    • Okay, I have one major issue with it. (And to add to that you guys failed to test the CASE!) The case has ‘plexiglass’ inserts for the sides of the stand. BUT, it’s apparent that the designed it too narrow to allow the jetpack to be on while inside of the enclosure… whyyyyyyyy?!!

      @timmturner@timmturner6 ай бұрын
    • They replaced Tim for this film with the explanation that it's not about the toy, it's about the guy the toy is based on. They wanted someone that could play the drama as well the comedy (take that Tim) and also someone who had potential to play the character in a live action film so they got Chris Evens. For some reason they love to have big names in animated films because people are apparently more likely to go and see the film. If the viewing public didn't mind them recasting Mario and Luigi in that Super Mario film then I doubt they will care about Tim Allen (they’ll still use him if they make Toy Story 5).

  • My only problem with the whole concept of the movie being the thing that Andy watched in universe, is that the animated series from years earlier totally felt like what he would have watched.

    @MeleeTiger@MeleeTiger6 ай бұрын
    • Yea, and the idea that he wouldn't have an issue with the Buzz toy voice sounding completely different from the movie because they didn't have Chris even attempt to sound like the voice Tim Allen used. It's a weak excuse so they could get the currently popular actor in the main role and the fact that they didn't just admit that bugged me more than anything.

      @Dashierez@Dashierez6 ай бұрын
    • I like to think of Lightyear as the modern reboot of Buzz Lightyear cartoon that Andy watched. The reboot is in itself a reboot. Also, just, you know, don’t worry about the head cannon. Cannon can ruin media in its own right when you worry about it if ‘matters.’ Same goes for speculating/focusing on real life events and motivations behind a piece of art. Take it in its own right and decide if you like the piece of art or not. I know most hated Lightyear but I really enjoyed it

      @robhardingpoetry@robhardingpoetry5 ай бұрын
    • @@DashierezHe sounds close enough to me. Honestly, there really isn't anything too distinct in Tim Allen's voice when he's voicing Buzz. It's mostly just a "Tim Allen being serious" voice. Either way voice actors for merch get switched out all the time, (especially for video games) kids usually don't notice or don't care. You have to stop applying adult nostalgia-based logic onto kids.

    • I think a lot of people would have a think about getting Chip or Archer from the original toys. Alternatively, it might make sense to contact the people developing the War for Nekron and speak to them about developing and releasing high level toys for when their property (Is it a toy or game?) is released in the future. The great thing with the new ones is as they are modeled in UE5, getting the models together shouldn't be difficult. And if they are approached early enough, it might be possible to licence the voices of the actors that they choose to do the character's voices.

      @Marsattacks69@Marsattacks695 ай бұрын

They were making a scam nft medabots game and trademarked Small Soldiers for the same thing. Thats why there hasn't been any news on it lately. If you google Medabots lawsuit it will show up. Honestly if you want Small Soldiers to come back in any form. The smartest thing would be to post about it and tag hasbro along with dreamworks and keep it up. • I might be wrong, but it looks like the wing tips would hit the side panels of the case when extended, which is kind of a drag. You couldn't leave it in the case and demonstrate fully. Of course, you wouldn't want the water vapor enclosed in the case, anyway.

  • Yeah this thing's like 1200 bucks I think. And I saw Ryan's world made a video about it. Which means that there's going to be a bunch of kids asking their parents for a $1,200 robot for Christmas and there's going to be a bunch of parents having to explain that once again Ryan's playing with some expensive shit that nobody that's had a childhood can afford and we are in the second group.

    • Actually my Garden Railroad (LGB) Trains 1:22.5 scale you mineral oil, gives thicker smoke... by default some already had this in the early Analog ages, nowadays they added Pulsed Smoke on the Digital versions. That way it's able to keep on smoking (and have light ON) as the train stands still, it increases the thickness and intervals as it starts chuffing away! (tbh I barely put oil in it since it leaves a slightly sticky layer)

      @g60force@g60force6 ай бұрын
    • @@g60force Yeah the hobby stuff is much different and more realistic as you say. Toy trains though marketed for kids just take plain water and produce steam such as you see in this video. It's pretty good, but not thick and white, but also leaves no residue. I recently reviewed one for Amazon which chuffs and puffs pretty well in 10 second bursts while the sound plays too loudly, haha. I wired in a speaker cut off switch on the thing!
