools of all men
Cradily's is false for the same reason with Ogerpon Cornerstone also being Grass/Rock which was already released, but maybe they didn't count it since it's a form not its base
@@ViPxRampageXx Permutations exist for both of those. Gastly line is Ghost/Poison, while Pecharun is Poison/Ghost. Lileep line is Rock/Grass, while Ogerpon Cornerstone Mask is Grass/Rock.
While Mega Altaria shares no typing with its pre-evo, its, ability, Pixilate, means it can still take advatange of the normal moves it learned as a Swablu, who now become fairy type moves.
Celebi IS in the gen 3 pokerap... however Zigzagoon is not.
And Mew isn't in the Gen 1 Pokerap. I believe it was added in the Gen 3 one.
16:06 Mr. Mime fact was wrong according to the sprites..I had to rewind back to make sure I didn’t hear it wrong lol
I believe they're excluding the thumb here; when saying "fingers". As Mr.Mime does go from 3 fingers and a thumb, to 4 fingers and a thumb.
- Ivysaur: The offensive part in Ivysaur's name is "sau", which in German is considered a slur. - Blastoise: I think that's just because Blastoise, Kabuto, and Kabutops were given the same categorization name, which was just "Shell" in JP. - Snubbull/Granbull: They seem to be based on the Cu-Sith, which means "dog fairy" and is usually a term for more grotesque-looking fairies like goblins. - Wailord: Though it's been sized down when used in Gen-6 onward, the Isle of Armor has a wild Lv80 Wailord that appears size-accurate on the overworld before you encounter it. - Whiscash: This is because the Pokemon is based on Namazu, a catfish of Japanese folklore said to cause earthquakes. - Infernape: Among Sun Wukong's powers is an immunity to fire, which may have helped him withstand Laozi's furnace (which was intended to boil out his immortality). - Luxray: It's kinda inspired by the legends of lynxes' supernatural eyesight that can even see through solid matter. - Purrloin: Have you noticed how its purple markings are similar to the outfit of Doronjo, the recurring lead antagonist of Yatterman? - Vanillite: Without snow, you mean. It's really just a living icicle wearing snow like a balaclava. - Lampent: Well, no. It represented the sign of Libra, which is mostly prevalent in October birthdates. It's one of the most scales-shaped Pokemon in Unova, you see. - Greninja: No, X/Y released in October 2013. Greninja was revealed for Smash For in April 2014. But yes, Greninja was chosen in the dev period well before X/Y released. - Lurantis: Incorrect! It and Fomantis are a reverse of the orchid mantis - instead of a bug pretending to be a flower, these are orchids pretending to be mantises. - Bounsweet: The mangosteen is also known as "the queen of fruits", hence Tsareena's queenly appearance. - Hakamo-o: Ironically, despite having "mo-o" in their names, the Jangmo-o line has less in common with the supernatural mo'o, compared to Salazzle, Alolan Exeggutor, and Ultra Necrozma. - Drizzile: Did you know that when it uses a ranged attack, it throws what looks like a water balloon? - Orbeetle: ...Ladybugs ARE beetles. - Yamper: So? Neither does Guzzlord. - Obstagoon: Technically, its Japanese name is 6 JP letters long. - Alcremie: 63 (9 creams times 7 sweets). Counting shinies would bring that to 70. - Dracozolt - Arctovish: Four different fossils. - Finizen: It also evolves at Lv38, likely a nod to the year that Superman's first comic debuted. - I'll add one for Pecharunt: It's the only Pokemon whose English name is based on an item from the Pokemon games.
Don't quote me. But I believe you could get the Porygon 2's name back with the number, if you go to the Name Rater, delete all the characters, and just press "End" and the nicknames erase and just go back to their original Pokemon names.
Fantastic video dude. Nice work.
40:50 I remember that promotion. They actually had other Pokemon too like Pikachu and Psyduck. I only managed to get the psyduck straw as the rest were out of stock though unfortunately
Pretty sure Kakuna moves its arms in the animations for Stadium. I’m remembering a little “jump and spin” it will do for some attacks and it will move its arms during that. I think this is because Kakuna is more of a nymph and than a bug in a cocoon. I know bee drill is a big bee/wasp, but compare to the life cycle of a dragonfly. I think that Pokémon heights are wonky AF. There is no way that Golduck is the same height as Charizard.
1:56:55 For those that don’t know, Cufant’s name as the Copperderm Pokémon is referring to pachyderms, meaning “thick skin”. These include elephants, rhinos, and hippos. Another fact: The “Cu” in Cufant doesn’t come from “cute” (though it is). It instead from Cu, which is the chemical symbol for copper on the periodic table.
Great vid!
Dog in French is "chien", not "dog but with a French accent" 😂😭
1:05:10 heres another fact for ya; spritomb with wonder guard can actually be hit with one move despite having no weaknesses. Fire punch i believe is what can hit it. And battle frontier ai will actually play around this and adapt to bring pokemon with fire punch.
Wait how can it be hit by fire punch?
@@Rainfire-forgets-to-animateDue to a programming error, though this is only applicable in Gen 4.

