Artificial hearts operate like a natural human heart. They are made of soft "biomaterials" intended to lessen the risk of blood clots or rejection by the immune system and are powered by a belt of lithium batteries.VIDEOGRAPHIC

    • you can get scared even without an organic heart inside, as an entire flight or fight response triggers in your body when you experience fear. the only difference is, among all the different symptoms of being in fight or flight mode, you won't be able to experience a racing heart. that's all. but you will still have heightened sense of hyper-vigilance, fearful/anxious thoughts, and adrenaline rushing through your bloodstream.

  • i wonder if they can attach a artificial heart anywhere in the body , like the foot where the heart has problems sending blood back up when a person gets older, i believe if they put more then one pulsing device to push blood in the body that the normal heart wouldn't have to be removed , i believe one of the main reasons the heart gets damaged is arteries get blocked and the heart cant push the blood through the arteries which makes the blood come back to the heart abnormally and makes the heart have to work harder to push the blood , i believe making a smaller artificial heart and putting it in other locations in the body that the heart wouldn't have to work so hard and would be able to heal itself , its the rate blood is going into the heart and coming out of the heart that damages it

    @firenokiano4508@firenokiano45087 жыл бұрын
    • +Raymond655 actually, if you think about it, the human body replaces its cells every two years, what's the difference? that you are doing this all at once? can you say you are the same person over time or your behaviour changes? i don't think there's a problem with that change.

      @fss1704@fss17046 жыл бұрын
    • When cells replace they get smaller and eventually get to small and that's why you age and then die ( something like that anyways )

      @user-rc4oc3id3v@user-rc4oc3id3v6 жыл бұрын
    • Actually they don't get smaller LOL! , They do not replicate very well, every time they lose a little bit of dna material until they can no longer divided well you die , atleast thats the theory "Telomeres shortening" (it limits the infinite division of human cell)

    • In old age, the degradation of the capillaries of the brain leads to the death of neurons and the development of dementia. The limit of clarity is about 120 years. You are one and half kilogram pice of fat programmed to self-destruct and can do nothing about it

      @rainbowhyena1354@rainbowhyena13545 жыл бұрын
    • Our poor brain has a storage of 12 petabytes which will be approximately filled with memory at about 120 years of old age.so when you live for 300 years you wont to be able to speak a word because your brain is filled.

    • jaffyfoxy I'm pretty sure the people who designed it thought of all of this. They didn't just pull this design out of their ass.

      @randomdude4628@randomdude46288 жыл бұрын
    • +Random Dude nature did, but you know what, have you seen that animal in nature, the one who have wheels? No? that's because nature didn't invent wheels, too complex, but humans did, can you imagine if we had to adapt a car to work on legs? that would be hard because it's a much more complex system. in this case, you're comparing a small quad microturbine with two separate supercapacitors and 70 years of service life to something wich is basically a waste of power storage space, believe me, if western digital can do that wonderful miniaturization on hard disk drivers, in the near future we could simply 3d print them. I'd love to have my own 3d printed heart, if we could just hack it...

    • The pulse is needed to maintain the strength of the artery walls. When using pumps of constant flow, the walls of arteries become thinner, which can lead to bleeding. However, the most advanced pump like heartmate 3 can imitate the pulse, so that the membrane machines are really outdated.