I've seen them in Va too. Soon as you start getting close to the Maryland line they'll start spawning. If I could post pics I could show a Va caught location
Actually, they gave Dawn/Lucas hats to ALL 3 Sinnoh starters in Go, not just Piplup.
1:49:14 Only until a month ago (2 months after this video was published), both Poipole and Naganadel on Beast Ball finally became legal. It can be obtained by getting Poipole through a quest in Pokémon GO where you can only catch it with a Beast Ball. As of writing this comment Naganadel is not yet available, but you can send Poipole to Pokémon HOME, deposit it in SwSh and evolve it there

You're gonna have to put pecharunt as Ghost/Poison too alongside ghastly line.
Pecharunt is Poison/Ghost, not Ghost/Poison >:)
Milotic's official Pokedex color is pink, according to Pokemon Home. Why did they do this?

Ghastly and it's evolutions are no longer the only Ghost and Poison type pokemon.
Technically, if you want to get pedantic about it, they still are. Pecharunt is Poison/Ghost, not Ghost/Poison.

Paras has 4 2x weaknesses in gen 1 as poison is also good against bug. also 1 horsepower is just the energy it takes to lift one pound one foot off the ground. Its arbitrary and most horses make about 5 to 20 horsepower when they run. Like all units of energy they can be converted to psi and the like, which is how you measure pressure. However the horsepower experiment is much simpler than a psi one.
1:15:02 simipours eyes arent closed! Theyre actually whited out the way actual blind people’s eyes are! Very cool
Psi moves is not a mistake. That's are "real" thing from parapsychology, named after the greek letter.

"Your mom" caught me off guard multiple times lol
1:47:42 Cosmoem isnt 999LBS, its actually 999KG, which is equal to 2204.4LBS, making it THE HEAVIEST pokemon, tied with celesteela
In old Japanese the color green and blue are used interchangeably the same way yellow and pink used to be used interchangeably in old English. 😂 😂
Pokémon the Series: Diamond and Pearl is the only series of either of the Pokémon TV shows to not feature a Charizard in any capacity. And we say it’s GF’s golden child. No, that honor has to go to *Psyduck*. It is available in nearly every main series game to date!
50:33 Another fact about this: The move Earthquake wasn't used in the anime for a number of years after that. Not sure of that is true anymore, but that's what I remembered. Feel free to correct me if you see this comment.
12:28 well thats gonna change in about a week

new Pokémon’s out, you have to make this whole video again but with pecharunt
them keeping the Nidoran line as seperate mons while things like Meowstic and Indeedee have to share one entry is their laziness to change and update things. Much like how they keep Feraligatr's name without an O even though he have plenty of spaces for it now.
